    I also learned to go with the momentum of his swing, so after you move in and grab the arms just keep going with the way he or she is swinging and you will end up with the bat. This is one of the most intersting techniques that I learned while taking ninjitsu, learning how all the energy is further away from the person and the closer you get and interrupt the energy the easier it is to get out of this situation but timing is the key because you have to match his timing or you can really get hurt

    I would really never wanna be in a situation where some crook was trying to swing a bat at me. This is along the lines of what one of my sensei's taught me. If the bat is being swung and has any momentum, it is best to dodge. Run away if you can. Some people are faster, and you can't see your attacker unless you glance back. This guy has a bat.
    So dodge if you can, but the tactic is actually to prevent the swing and control the bat. Use strikes to distract or disable while you maintain control of the bat. Try to get the bat for yourself. At all times, control the bat. You have too move inside quickly.

    What if he swings high? I was hit behind the left ear with a metal fence post about 15 years ago, with my back turned. There's a little button behind your ear that will turn you off. While i was unconscious he beat me over the head so severely a bystander dived over my head to protect me from anymore blows, or I wouldn't be typing this today. Next thing I know I was in ICU with detectives asking me what happened, but I couldn't remember. They gave me a card to reach them and eventually left. I had 2 broken ribs, a broken jaw, and a fractured orbital bone. My memory came back, so I ended up leaving the hospital, stopped by my home, and went and retaliated to the worse degree. I ended up in prison but you know what? If anyone wants to be that stupid and violate me like that for no reason, it would be best to build yourself a bunker 10ft underground because you're life is in potential danger. I'm not trying to portray myself as a tough guy. I'm too noble for my own good, and I want to be treated like with respect.

    in my twenties I was attacked with a baseball bat you are right about not letting the attacker have the ability to give you a full swing with the full size bat...I had no where to go so I locked myself in a small and made them rush the door and break it down I did get beat with the bat pretty bad but in the end I blocked my head and prevented head and neck trauma all while taking his idea of using that bat with a full swing and impact ...mind you if it was a little bat It would have made me a cripple for sure...anyways it was a misunderstanding that I apparently had no clue what led up to the events that had occurred but that was obviously inconsequential.

  • @moneywelder

    Well, thankfully, the guy with the bat was moving slowly. The truth is that you have milliseconds to react ! A person who is going to attack you isn't going to slowly swing their weapon and allow you the time to think the situation over and make your decision.

      Try his advice and see for yourself. Decades ago I was at a karate dojo that the instructor was playing a game with kids. One kid got a pool noodle and got to swing it like a baseball bat, the partner was unarmed and had the same 2 choices as the video. I was watching waiting for the adult sparring-kickboxing class to start. But as I watched it was obvious that the unarmed kid, whose only goal was to tag his opponent won the vast majority of the time. So, not to be outdone by a bunch of kids, after they left the floor, we tried it. Only difference was we had 16 ounce gloves on when not swinging the pool noodle. It soon became obvious you did not want to be the armed one. Now I know that a bat is going to be swung faster, but I have to say that 10 minutes of playing this game will convince you of the reality of the effectiveness of this video.

      Of course the guy with the bat is moving slowly. It's a demonstration video, you dope. The point is to see what to do and then practice and train for the situation until you can perform these moves with the speed needed to counter the attack without needing to think about each step.

  • @hybrid6ix885

    This is obviously for “if you can’t run”, however, RUN. Your chances of getting cracked with a bat at full swing are much higher than low. Something will break, and it won’t be the bat. I did see a video of someone swinging a bat at someone who was getting jumped and the guy ate the swing and body slammed the guy…took the bat. It was surprising.

  • @lubibubi6380
    @lubibubi6380 Год назад +1

    Sure and if can't reach him in time you end up with broken ribs because you put your arms up so you can lock the bat under your shoulder. You should at least have your arm in a V Shape to defend a hit to your ribs. You should not particularly wait to block it but at least have your arm defend your ribs and then come closer.

    You're a tall person using a shorter person as a demo. In real life it's mostly the other way around - a taller person with a bat/metal pipe thinking he can bully everyone with his height and might. It's these people that we need to defend ourselves from, unfortunately for some of us it's on a daily basis. Teach us how to do that.

    • @Strikingathlete01
      @Strikingathlete01 Год назад +1

      The principle is the same. You close the distance so they do not get the full swing. If they get the full swing, the potential of you dying goes up. You have to keep it close and strike when you're near. You will be hurt and self defence is hard, but this is the most sane method if you can't run. Fight can still go either way, you're just upping your chance of survival.

    L'attaque est mauvaise trop d'amplitude . L'attaquant peut aussi lâcher l'arme et frapper pied poing épaules et coups de tête. Il faut revoir la situation avec des attaques courtes sans indication de la zone potentiellement attaquée avec l'idée de poursuivre l'attaque. Le travail sera beaucoup plus bénéfique pour les deux. Amicalement

    God help anyone trying to close ranks on a bat wielder as large as the instructor in this video. Nothing is a guarantee certainly applies when it comes to a bat. I swung a bat for 4 seasons at Clemson and if I mean to hit someone with a bat its going to strike diagonally from 10 O'clock and designed impact the base of the neck, because I am lefty. In a summer league practice I saw a coaches 12 yr old son get struck accidentally by a practice swing and it broke cheek bone, completely broke and unhinged the jaw and knocked a tooth out. Nearly fatal catastrophic damage from one swing probably at 70% speed. . If I had to make the attempt, I would toss a handful of coins or keys into the air 3 feet above bat mans head. If a batsman takes his eyes off his target it will break his stance and he will have to reposition his feet. Hopefully that gives you sufficient time to avoid taking a blow to the collar bone or neck.
