Remastered by Brandon Tobatto of TobattoVision™
If you've ever listened to 'The Darkest Side of the Night' by Metropolis, whether on RUclips or on physical media at home, then you already know how badly in need of an epic remaster that 1980's city-themed anthem is. Now, for the first time on RUclips, the song has been remastered for the horror community; the bass will boom, the highs will shred, the subtle hints of reverb will haunt! This is the perfect track for Night Time being the Right Time!

Enjoy! When Jason took Manhattan... he meant it! ;)
AMAZING pure 80's song!!! A Nostalgic sadness to it as if saying goodbye to that era
I miss that era greatly.
Wow, beautifully articulated
@@FarmersAreDummies I'll always be jealous that I didn't get to experience it
It was special. I remember being so excited seeing the TV spots for this when it came out.
This is exactly how I feel every time I watch the intro to this movie. I think it’s the reason part 8 is my favorite in the series. It just captures the 80’s so well. Love the “nostalgic sadness” wording. Explains it perfectly.
If this Younger generation ever asked what 80's music sounds like, just play this.
"And there's no way you can fight, just show some respect, and try to survive..."
1989 was a killer year, I was there.
Lots of serial killers that year.
It's like this... we live in claustrophobia, the land of steel and concrete. Trapped by dark waters, there is no escape, nor do we want it. We've come to thrive on it and each other. You can't get the adrenaline pumping without the terror, good people, and I love this town...
One of the best theme songs for any film, ever.
i think not
@William Dupree I’m working on apart to show to the Directors element of Surprise
This Raw Ass Song !!
I definitely think so.
@@creepah1118 Well, you just don't have taste in music so of course you would say that.
Such a great song from such a Bad ass Era.. God I wish I could travel back to the 80's and visit for a bit 😂
Let's go!
I’ll travel back with you
Yo me too man, my dad was so lucky, he was born in 1982, and had a fun childhood, now he's 42 as his birthday was 3 days ago. He loved the Friday The 13th Franchise too!!!
Fantastic song from an okay movie in the Friday franchise! Also, Rest In Peace to Peter Mark Richman, who played Charles McCulloch, as he passed away two days ago.
@T It’s not my favorite but if it’s your favorite, I completely support your opinion.
Respect your opinion sure but, one can’t ignore Kane’s performance in this one, he owns it like no one before or after him. He makes this movie for what it is and then some imho
Jesus Christ I didn’t even know he passed. His soul may rest.
@@WilliamC84 Didn’t see your reply until now, but you’re right. Kane did really make the role of Jason his own and brought so much to it. One of the best Jasons for sure!
It’s easily one of my favorite ones in the series, if not the favorite
RIP Julius
Guess you could say he needed to get aHEAD on his boxing skills before trying to tackle someone the likes of Mr Voorhees
Despite what others say, this is my FAVORITE of the series!
Wasted potential, but still a fun time
I enjoy it simply for the fact that it was in a different setting that still made sense to an extent even if Paramount didn't go all out with the subtitle and decided to be a bunch of cheapskates with the budget.
Same with me but it’s def because I’m from Long Island and I watched this for the first time when I was 7 so it hit home in a way. It’s not the best the series but I think it’s def the most fun.
My favorites are parts 5 and 7 but I do like part 8, I think all it needs is paramount to go back and add new scenes in Manhattan with a bigger budget and restore and remaster the movie as a directors cut maybe
It's my fav after part 1 and 2 lol so my fav hockey mask Jason film
It's 80s af
Rennie Wickham: Look, you don't understand. There is a maniac trying to kill us.
New York Waitress: Welcome to New York.
Noo Yoowuk
What's really unique with this movie in terms of the kills is that they are ironic deaths for the characters. J.J. is a headbanger and dies with her guitar banged against her head, Tamera does cocaine and is stabbed shards of glass, Wayne is a filmmaker and dies while being filmed, Julius is a boxer and gets his head punched off, Uncle Charles was a toxic uncle and is shoved in a barrel of toxic sludge.
I just can't get enough of this theme, brings so many long gone great memories... Ah man the nostalgia almost squeezes my heart
Same here.. Chills...

