Absolutely loved the intro! I'm a Two Notes fan as well. I have the Torpedo Live and love it for being able to crank my amp to record or just practice without disturbing everyone in the house.
That's awesome! I cant wait to get one and switch my amp into 100w mode for the first time. Thanks for the great video as always, I wouldn't buy a nice piece of gear like that if it didn't get a thumbs up from someone whose opinion I trust like yourself.
According to the Two Notes rep at NAMM (the video is on RUclips) the cab sim on Captor is the same as on the Le pedals, "basically just an EQ circuit with some resonance" (yes he said that) while the C.A.B. is proper IR + cab sim.
I know im 3 years late to the party, but im excited to try this bad boy out for my own. Decided to get the standard captor over the captor x for budget reasons, and i didnt need all the other features of the captor x. Mainly going to use the wall of sound plugin anyway, but i cant wait to hear it for myself, and be able to use my amp and record at any moment in the day without worrying about volume, and hear what other cabs sound like with my amp.
I just ordered this thing on a whim because I want to use my head to record in my condo, and I was still pretty sceptical about it. Your video has given me a little hope though, sounds great.
As always such a great video mate! I have just ordered the 16 ohm model. This is a dream come true for me as most other load boxes have been a bit out of my price range! I can't wait to plug my JSX head in and let it wail the way it was created to! Keep up the great work! Great song too by the way!
How was it? I have a JSX as well. I'm not really liking how my 8 string sounds through VSTIs. It's very rare that I get to mic the JSX because it's too loud. Do you have any sound clips or video?
And how loud is the result? I've been thinking on getting a Captor to use on my Fender Blues Jr., not just for recording but also for playing at home.. 15 watts is too much for that. Don't know if the fixed -20dB attenuation is good enough, or not enough, or way too much!! What do you think?
I have the 8, i had to bite the Bullet. I do have a 16 ohm cab to, Are there any bits of kit that can vary the ohm's? Like between 4 -n 16:? I don't know how i managed for so long without one of these. The Amp is dialed totally different. Using the Captor did make it easier to translate the sound in my head. It's a superb item. Thanks Rob.
I got one yesterday, but cranking up my Engl Blackmore is still not possible although I hooked it up correctly. Weird. So Attenuation is not that massive. But DI out an Line out are cool.
Two Notes hasn't given you the new Captor X product. I've watched several videos and even the one by Shawn Tubbs ( Geek or Nerd ) LOL I was very surprised it only had 3 levels of attenuation on it. FULL CONCERT LEVEL, HOME LEVEL AND FULL ATTENUATION. I watched his video and may have just missed it but it would be nice to know how loud "Home" level would be. I've got a passive attenuator, a Weber Mass 150 and you can dial down to the desired output level you want but it doesn't have all the cool Two Notes stuff on it.
IR part of this is OK, all IRs just have that digital aspect to it, BUT the attenuation on this product is super transparent, blows away the THD products.
Hey, man! Maybe sometime in the future you can do a vid on some of those dyno riffs you were pullin' off in that intro! I especially like the alternating string pull-offs. Very sweet, my brother. I was always one to believe that there is ALWAYS something you can pick up from another guitarist. So, I am going to be scoring some of your packs, as well. One at a time, as my mortgage company wants more money than I have on any given day. ;D By the way, after I make a purchase, how is it delivered?
Great review of a really useful piece of kit. Really informative. Can I ask for some advice? I’m torn between this and the two notes torpedo live. I want to run a Marshall super bass into my Mac (via audio interface) so I can crank it up and record the dirty tones. Would this or the torpedo live be best?
Hey man, I know this may be a bit much, but do you think it’d be possible to go from the captor, line out to my API pre-amp, out to the CAB and then into my DAW to get my API tone added to the sound?... or do you think that’s overkill? I’m only asking because I’m literally about to pull the trigger on both of these items. Thanks and that was an incredible jam at the beginning of the video!
Hey Robert great video/demo but i have a question since i do have the torpedo CAB and planning to buy the Captor... If i use my Guitar > Pedalboard > Amp > Captor > Torpedo Cab > Interface > Computer? Is that possible? I mean if i plug my pedalboard on the input of my amp is that gonna work? Even at the back my amp will be connected to the Captor? Sorry for my lack of knoqledge when it comes to recording im a noob and learning is fun and challenging. Thanks a lot for your help. Cheers
Is this just paired down version of Torpedo Live (like an intro unit into the world of Two Notes equipment)? Not big into recording or PC, but wonder if the Live or Captor would be best to attenuate the signal for home use while cranking amp and still have sound going to a real cab?
i really dig that blue finish, but the RMS input is only 100w. Ive got tube amps that are more powerful than that. I would love to use my SUNN 2000s for guitar but it cant be turned up at all due to the monster power generated by the 4 KT88's. Would this still work?
i really wish someone could do a sound pressure comparison, because i use a 6505 in my room and yes its loud as shit, i was thinking about getting this but i saw it has a capped -20db attenuation now i have a mesa 4x12 cab so i dont really want to use inbuilt speakers or software, is the 20db cut enough of a difference that i can get good tones at low volume?
"I'm not really a computer kind of guy" as your sitting in front of a mixing station.... never used a plugin before? You don't need to spend an extra $400 on the cab sim if you are not using it for a live performance.
What if you want low volume sounds louder? lol. You can't turn it up because its louder. Nice tune you made for it. Starting to sound like Pete Thorn. Yeah, That is what you didn't want to hear. The old sounds like line. lol. You don't. You sound like Robert.
Maybe but hey at least you get a really good idea of what it can do with all those reviews, and if I'm honest when I'm shopping online I tend to buy the product that has more positive reviews, so I cant complain.
Absolutely loved the intro! I'm a Two Notes fan as well. I have the Torpedo Live and love it for being able to crank my amp to record or just practice without disturbing everyone in the house.
thanks Steven and I love the Live!
The playing on this is stupendous , great song, the 2 notes is amazing but this song you did for it is amazing.
Sounds absolutely amazing Robert! Great playing also - love that track! Have an amazing day dude 😊
I absolutely love your intro and original tunes...kick ass brutha
Two Notes is killin it with this thing! Gunna have to snag one for sure.
dude you will love it
That's awesome! I cant wait to get one and switch my amp into 100w mode for the first time. Thanks for the great video as always, I wouldn't buy a nice piece of gear like that if it didn't get a thumbs up from someone whose opinion I trust like yourself.
My preorder is in! Great video as always Robert!
thanks dude you wont be sorry man this thing will make life so much easier for you :)

