Helloween's reunion is something historic. Kai Hansen (the guitarist with the red guitar) left the band in 1989 due to musical differences. Michael Kiske (the bald singer) was expelled in 1994 due to the musical turn he was giving to the band (practically moving away from metal). Kiske was the one who defined "how" power metal should be sung for a whole generation of singers (even his name sounded to replace Bruce Dickinson in Iron Maiden!), and the albums Keeper of the Seven Keys I & II (in which Hansen also participated) are considered the milestone of that musical style. For many years he was at odds with Michael Weikath (the guitarist with long black hair, who uses the light blue guitar). It was 24 years of not speaking to each other, until one day they met backstage at a festival and Weikath said "What did I do that you can't forgive me?", to which Kiske replied "You know what? I think I've already forgiven you". And here we are, enjoying this excellent line-up.
I hope metal never comes to being defined by quieking Kiske. If you ever want to hear, how it should sound, listen to Andi Deris. And if you have any understanding of music you will agree, that Kiske is just another old man trying to reach, where others play. And ... what the FUCK!!! ... how dare you comparing this second row singer to Bruce Dickinson?! And to make it clear, he wasn't part of the Keeper of the Seven Keys. He later just tried to sing it and failed, because he sounded shitty. Until today!!

I just saw them live a couple of days ago in Santiago, Chile. I travelled from La Paz, Bolivia. What an incredible show it was. Fan of Helloween since the 80´s, saw a concert from this tour here in Finland, awesome experience. Saw them first time live in the 90´s, maybe 1994 in the same bill with Bruce Dickinson on his solo tour for Balls To Picasso. Memories, memories ! Happy you enjoyed this, have to say, that this reunion is the best era of Helloween, such a blessing !
The best reaction ever , no pauses which otherwise breaks all the rhythm. The reunion has given a new life to me and music altogether . Music wins the egos finally .
With their two Keeper albums from the late 80s, Helloween are the model for power metal. Guitarist Kain Hansen (on pink guitar) sings on the first record. Then Michael Kiske takes over the microphone, (who also sings here first) and the two Keeper albums are created. After that, there is a lawsuit between two labels and Kai Hansen leaves the band and founds Gamma Ray, which also becomes a famous power metal band. There he starts to sing again. The chemistry at Helloween is no longer right and plunges into a crisis. Kiske leaves the band in a dispute. When Andi Deris takes over the microphone, the band is at an end. According to Kiske, it is thanks to Deris that the band survives and is slowly regaining strength. In 2015 the band is making a book about their 30-year band history. They also bind the two old singers and get enthusiastic about the old times. In 2017 there will be a small commemorative tour with all three singers. The tour will be extended because of the success and this video will be made in 2019. In 2021 they release a new studio album with the three singers. Kiske does not believe that this can go well in the long term. There are too many alphas in the band and Kiske and Hansen still have their own bands. But be aware of the situation and so far they're all having a lot of fun. As long as the reunion will exist.
The 2 keepers were THE classics, but "model for power metal" they were already with Walls of Jericho. That`s why Kai Hansen is called the godfather of Power Metal
@@bottishg With Helloween there was and is also a Michael Weikath who co-wrote the sound. Both together made Helloween so significant. Hansen wasn't as successful with Gamma Ray because he didn't have the right partner. The reunification has led to their first number one album in Germany.

Mischnik, Gamma Ray actually did have a lot of success and received not less love than Helloween through the years, and Kai did a way much better metal with it than the Helloween themselves w/o him ;)

Have been listening to Helloween since 1985 as an 11 year old Epic band, amazing history - the Reunited tour is a thing of beauty. So glad Kai and Michael made up with the band and made this happen. The entire concert at Wacken is worth watching!
The year was 1987, I was 4 years old, when my brother brought home a cassette with the album Keeper of the Seven Keys Part I. and I listened the sh*t out of that cassette, literally destroying it, because the more you listen to a cassette, the more hiss is generated. Then I waited unbelievable 35 years, and finally got to hear them play live in a village just 10 kilometers from my home. The circle has been closed, I am now finally in heaven! :) So Helloween is the legend of this genre, and those singers - the bald one was the original, then he left the band, and the long haired one came. And the vocal coaches are going nuts about their singing. :) I hope you´ll come back for more, there is a legendary song, again a metal opera as this one was, called Halloween (not to be mistaken with the band´s name Helloween): ruclips.net/video/VAVeG4KS0JM/видео.html
Great reaction. Been a fan since 1986 and just saw them first in 2014 then again in 2018 and it was the best concert of my life. Love this band you really have to check out some more songs from Helloween.