Sooooo many memories and yes it really does squeeze my heart 😪 but it is important to remember and feel the feels, it keeps me young.
It's just has that classic 80's nostalgia sound that's really cool 😎
Jason looks really nice on this picture. Never seen him look that lovely. Don’t know why he feels he has to hide his face with a mask all the time x
It’s that time of year my friends, to bump this jam in preparation for Halloween!
This song is 🔥🔥 it’s annoying I can’t find it on Apple Music!
That’s because it’s not on it lol
This song really does take you right back to the year 1989.
A celebration of suffering and hell. Jason gets it. That handsome guy.
I love this movie. It holds a special place in my heart because it’s the first Friday the 13th film I saw, and I saw it in a theater when I was about five years old. I’m from New York, and even after I got older and rewatched the movie many times, it never bothered me that much of it takes place on a ship or that they didn’t have Jason interact with a lot of iconic New York monuments and locations; to be honest, I think that would’ve gotten old after a while and come across as hokey. I love the film we got, and I love it just as it is.
Damn straight!
Don't get me wrong, I love this film too as I enjoy schlocky, campy, trashy movies (especially b movies and Grindhouse/exploitation films) but that gaping plot hole (and there were a few) about how they managed to cross the entire Atlantic ocean to NYC in just an emergency life raft made me burst out laughing while my mom groaned out loud. The fact that the cast & crew even had a Friday the 13th Marathon before they made the film (since they were so convinced that they were gonna make the best one in the franchise) adds to the "so bad it's good" feel that this movie is full of, and the fact that ONLY 5 - 10 minutes of it takes place in New York. I like how it never takes itself too seriously.
@@leeccdoo- They didn't cross the entire Atlantic ocean to New York since they were already in New Jersey. If anything, they could have taken a bus or a van to drive to New York instead of a cruise ship.
Who did you go see the movie with
@leeccdoo Who gives a shit about plot holes . It’s Friday the 13th not citizen Kane FFS.
Who would know that this song would give 80's vibes, MTV, G.I Joe, He-Man, Good Slasher Films, TGIF, man life was fun back then🤘!
This was one of the first Friday movies I saw and it has a soft spot with me.
Part VIII!
This theme just draws you in
I love this song, I'm not from the 80's, I'm from the 2000's era another great generation, but to actually see what the 80's has to offer to see, I know it would be just as great as the 2000's era, what a great time to witness the good ole days, what a time It was😭!
I love this soundtrack from the movie, if I was living in New York especially the Manhattan nightlife I would play this song while I’m driving around late night the perfect vibe!
I did the same thing in San Francisco, only I hummed this tune walking on the streets. Killer tune.
Definitely one of the strangest installments of the series but it’s one I still love
1980s how... how can you not like this decade....
We need a vaporwave version of this

This was one of my favorites out of the whole series. I love this song too btw!
I love JTM for the characters and setting more than anything else. "Who the f*ck are you?" 😂 The 80's rock big time.
I love this song and movie, born and raised in queens New York.this song is incredible to me and growing up it was my anthem and still is,thank you for this upload and remaster🙏❤️
Jason is just looking at the NYC skyline and listening to this, thinking about some stuff.
He's seen some shit, man.
@@BrandonTobatto They always ask who Jason is, but never how Jason is.
Jason on break from his 16 hour shift. He’s a tough guy.
I can't get over the unmasked Jason just posing like an album cover to this epic tune. Well done sir, I am appreciating all you've done for the rare horror tunes we all love. They really do sound better than other versions availaible.
I love this song, but it also makes me very sad. The 80's were a great time to be alive, I miss them so very much.
RIP to Peter Mark Richman.
I’m old enough to have edited a music video of this song by connecting my VCR to my VHS camcorder and playing the movie while recording and pausing the blank tape.
Nice!!

The harmonies are wicked 🤘
I am listening to this since Jason is now in multiversus
1980s Music, Specifically songs like this just make you wanna do something chill late night lol
It’d be cool if they played this at some point in Scream VI. Considering both are slasher films taking place in New York City. Also Paramount distributed both.
and i thought I've heard it all, how could this Classic ever pass under the radar.
Best era of music and movies
We really need a return of Jason Voorhees from the original timeline no remakes go back to the basics!!!
I love this film and this song 😃👏🏻🇧🇷
When I go to New York ima play this really Loud
Back in 87 I was a bit of a street corner, leather jacket tough guy. My grandsons are all tough guys too.
Oh, a tough guy, aye?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!
If you say so
Would love to walk around New York at night with this playing on repeat in my headphones.
Make America the 80's again
While Jason takes Manhattan may not have been the best movie of all the fridays it certainly had the best soundtrack of them all!
Wow, it really does sound fantastic! Excellent thumbnail pic too!
What a song! I still play it today. It's in my best of the 80's compilation. Excellent remaster with lots of bass. Thanks.🤗🤗🤗