That song at the beginning was the best thing I've heard you play yet.
this is the best demo you have ever done, that intro song was amazing. Almost had a "Djent" feel in the beginning but better
Man, I LOVE the solo from 2:00 - gorgeous!
I know im 3 years late to the party, but im excited to try this bad boy out for my own. Great job! I saw 5+ RUclips channels with the same piece of gear and you get my view!
Best info right their 6:25....
Lovely tone and fantastic playing, super tasteful!👍🎸
Old vid. Killer playing. Good stuff man.
Cool !
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹
I just ordered this thing on a whim because I want to use my head to record in my condo, and I was still pretty sceptical about it. Your video has given me a little hope though, sounds great.
How's it working for you so far?
Petition to get that intro track on Spotify?
That intro was downright disgusting. Disgustingly AMAZING!!!!!!!!
I'm loving the sound, and the playing, keep it up👍👍👍🎸🎶
I so need one of those!
As always such a great video mate! I have just ordered the 16 ohm model. This is a dream come true for me as most other load boxes have been a bit out of my price range! I can't wait to plug my JSX head in and let it wail the way it was created to! Keep up the great work! Great song too by the way!

awesome sound :)
Considering the new Captor X. Only if I can hold out long enough. May go Suhr if not... love the extras including wet/dry and stereo reverb.
On its way from Sweetwater, should get Wed, into plexi reissue 1959slp and 2x12 jcm800 cab. Hope you’re writing some originals, intro was great.
2 min and change, killing it. Nice and thanks
Just got one. Using it with my Vox Ac15 with a boost in the front is awesome.
And how loud is the result? I've been thinking on getting a Captor to use on my Fender Blues Jr., not just for recording but also for playing at home.. 15 watts is too much for that. Don't know if the fixed -20dB attenuation is good enough, or not enough, or way too much!! What do you think?
Way to shine Robert... your best video to date...super pro...pete thorn level bro...luv it...thanx
love the playing Robert
Lovely guitars and amps, but in the end, I came to a conclusion. I want that Rocko's T-shirt.
Fantastic! I have a 2 note CAB and was curious if the captor would do exactly what you were using it as.
thanks so much cheers!
Awesome riffs!
Cheers from Portugal 🍺🤘🇵🇹
That song at the beginning kicked ass!
Dude your melody is awesome
OK, liked the vid! Question... do you need an FX Loop for this to work? 👍
Wow! Amazing playing"! Great composition! and a great review!
I have the 8, i had to bite the Bullet. I do have a 16 ohm cab to, Are there any bits of kit that can vary the ohm's? Like between 4 -n 16:?

