My only complaint about this is that Maya would 100% be down with joining the Yatagarasu, and it would be Phoenix's who would be raising an objection about it. Also I feel that Maya would try and give her self a cool introductory title to match Kay's. other then that this was a great concept, I especially loved the part where both Phoenix and Edgeworth showed off their badges.

This is BEAUTIFUL. Everything from Kay and Maya's reactions to each other, our favorite defense attorney poking at Miles Edgeworth for being a Steel Samurai fan-- and the whole Jammin'Ninja vs Steel Samurai conversation-- absolutely amazing!

@@debastiansebeste I like the text transition though, gives more depth about the games they're playable as, plus a investigations case featuring playable Phoenix working together with Edgeworth and his investigations pals would've been cool.
Investigators 1 & 2 are amazing but they tend to miss some more elements from the trilogy in the first game but mostly JFA is referenced in Investigations 2.
@@Monhamd1000 well, they do miss some stuff from the trilogy, but at least they bring some extra elements that feel kinda new to the franchise. But yeah I'd love an AAI3 with Phoenix (though since it's Investigations I'd prefer Edgeworth as the main character and Phoenix being the investigation partner or something).

Very well written! It also bothered me that the two never crossed paths. Just think of how epic it would have been if, say - Edgeworth had to do some investigating with Maya while Phoenix went with Kay? Such a missed opportunity.

@@bobbob1876 It's part of a series of fanfics called Ace Attorney Investigations 3: End of an Era in ao3; the specific case where Edgeworth works with Maya is called Game for the Turnabout. There's a bunch of neat stuff there. Like, in the first case Edgeworth assists Blackquill in his first investigation (this is before his conviction) and there's also an entire case from Franziska's POV.

I used that trip Maya, Pearl, and Phoenix took to Gatewater Land in my attempt at rewriting the Gramarye trial. My angle was the park was suddenly closed down when the murder/kidnapping took place and everyone who was there got a complimentary visit as an apology. Maya and Pearl use that trip the same day as Phoenix is called to defend Zak Gramarye in court, so he can't join them and Maya isn't present when Phoenix goes to trial (hence why he ended up screwing the pooch in the real game).

Did Maya ever find out that it was Larry and Oldbag, of all the people in the world, who played the Steel Samurai and Pink Princess at the embassy? I feel like she'd lose it just imagining them in those roles while knowing the ACTUAL Steel Samurai actor AND knowing she was the inspiration for the Pink Princess.
Maybe she'd be willing to give Kay a pass if her biggest exposure to the show in recent memory involved the absolute worst people you'd want involved in a case, be it investigation or trial.

Is there a line of dialogues in any of the Ace attorney games saying Edgeworth is obsessed with his work in the way he can’t do other activities, cherish his friends, have a partner (male or female it doesn’t matter to my point) have hobbies and other insterests ecc ? Or maybe some who say otherwise? (Other than him liking the steel samurai show which is still hard to believe he’s not joking and pretending when he says he loves it)
Someone suggested to me he would be probably ace and maybe aroace (I don’t know about that)
I have doubts about it and I think if that was the case that would make him a different character then what I imagined (not a worse one or necessarily a worse unhappy person)
In Ace attorney investigations it seems the only two things he ever does is to rest and work.
That would also explain why he was uncomfortable in the celebration of turnabout goodbyes and why he didn’t contacted anyone after that and in general why he pushes away his personal matters *all the time* while working (this last one as I said isn’t so much an explanation but another way to read his character)
Note. I could not care less about the anime or other pieces of media written by different writers but I would find interesting a declaration by a lead writer (or something) from the games.
