Measuring Electrical Current Above 10 Amps

  • How do you measure electrical current when it is above 10 amps? Most multimeters are limited to measuring 10 amps. In this video we will show you how to use a clamp meter or amp clamp to measure both AC and DC current. The meter I am using is an Extech MA445 which is capable of measuring both AC and DC current. This is a Hall Effect type meter which is preferred over the more basic transformer style amp clamp.
