I don’t know if a list like this has been done yet:
    Y Levels to mine at:
    Coal: 136, 95
    Copper: 48
    Iron: 15, 232
    Lapis: -1
    Gold: -16
    Emerald: 236
    Redstone: -57, -58
    Diamond: -57, -58
    Overall: 8, -57, -58
Strip mining tunnels: 2 or 5 blocks apart, 200x100 blocks
    Bring a Silk Touch Pickaxe!
Moss mining: Place moss in a cave, bonemeal it so it spreads, and mine the moss
Deep dark mining: Remove skulk shreikers and mine the skulk
Mining under an ancient city: Set spawn point and make an escape route
Fossil mining: Using Chunkbase, find fossils and mine the ores
Spawn proofing in cave: Place torches 12 blocks apart
Spawn proofing in strip mine: Place torches 24 blocks apart

17:30 a great tip with torches in your strip mine! ALWAYS place the torches on the right side. This makes your tunnels mutch more easy to navigate. Because if the torches are on the right you are going foreward and if the torches are on the left side your going back to your exit. This helps me so mutch because I always tend to stripmine in 1 long long long line so I end up running like 3k blocks back. Before I used this trick I could get distracted maybe turned around or something and I have ended up running the wrong way. Now I always place them right and when I go back I just have to keep the torches left. And its looks better!

The best method that worked for me by far was water cave diving, I would bring with me a magma block or a door (For an air source). Often water caving will lead to huge caves that are filled with diamonds. I would also bring with me many potions of night vision. This is extremely helpful. Yes more mobs spawn but they are easy to avoid and if you're in a huge cave, it is easier to spot diamond blocks with the night vision than with torches.

Miner's poem, by Steve maybe: "If you are digging underground, 8 is where all ores are found. If only coal is what you seek, venture to a mountain peak: 136 above the deep, or 95 where coal you'll reap. 48 for copper's luster, 16 is sure to iron usher, and from the caves into the cliffs, 2-3-2 to get your fix. And now with you a shield to hold, un-16 to find some gold. Un-1 is where lapis hails, and to 236 to make some sales. Diamonds are the final aim; redstone too if you've a brain. If one of these you wish to claim: un-58, they're both the same."

The only problem I have with 1.19 is that they made mining into a form of pain, because of the new cave generation. Like the cave is so big that any ore on the roof/wall is a kick in the nuts to get. Then since there's more stone to get through, it'll be difficult to get a nice mix of most ores.

Silk touch mining is great, and for things like Lapis, I'd highly recommend it. However, in other situations, Fortune may still be viable to bring in caves.
Usually what I will do is mine up as many ores as I can and as soon as I get more than 1 stack of ore, I compress it into block form. This works with every single material type in the game except for quartz, which you wouldn't get in the overworld, obviously.
In general, it may be more efficient than holding onto the silk-touched ores. For example, 64 diamond ore holds at minimum 64 diamonds, and with fortune 3 giving maximum of 4 each, thats 256 diamonds effectively held in 1 slot. However, diamond blocks hold 9 each, which is 576 potential diamonds per slot. Of course, you gotta do the compression manually, but early game this is ideal.
Just food for thought. Great video!

When Mining at layers that are dominantly/completely deepslate, i find a Fortune pickaxe to be better, because cobbled deepslate can be cut into every variant of the deepslate block with the stonecutter, and normal Deepslate obtained with Silk Touch can only produce ~4ish blocks. This seems odd because the opposite is true for Stone/Cobblestone.
However, this will mean that you will fill your inventory will a lot of raw materials, so I just be sure to bring a crafting table and slap it down now and again to craft raw materials into their storage blocks, saving inventory space.
This is only a good method if you like the Deepslate block variants of course.

Important to note that all caves below y=-54 get filled with lava so it’s best to strip mine above that so u don’t get covered in lava
Also it’s best to use a trapdoor to go into crawl mode and mine a 1x1 strip mine instead of a 1x2 since ur exposing more blocks per block mined and mobs can’t spawn in a 1x1 tunnel

Since the big part of coal generation has reduced air exposure, wouldn't it be better to find coal under snowy peaks with a shovel ?

It does, but only if they are very Rare like Ancient Debris, as they still generate randomly in Chunks. So, if you are looking for Deepslate Ores, the best place to find them is along a 2x3 Horse Path along Chunk Borders at Y 2,3, & 4 under Mountains. While this is not the best Level to find most of the Deepslate Ores, it is the best place to find Deepslate Coal, and Deepslate Emeralds still generate there under Mountain Biomes as well. And if you can Automate a few Geode Clusters within Range nearby, you can use the Horse Paths to later set up a Rail Collection System for them. And use Silk Touch to Mine them with if you want the Deep Slate varieties. Or just set up a Beacon and clear the whole area. Then you can check for Slime Chunks as well, lol.

    • @mxtof2452
      @mxtof2452 Год назад

@@_Abjuranax_ These are definitely good advices, and I shall put them to the test. Since the cave update, I'm really struggling with mining. Before that, all you had to do is go down Y11, put a beacon there, and quickly gather anything you need by waving your pickaxe towards anything it can touch (and easily locate slime chunks in the process). But with the deepslate, we can kiss the speed-mining goodbye. And the new ore distribution makes it impossible to find every types on the same level. Yeah, I know: that's the intent. But that deepslate is killing me.

Take a composter with you for moss mining (maybe a station with a chest/hopper/composter/hopper/chest). You can get more bonemeal to keep going by bonemealing your moss.
I know it's common in minecraft to call branch mining strip mining, but strip mining is when you take the top layers of dirt and stone off to get to the veins below. The minecraft equivalent would be world eaters. I know it can seem pedantic, but if, in real life, everyone goes around thinking strip mining is running around underground and a company comes to town saying they are going to strip mine people are going to be in for a surprise when their entire landscape is ripped up.