Thank you for this amazing reaction. You are really becoming a true metal head. 🤘I saw this performance and was really impressed by the new lead singer. I think, the old lead singer was the one, that joined the performance later. That could be the reason why the performance has the subtitle "United alive 2017". Btw: There were 4 singers in the end. Well, not quite. Kai Hansen(guitar) founded the band and did vocals 84-86. Kiske (bald guy) then joined, did lead vocals until 93 and after that was replaced by Andi Deris until 2016 when they United the band again basically.
Great Band, great song, one of my favorites. They have so many great songs, so much to discover. How many Tears, Halloween, Eagle fly free, Dr. Stein and many more. They influenced many bands with their style, Lovebites for example as a newer band🎸👍🤘
Thanks so much Sabina. Saw them live back in 87' as a teenager and had no idea they'd reformed. Lucky for me someone is keeping an eye on the metal scene!!! Cheers hon
When i’m on a bad mood, i listen Helloween and i’m refueled, this band has a so Powerfull good energy in their songs. I got lucky to see them in Paris last year. My greatest concert experience wich also ended with this great odissey song. Unforgetable …
This band is a living legend. They helped to create power metal in 80's. But important point is that during the years they changed many vocalists and other bandmembers. And some years ago they reunited with two of them (so now there are 3 singers in band). Thats why tour has "United" in its name. And pumpkin is kind of their symbol.
It always amazes me anytime I listen to this song that everyone in the band at the time it was first written and recorded were 24 years old or younger. Michael Kiske wasn't quite 19 and already belting out like Geoff Tate or Halford at their peak.
I saw them live reunited. All 3 singers: Hansen, Kiske, Derris. The best concert ever. In this video I´m almost shocked how amazingly well Kiske performed considering it was the end of the show after so many prior difficult songs. Pure awesomness.
If you wanna give yourself a treat: Do "Halloween" from this SAME LIVESHOW, and after that do "How many tears", also from this same liveshow. Keeper of the seven keys was the "epic" song in their album "Keeper of the seven keys part 2", and Halloween was their long epic one in the previous album "Keeper of the seven keys part 1", and How many tears is from their debut album. I think this united liveshows do more justice for these songs than the original recordings. I was lucky enough to see this live tour twice, in Helsinki and Stockholm (one year apart). It's such a treat to watch that guitar shredding with your own eyes.
Never get tired of people getting their mind blown by my favorite band. I was 12 when I heard Helloween for first time in 1995, and that moment changed my young minds impression of what music should be, totally.
This song was about two-thirds of one side of the album Keeper of the Seven Keys part II. Keeper of the Seven Keys part I was released in 1987, and part II in, I think, 1988. Damn, but those were great times for metal!
They made them self a nickname at that piont, "pumpkins united" . Kai Hansen, the guitarist with the red guitar was the first vocalist, then the magical Kiske came in, and Deris took over. now they performe together, its magic on stage! Heard them in Oslo last November, probobly the best live consert I heard ever 💪 btw, look at the support possition standing Kiske uses on stage, to realy deliver a vocal. Thats schoolbook core delivery. and aslo listen to Kai Hansen`s other band "Gamma Ray", very good ✌
Kiske was asked to become the "Bruce Dickinson" after he left Iron Maiden ...... and I was thinking about to become the guitarist who was wantet in the fucking 80th. I thought I was not good enough - in the 90ths it was better .... but the place was´t needed anymore - shit! Now I´m too old ..... 😞 But I´m searching for this fucking awesome double CD Keeper of the seven keys I and II. This album made me drive the double speed when I was driving home from Heidelberg ..... grrrrrr .... fuck
Nice reaction, Sabina. If you're in the mood for more Helloween this month, check out another of their classic epics, "Halloween," which they also did during this same United Alive tour (they actually opened the show with it). It has a great exchange of vocals between Michael Kiske and Andi Deris. May be a good choice for October 31st!
This is one of my first "metal" albums. bought one year after release, 1988. The concept of Helloween (United) is a combination of forces, that's why there are so many of them on the stage ... First of all, all three singers from their entire history, but the first one doesn't sing anymore, but plays the guitar. Thx Sabina, that was a your introductin in "power metal", another 🤣🤣
If it's not going to be Nightwish at least it's another outstanding band and vocalist. Well done. This is the concert where all the vocalists and guitarists who had been in the band came together. Amazing.
