- The Hochul administration is clarifying New York's so-called ban on the sale of body armor. The governor's office is admitting the ban actually doesn't apply to the ballistic protection used by the gunman in the Buffalo massacre. CBS2's Tony Aiello has a look at the governor's rhetoric versus the law's reality.

The Constitution does not at all mention body armor which is constitutional to ban. Make sure you check your Constitution before you put your feelings into it

There should be a law preventing schools from teaching gunmen to read so they won't know that New York citizens are no not only unable to fight against bad guys with weapons but now can't protect themselves against being shot and killed. This includes ballistic backpacks, hats, and umbrellas that they may have wanted for their children. You know, just about every state north, south, and west of New Hochul is normal. Sell your houses and move now before the housing market crashes.

The ignorance on firearms in that state is laughable.
The police have no restrictions on ammo types, so select one that penetrates body armor. A 5.56(.223) is not that powerful of a round. It will penetrate soft body armor no problem. Only because, it's fast(approximately 3k feet per second) Ek=½mv2, shows you politicians are full of it! Most rifle bullets travel that fast, with a lot less mass. Here are what those variables mean:
"In this formula, W = weight of projectile, in grains; V = velocity, in feet per second; gc= gravitational constant, 32.174 ft/s2"
Most New York politicians are fairly educated, yet 8th grade Algebra illudes you. I'm just a dumb redneck, from the Midwest. I still like to know what my bullets are doing, especially as a hunter. I wouldn't shoot a deer with an AR-15, cause it wouldn't be humane. It would run a few miles, then bleed out.
