Every single Backseat video starts as "I'm not really that optimistic about breaking it, we'll just play this one normally." and ends with the game being softlocked in half a dozen different ways and an item that functions as the catalyst for at least three major game-breaking bugs being discovered

I remember being in chat during the Card Fiasco. It was a sight to behold. Anyone possibly trying to drop hints in chat got drowned out by people being angry he wasn't getting it, ironically prolonging their own torment.

As an answer to why the game broke, the exact moment after where you paused the game, you are forced to make a decision between them where you are unable to pause. Since you paused, and pausing is disabled during the screen transition, you are unable to unpause.

I love the fact this is meant to be a horror game with the intent to scar you for a week, and he's able to make this look like a comedy. Every scary section is just filled with laughter. My god.

What does the fish mean in the overall lore, though? Is it a member of the family long lost and now possessing it, trying to warn you about the monster in the tapes?
(I've just yet to see the fish in any other playthrough and that sent me through a loop 😂)
From what I've seen most people immediately use it on the bot, so it could just be the animation that plays when you use it on the wrong item

I think the reason it softlocked was because at that point you’re not supposed to get out because of the part when it tells you you can’t get out but it lespts you out early because of probably sloppy coding