O Helloween dispensa comentários pois é minha banda favorita desde sempre. Eu estou completamente encantado com a reação da Sabina. Simplesmente linda e encantadora! Perfeita!
Cool video! I love the way you captioned all your thoughts and let the music play. What a great song! I had the album when it was released. But I don't remember it like this. There's just so much texture and energy happening. ❤
Hi Sabina, thanks a bunch for a great reaction. FYI, this is the reunion of THREE LEAD SINGERS AND THREE LEAD GUITARS, for over 38 years of RISE AND FALL of the band. I don't know what metal or rock band with 3 singers and 3 guitars, but Helloween. They have made peace for themselves, and each other, so they have forgiven all over the ego. Actually, "The Keeper of the Seven Keys" is a message for us TO STOP WAR, to stop anger, and to live in harmony. Because, together we are stronger. And after the lacing of covid-19, it is time for: RECOVER TOGETHER - RECOVER STRONGER.
The epicness of Helloween , is fantastic. Mike Kiske is a vocal beast. Fantastic song , full of fantasy , battles with evil demons and monsters , a magic token ,the seven keys and a chosen one keeper of the item to a journey... imagine that could be a high fantasy movie. Credits to guitarist Michael Weikath , who composed that epic song. Epic band.❤
For Helloween, you can start with i want out or eagles fly free b4 checking their heavier stuff.. Helloween been considered as the founder of power metal with the 2 keeper album..
Yeah, would be cool to listen to "Eagle fly free" with Sabina 🙂 By the way, the beginning of power metal was marked in the mid-70s by some songs such as "Warrior" by "Riot" and "Kill the king" by "Rainbow". Later, the guys from "Helloween" and some other bands picked it up and developed as a big and particular style of rock music.
I love watching peoples first time reaction to my favourite bands ^^ (Been listening to Helloween since I was 6 years old. I'm 36 now) I'm sure you get a lot of suggestions, but maybe someday in the future you'll also react to Avantasia. I would love to see that. A lot of different artist combined in this "project" (also Michael Kiske from Helloween)
This song is from the keeper II album. The predecessor Song of the album in bevor of it is missing, from the same concert: Helloween - Halloween (Official Live Video)
Amazing song from amazing band. Great reaction. If you'd like to hear all three vocalists you can listen to "How many tears" from 2018 Wacken concert. I love them.
When I saw your blurb with 3 vocalists I was confused, because even though the band's 3 vocalists are on stage, I didn't recall Kai Hansen (red guitar with eye on it) singing on this song on the DVD. Bald singer who starts the song is Michael Kiske. Long haired singer who takes over and then harmonizes with him is Andi Deris. Guitarist who starts the chant section is Sascha Gerstner. The few times I've heard him sing he does sound great, but he's generally backing vocals in Helloween. So, the 3 vocalist you're talking about for this song are Michael, Andi, and Sascha, but the 3 vocalists Helloween fans think of is Kai, Michael, and Andi.
Hi there Sabina, thank you so much for this great Reaction-Video. 🙂 Please don't get me or / and my writings wrong, because today was the first time and the first video I saw from you - and it was amazing. The way you react and how you discribe the emotions was so good, I was really impressed and it turned me into a good mood. 🙂🙃 Helloween is an awesome band, I saw them playing live 5 times and they always amaze me. I know there are a lot of Reaction-Videos, but it would be realy interesting to see your opinion about videos like "Halloween", "How many tears", "In the middle of a heartbeat", "Forever and one", and so on? As I sayed, please dont get me wrong, this is just a question for interest. 😉 Ok, enough blabla from my side - I will watch more of your videos during the next days. I wish you a calm and great weekend, have a good time and enjoy the weekend. See you soon, I'm realy glad and happy for finding you channel. Do it well and see you soon. 🙂🤘
So, for anyone that is confused (don't blame you) about the line-up for this reunion, which became the current Helloween line-up, it has two lead vocalists, Michael Kiske, the one that started it off in this song and is the second singer the band had and Andi Deris, the third singer that replaced Kiske back in the late 90s. The original singer of the band was Kai Hansen, the guitarist with the pink V. He still does some lead vocals. Kai hired Kiske and stayed on for a while on guitar, then left. After some time, Kiske also left. Both Hansen and Kiske had their own bands after leaving, Gamma Ray and Unisonic respectively. They stayed on good terms and collaborated very frequently, but unlike Kai, Michael left on very bad terms with the guitarist with long black hair, Michael Weikrath. The other guitarist is Sascha, the one who started the whooos at the end. He just does backing vocals in Helloween, but is the lead singer in his own techno-rock band Palast. the drummer is Dani Löble. The bass player is Markus Grosskopf, the third founding member. I'll end it here before this turns into a wall of text, except for saying that the side projects of all the members are very worthwhile, especially Gamma Ray, which is a band practically on Helloween's level in it's own right.
