In the earlh 80's I bought a Juno 60 at Guitar Center in San Jose on close out for $700, no midi so I added midi/dcb interface and the dcb sequencer. It had a nice arp function with pulse synch and make some great sounds. But nostalgia aside, today's synths run circles around the old stuff. But that noisy chorus was the bomb on the '60. Roland gives you all that and a ton more with the X. Looks like you got the value buy, cash is king!

I think you made a great choice. I have the Jupiter X, and once I downloaded the editor, it made the synth 100x easier. The Juno is more user friendly, but the editor makes building the scenes easier.

Internal or external FX, a decent chorus, delay and/or reverb in stereo can make the thinnest FM 4 op or a single oscillator sound fantastic. Nice to see someone showing off a synth plus FX. EVERY synth can benefit from some juicy FX, even a Moog. While External boxes can be used on any and all gear, it is nice to save FX settings within the synth of course :).
Yeah i love guitar pedals for synths. But those sound effects were all stock presets and fantastic.
@@synthsamuraiproductions The Yamaha Reface series have fantastic built in FX too. The CS and CP both are simple (save-able on an app) controls that complement the gear so much, I wish they'd sell a box of Reface FX with all the physical controls for the FX separate from the units. These Juno X FX are really nice.

So.. 2:31 sound is one I used to use a lot.. its a classic Psytrance sound effect .
(See Alien Project Midnight Sun GMS remix) classic stuff..
Its just Filter assigned to OSC Pitch and add delay twist Filter! I used to do it with my Virus all the time when making tracks.. Great sound! The JUNO 106 was very popular also in early PsyTrance.

I use this more than my Prophet 5…i know…its crazy…but true. It’s like I don’t even care how awesome the Prophet 5 sounds…because it is awesome, but the Juno X is more approachable/flexible/whateverable! I just use it more! 🔥💯💪🏾

Nope no looper i need an rc 505. I use the sequencer in the opsix to lay down stuff and then midi that sequemce to wavestate modwave and minifreak

Presets then i am manipulating them about half was i make a patch from scratch
They are quite different synths with very different design philosophy, but personally I could not see myself replacing a Hydrasynth Deluxe with it. Are you simply finding more space or is it gone?

Oh, bro! Congratulations on a wonderful purchase! But personally, some factors stop me from purchasing these tools. 1 . This is the presence of speakers. They make this key even heavier than it is. In terms of functionality, it is inferior to my Kronos, but in weight it is the same. Incl. For live I will take damn Kronos. 2. There are times when the manufacturer can remotely turn off your Plug-out if, in his opinion, you will not play tolerant music and if you are a blatant heterosexual🤣