Thanks Rob.
Nice and loved the track by the way... well done
Awesome, love your content!!! You are so fantastic. Keep on rocking.
Thanks for the video Robert.
thanks for watching :)
so if you can afford the Captor and the Cab then why not just buy the live or reload? excellent demo btw
I got one yesterday, but cranking up my Engl Blackmore is still not possible although I hooked it up correctly. Weird.
So Attenuation is not that massive.
But DI out an Line out are cool.
GREAT job!
Dude, the intro track is perfection. Trying to figure it out!

I'm getting one today!!
Nice video. I'd like to hear how low you can set the volume and retain sound quality.
Hey, man! Maybe sometime in the future you can do a vid on some of those dyno riffs you were pullin' off in that intro! I especially like the alternating string pull-offs. Very sweet, my brother. I want to run a Marshall super bass into my Mac (via audio interface) so I can crank it up and record the dirty tones. Would this or the torpedo live be best?
Hey, man... now you use the live unit, right? Does it feel more organic and real than Captor and CAB?
Hey man, I know this may be a bit much, but do you think it’d be possible to go from the captor, line out to my API pre-amp, out to the CAB and then into my DAW to get my API tone added to the sound?... or do you think that’s overkill? Great intro track.
So i just bought this combo instead of captor x what you think
I gotta get me one of those , Hey Robert , question , what if you want to run 2 cabs ? Great song by the way .
That intro is like a punk rock song but with really good guitar haha
Great track!!
Hey Robert great video/demo but i have a question since i do have the torpedo CAB and planning to buy the Captor...

Hey man awesome demo, will the captor do bedroom to whisper levels or is it not enough attenuation for that?
nice intro jam!!
Is this just paired down version of Torpedo Live (like an intro unit into the world of Two Notes equipment)? Not big into recording or PC, but wonder if the Live or Captor would be best to attenuate the signal for home use while cranking amp and still have sound going to a real cab?
Do you need to power the captor to use the dry line out to the torpedo cab??
ROB you are amazing
Sounds like your auditioning for The Darkness haha and Sum 41 all in one video
So wat' the difference between that and BadCat Unleash?!
do you know if captor + torpedo CAB sounds the same good as torpedo live?
Can I use this one in order to achieve an FX loop ? My all tube amp has no fx loop.. Can you make a 4 cable method with this?
It has a dry line out, so I suppose you could hook up some pedals to that, but you would need a seperate power amp
0:28-0:41 that shit is badass
Could the the 16ohm Captor be use with a 4ohm amp?
I wish I had the few hundred dollars to get this. It would be great being able to use my micro dark without pissing off half the apartment building
You don’t need to hook that into a load - it has a solid state power amp
Is this a Neil zaza song?
i really dig that blue finish, but the RMS input is only 100w. Ive got tube amps that are more powerful than that. I would love to use my SUNN 2000s for guitar but it cant be turned up at all due to the monster power generated by the 4 KT88's. Would this still work?
never tried. dunno, i will see if it still works with only 2 kt88's
Was that last playing clip the built in cab sim??
Oh, it's great just to hear you play free after all those lessons. Like a caged animal released :)
:)
Great song! Holy crap you can play!
I have a cab clone and was wondering if you can use a cab clone the same way you do here with a torpedo cab?
Bryan Becerra Yes, as long as you’re using the DI.
👍
The best
If you use both to a board live, are there any latency issues?
Two notes products
i really wish someone could do a sound pressure comparison, because i use a 6505 in my room and yes its loud as shit, i was thinking about getting this but i saw it has a capped -20db attenuation now i have a mesa 4x12 cab so i dont really want to use inbuilt speakers or software, is the 20db cut enough of a difference that i can get good tones at low volume?
It's totally enough man you'd be surprised the difference it makes
2:37 when he actually starts talking about the product.
What were your amp settings? I have that revv amp and i bought the captor
Man i sadly dont I dont have this exact amp anymore I sold it and bought the newer version of it.
Nice Cheese Tune.
sounds great but it's $3000 worth of equiment.
I'm not your buddy guy!
The attenuator is HORRIBLE .
Great vid but these companies need to learn to stagger these products they send out, you are the 3rd person to release a video on this in one day.
I agree with that. I keep seeing up to 8 videos on the same thing out the same minute and then I've totally lost interest.
Maybe but hey at least you get a really good idea of what it can do with all those reviews, and if I'm honest when I'm shopping online I tend to buy the product that has more positive reviews, so I cant complain.