Hey there @Luis Nunes. Despite all of the drama, this is an awesome show, and the band is in top form. It's amazing how good both Deris and Kiske still sound! What Gamma Ray songs would you recommend? There are so many bangers!

On Live in the UK from the late '80-ies Kiske goes into some of the most insanely high altitudes with his voice on the How many tears track.
This album made me drive the double speed when I was driving home from Heidelberg ..... grrrrrr .... fuck
Hello Sabina
this group is incredible I saw it in Lyon 🇫🇷 last August
I still Don't recover from it so much that it was good 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Tuve la suerte de poder ver esta gira de reunion , uno de los mejores shows de mi vida
Congratulations to you because (if I am not wrong) you made the first reaction until the end of the song. Until the last note. Best wishes from Brazil
This song is a miracle
This is one of my first "metal" albums. bought one year after release, 1988.
The concept of Helloween (United) is a combination of forces, that's why there are so many of them on the stage ... First of all, all three singers from their entire history, but the first one doesn't sing anymore, but plays the guitar.
Thx Sabina, that was a your introductin in "power metal", another 🤣🤣
If it's not going to be Nightwish at least it's another outstanding band and vocalist. Well done. This is the concert where all the vocalists and guitarists who had been in the band came together. Amazing.
this is not just for one show , this is how the band is for already many years
helloween is touring rn with this lineup
Just Grapow and Küsch are missing 😁
There was three different eras of Halloween presented, thanks for sharing
Thanks now i want to rewatch the whole concert again XD
I had the luck of seeing Helloween in Boston. Opening for Anthrax in 1989. Instant fan that night.
O Helloween dispensa comentários pois é minha banda favorita desde sempre. Eu estou completamente encantado com a reação da Sabina. Simplesmente linda e encantadora! Perfeita!
my favorite song by Hellowwen..love mickel kiske you amazing voice time young and old now!!!
I was there into the crown that day in Madrid. What an unforgettable day
Must have been so Awesome to see live!!
@@sabina1118 Definitely it was
Great 👍 video been a fan of Helloween for years subscribed cheers 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Helloween....my favorite band
And after the lacing of covid-19, it is time for:
RECOVER TOGETHER - RECOVER STRONGER.
We need more helloween!!!!!
KEEPER OF THE SEVEN KEYS 1 e 2 is the Masterpiece of Power speed Metal🎸🎸🤘🤘👿
The epicness of Helloween , is fantastic. Mike Kiske is a vocal beast. Fantastic song , full of fantasy , battles with evil demons and monsters , a magic token ,the seven keys and a chosen one keeper of the item to a journey... imagine that could be a high fantasy movie. Credits to guitarist Michael Weikath , who composed that epic song. Epic band.❤
Another 1987'r here. Such an awesome band!
For Helloween, you can start with i want out or eagles fly free b4 checking their heavier stuff..
Helloween been considered as the founder of power metal with the 2 keeper album..
Yeah, would be cool to listen to "Eagle fly free" with Sabina 🙂
By the way, the beginning of power metal was marked in the mid-70s by some songs such as "Warrior" by "Riot" and "Kill the king" by "Rainbow". Later, the guys from "Helloween" and some other bands picked it up and developed as a big and particular style of rock music.
I love watching peoples first time reaction to my favourite bands ^^ (Been listening to Helloween since I was 6 years old. I'm 36 now)
I'm sure you get a lot of suggestions, but maybe someday in the future you'll also react to Avantasia. I would love to see that. A lot of different artist combined in this "project" (also Michael Kiske from Helloween)
All three vocals they've had are together on stage there
For a moment I was thinking "3?", but forgot that before Kiske, Hansen was doing the vocals 😁😂
They had Ralf Scheepers for a short time as well
@@tonygaskell6557 no. He was in gamma ray.
This song is from the keeper II album. The predecessor Song of the album in bevor of it is missing, from the same concert:
Helloween - Halloween (Official Live Video)
Iré a verlos el 4 de Febrero 2023 a Madrid 🤘🎸
Thank you for doing this. Helloween is my favorite band ever! 🎃 🎃 🎃 🎃 🤘🤘🤘🤘
🤟
Amazing song from amazing band. Great reaction. If you'd like to hear all three vocalists you can listen to "How many tears" from 2018 Wacken concert. I love them.
