Everyone on board with a guide a day and nothing else until DE comes out?!?! Also be sure to check out the tourney and the discords, next couple weeks will be a blast! Let me know what you guys think about the rec analysis compared to live games. I can cut it out altogether for future episodes or i can keep it as every 5th episode like we're doing now!
Best thing about this guide in my opinion; you’re actually continuing with the video’s! Lots of these initiatives start out very well, but then die down quickly. Keep the quality content coming 🤩
I like both live and record commentary and think you should do both since in the live we can see where you put your main attention and in the record we can learn more about the strategy and stuff. Great job!
Thanks a lot Hera, this is golden content for a player like me. Kind of feel bad for the players you rekt for this series but it has to be this level for the purpose of the series as the probable opponent quality and what's one loss anyway.
Daily content is great news! Also, keep these up! they give you the chance to play around with fog of war and give us a different insight on how you plan strategies.
Hera you are doing something unique here! you are combining excellent casting with solid professional tutorials. I used to watch T90 channels most of the time but I find myself these days watching your content more because first you upload regularly and you provide in-depth tutorials. The only thing your channels is missing now is more subscribers who will probably join if they knew that your channel exists. So I advice you to go to viper and T90 channels and make comments in their posts about your channel to get more subscribers because you deserve it. Finally, thank you and keep up the good work
Late comer from your new series. Many pros do analysis on lower level players and tell them what mistakes they made. Apart from pure mechanical ones, what separate noob and pro is the mindset. And you did a great job not just showing how well you play, but more importantly how you think and prioritize tasks, which I think is lacking for most normal players. Thanks for the series
One guide a day , what a god damn treat. Also I hope this event isn't a one time thing and is recurring again in the future! I don't even feel ready to qualify as a beginner, but i'm sure down the line i'd love to join to get a better feel at becoming better at the game!
Like this guide Hera, just faced a tower rush at lower level, and was easy to defend. I actually watched the video afterwards but still useful for the next tower rush I face!
I like these reviews. Your knowledge of what is about to happen gives a clear reason for choices you make. I dig it. I like you doing multiple ways of teaching. I still want you to do a video with Spirit of the Law. I love his analytical breakdowns of the mechanics of the game and I believe the two of you can sort through some of the mechanics verses practicality.
I do like rec analysisesisesises. Live games capture "in the moment" type of thinking, whereas recs are better for demonstrating a bird's eye perspective of what is happening.
I am really loving this content. I always very liked your playstyle in tournaments and only found out very late you made this high quality content on YT (from Spirit, if you ever need the feedback). This is gold, thank you!
Great videos Hera! Some small feedback: I like the recording, as long it remains focused on your perspective. For me, the main draw of your videos is "How do I decide what to do at different points of the game?". Crucial for that is that you can only base those decisions on information you actually have. For example, at 4:10 you discuss your opponent's map, before having actually scouted it at that point. If your opponent's map would have influenced your decision to go men at arms instead of scouts, you would adapt your build, starting with 4 on wood instead of 3 (or at least that's how I learned it, looking forward to your men at arms vid!). You would only do this though if you had actually scouted his map. This didn't really matter in this video, I'm just pointing out that not being an all-knowing game commentator is what mainly differentiates your videos for me :)
Hi Hera. Love the videos, especially this series, really informative. One question though. I see on this video, and also on the video where you played Viper and lost (Paladins vid I think), you built a forward monastry. Why? Why not build it at the back of your base and make it harder for your opponent to destroy it and then take the relics as Viper did?
Hmm i build it forward because i also use it to make monks and convert enemy units and heal my own, so its def better in the front. U do prove a good point tho with relic safety, if i was playing perfectly the correct play would be to make a second monastery in imp and transfer the relics to the back of my base. Hard to rmember in game tho! Great question btw
Love the content man, keep it up! (Also love watching the higher level POV games) would be great to see some monk play videos describing what techs you get and when/why.
I actually like the recorded games more, cause it gives you more time to explain stuff and since you know whats gonna happen, you can prepare the situations
Sorry for the question on the oldish video, but what would you do in the case of a tower hitting a really painful spot on your map? Like if you don't have the best map and get towered on a hill hitting both of your forward golds? Especially in builds when they follow up the tower with forward m@a it feels so crippling if they can get their first 1-2 towers up. Love the guides man you're a huge help crossing that gap from casual into trying to get better!
Ive been watching this series lately and its fot some great advice. Thank you! I had a question on this one - you guessed correctly that a man at arms rush was coming. Why didnt you wall your base completely? Wouldnt that have been safer when defending? Or is there another advantage of not doing that?
Hello hera! i’m always in your stream, always nice to see you playing! Just an ideia, in the first game of this episode u could have used his point of view and analise his mistakes.
At 16:51 you make a little mistake by killing two sheeps. But how do you normally prevent this from happening? Do you manually assign them to one sheep or is there a logic game mechanic?
Normally you manually assign the villagers to the next sheep, and pro players reccomend switching the villagers over when the current sheep is on like ~5 food
Smooth games! If you do double-kill sheep by mistake like in the 2nd game, isn't it better to take both? You'll get 80 extra food compared to leaving one to completely rot out.
I just did as you showed here and it worked perfectly. 6 towers in my base, denying a woodline and 200 food left on berries. I klicked up wit decent eco, and then my game crashed -.- pauito, in case you see this: i would have owned you..
very nice idea to do a video each day. But could you in the end of a game saying what your opponent should have done to win? For example where the first opponent should have put his towers to pressure you more
When is stone walling advisable? I have seen pro players only palisade wall majority of the time. In what scenario is stone walling more beneficial in terms of expected payoff minus the time and resource invested ?
Hmm thats a tricky topic haha. Personally i rarely stone wall but i think its really good if u wanna secure the map on a more permanent way. Palisades buy u time whereas stone walls keep u safe. The downside is they take longer to build and require a more valuable ressource
its all relative to other sign ups! Also if u have any friends that want to play, the difference in ur rating will determine who will be the beginner and who will be the more advanced player. If you have any questions just ask in discord, we are super active there
it just gives him more time to explain his understanding of the game and what's he's planning to do and he can also fast forward the games anyway... 30 mins for two games analysis is totally fine
what I don't get is why the opponent headed back out again at 5:25. He could've easily huddled the woodline at the inside of the house, walled the vills in, built the tower, and then built the next tower in range of your berries. This seemed like a very bad trush. Also your map was very favourable. I can easily imagine how someone would try to apply what you've shown here, but then just get blown out by someone making better tower locations against a worse map. Not that it's your fault mind, you don't preselect the mapgens exactly (dunno about the opponents).
@@kevinlecavalier9720 well, i did not need the info to begin with. i always had my clock visible. i was only pointing out the hotkeys to the best of my memories... but you are right... checking the hotkey in options is another way of finding out.
