Designed in collaboration with the US military and renowned for outstanding performance and reliability, the Apeks RK3 is a rugged thermoplastic rubber fin featuring an over-sized foot pocket to accommodate drysuit boots and a spring strap for easy donning and doffing. The RK3 is available in three sizes: Medium, Large and Super.
We didn't give the RK3 fin a shoe size range as this can be very misleading.
The environment that an RK3 is used in will tend to dictate the size of fin that you need, for example do you dive in a warm environment wearing wetsuit boots, or are you walking across pebbled beaches and wearing a drysuit and rigid dry boots? Both forms of footwear may be a size 9, but will take up different amounts of space in the fin foot pocket.
Therefore, we recommend that you visit your local dive store and try the fins on with your own footwear, just to ensure that you're getting the right fit for your style of diving.

There is 2 types, the Tek RK3 HD and the RK3 HD. From pictures it looks like the tek version is shorter and maybe more rigid. Does anyone know for shure?

I was on the fence about these vs the HD's because of the same things you've seen Pete, ended up ordering a standard pair this week. Very excited to put them to use!

@@markfrantz4612 I absolutely love them. Weighting is great, very durable and I can manoeuvre really well with them. The spring straps are brilliant too!

Will it fit on carry on luggage?

They won’t fit in an underseater, but a 22” (56cm) duffle will fit the medium size fin. I bought the black ones, but I wish I bought the white or yellow to make it easier to put my initials on. Also easier for someone to see you in poor visibility conditions. Work great in tight spaces (wrecks, swim throughs etc) for frog and toe kicks especially silty bottoms. I also use them on drift dives, but if you’re in really strong currents you might want a bigger fin. The pocket fits my boots well, whether I’m using a 7mm or 2.5mm. They’re a good everyday fin, but if you do more snorkelling than diving, or do more flutter kicks, you might want a longer fin.

I guess they are not made to dive without boots?

HI, these fins most definitely need to be used with boots. The fin foot pocket is VERY hard designed to be worn with a full dive boot. So unless you have feet as tough as an african elephant we would advise wearing dive boots. :-)