I've seen them live 1998... Ohh I'm getting old.
ハロウィンは最高なMETALバンドだと思う。
ハードだけどメロディアスで美しい曲はデビュー当時から変わらず今も最高です。
This was one of my favorites way back then! Kiske's voice is still incredible!
I've been a supporter of this great band for a couple of decades. You don't believe? Ask Dr. Stein.
if you like kiske's voice check him in studio when he was 17 years old and record this song.
Next : Helloween : How many tears - live at Wacken Open Air
So u just listened a masterpiece and the best voice of metal, Kiske.
There 3 singers. There still touring and have new cd
So goood ❤
Ooh, here’s another rabbit hole to explore. Helloween and sister bands like Gamma Ray. 😁
Helloween это молодость моя!и хранитель7-ми ключей бомба!!!навсегда!!!
Brilliant
incredible!
Saw them live in May for the 2nd time, the 1st time in 1987, they are as good now as they were then, if not better.
Thanks it helped me install it
Michael Kiske ❤
Ok, enough blabla from my side - I will watch more of your videos during the next days. I wish you a calm and great weekend, have a good time and enjoy the weekend. See you soon, I'm realy glad and happy for finding you channel. Do it well and see you soon.
🙂🤘
Masterpiece🔥🔥🔥
@@oglschmitt Weeell, you know I'm a crime-thinker G.L., so Dethrone Tyranny is up there. Heaven Can Wait I recommended pretty much every time E mentioned mental health and I fancy Rebellion in Dreamland and Watcher in the Sky, too. There's also the new version of Lust for Life live with Scheepers from the live cd. I'm sure you could add at least as many more from your own favorites...
Very underrated band if the phrase means anything. 😉😉🔥🔥
P.s. Just grabbed a copy of Stratovarius Infinite for 9€ a couple of hours ago.🤭😁😁
@@luisnunes3863 I agree with you Luis. Gamma Ray is another excellent band. Heading from Tomorrow from the 30 years Live album is another masterpiece to be reacted.
@@astrodomusmagius5288 Hey Astro! 🤗🤗😁🤘
Another great choice. There are more, even if one sticks to the ones Kai sings...
Tack igen Sabina! :)
Original singer Kai Hansen (the guitarist with the red guitar) formed Gamma Ray after leaving Helloween. You should check out their song Heading For Tomorrow. There are a great live version from their 30th anniversary concert 2020 feat. original vocalist Ralf Scheepers. Also check out Kai Hansen Victims Of Fate Live at Wacken. A song from the Helloween EP from 1985. BTW original drummer for Helloween were Ingo Schwichtenberg. He ended up being fired after a breakdown and some issues with schizophrenia. He jumped in front of an S-train in Hamburg in 1995. 29 Years old. I saw Helloween in 1987 with Michael Kiske as the new lead vocalist. He had long blond hair back then
Audio / sound engineering so nailed this sound design so hard, It's Iron Maiden "Live After Death" good.
Hello, Sabina! If you want, I recommend you check the version of the song "Je suis malade", of the 2021 edition of Beste Zangers (that TV show in which Floor participated in 2019). The version is interpreted by Belle Perez and Karsu. Belle sang in French, while Karsu sang in Turkish. Was a viceral and soooo emotional version. I'm sure you'll like! About Helloween, I had the pleasure to see them yesterday, here in Brazil (São Paulo). I saw this song live, and it was really amazing!
That's there first a second singer together the high voice is there old singer and the guy who came out was there second singer the s band rules you rock
lovely
uhm newly subscribed member(lol). Love your reaction videos. I hate when people pause the songs and just love to see your reaction when the song is playing and your thought afterwards. BTW you should listen to bad lands from Helloween.
would like to see your reactions to the Bard's Song at Wacken
I have reacted to it!! 😃🙏🏻
ive heard this song at least a years worth if we string up all 14 minutes. This sounds exactly like it did 30 years ago. The message of the song is inmortal. We fight, God wins.
And this song has 34 years....
in this show in madrid, Michael Kiske was sick whit high fever and dont sing at the 100%
Metal Gods is one I like
This is a fantastic performance with two singers and three guitarists... and also think about some of them are around 50-60 yo here.
But I think you get the amazing storytelling better by the original studio version.
More Helloween for Halloween, my favorite metal band.
Thats HELLOWEEN!!!