I got to admit, I really enjoyed this one. I will always defend part VIII, despite what the haters say. I would watch this over any of today's bloated 3-hour superhero yawnfests.
I totally agree 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hell yeah!! Couldn't agree more.
Part 8 is Pretty Underrated,But it’s one of my Favourite From Franchise
OF COURSE
Part 3 is Best
But I enjoy it too
I’d go so far as to say that VIII is my favourite in the franchise. And Jason died for the final time in New York.
@@SamA-cv2ur - I’m a minority in this opinion but I actually like this version of Jason’s face. It’s weirdly jack-o-lantern-like and he’s just so rotted and far gone that he’s not even scary in lieu of the mask anymore - just oddly pathetic. It’s fitting ‘cos he’s in the city that will ultimately be his final demise. It’s over for him.
I like seeing Kane face, New York City, and the Twin Towers.
Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, and Candyman disliked this.

JASON è ETERNO
Jason brought here let's rock and roll
When I was younger and a new horror fan, I strived to see all the Ft13 movies. I bough dvd after dvd, combo dvd after dvd, to find Jason takes Manhattan. It was the one movie I couldn’t find in physical media. But years later as an adult I got it on vhs. The MOMENT the opening credits were rolling and this song came on; I was so captivated. The movie itself is kind of a stinker but this song ROCKS.
Great sound quality. Nice job.
I don’t understand the hype on the 80’s, it’s really not that good but this is an absolute gem.
Probably the last generation with it’s own identity or any confidence at all
💯 💯 💯 💯
One of my favorite songs ever!!!
Still listening to this in Summer 2022, while still living in cesspool NYC, somethings never change.
But at least inbreeding is illegal there, unlike in Georgia 🤣.
@@FarmersAreDummies haha...43 years born and raised, 1st gen legal immigrants...trust me...lots of cousin fucking/marriages happening from lots of new arrivals...stuck here for now, looking for greener pastures down there someday. And the cesspool of crime, told all new New Yorkers it was coming back like when I was a kid. Crime is almost pretty much legal over here...you're out in 24 hours for most felonies nowadays. You have your Constitutional right to protect yourself down there, value it. Again, not like this Authoritarian Rich commie-elitist enclave.
@@FarmersAreDummies It's actually legal to marry your cousin in NYC, believe it or not. So no, we don't even have that.
@@kemocity1482 I am from NYC and agree with you 100%. Also in my 40s. I can't wait to retire and leave here for good. It's not the NYC of the 80s. All these new tall ugly skinny glass buildings are appropriate for the times because NYC is like commie China now. Give me old New York all day, every day. Give me the thick imposing Twin Towers made of STEEL that made the skyline look badass. Not this wimpy glass "Freedom Tower" which looks like dog poop. I was forced to take the clot shot (as were you I'm sure) so hopefully I live long enough to even enjoy retirement. Somehow I have my doubts. I'll probably drop dead "mysteriously" from a heart attack in the near future though.
I love this song.
That’s the best I’ve heard that song sound awesome
Wish there was some way to buy this song, just love it
Jason takes manhattan 1989❤
Most don't liked the film. But most of them like this song. But me I liked both!
This song holds a very special place in my heart, not just because it is from my favorite Friday The 13th movie but because it is truly the embodiment of what 1980's New York City the place was everything from highest towers heaven to the deepest darkest pits of hell and it was an awesome city because of it.
I remember it being exciting and foreboding at the same time.
Kinda like how Las Vegas in the 1970's before all you can eat buffet and family vacation packages was a den of absolute luxury for the big time winners and a shallow desert grave for the big time losers.
Im not praising these places for the darkness but simply acknowledging the lure of it.
Ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight? oh indeed, I did, and I'll never forget it.
I love this music track so much it's 1 of my favorites theme songs of all time hands down 1 of the best then the film itself.
I loved it so much back in the day that I learned all the words. This song made the movie special IMO. I love hearing it still.

Someone should contact Peter Fredette and Fred Mollin to do a live cover of this song for “Friday the 13th” fans in Blairstown on Friday the 13th in August this year.
That would never happen
Why not? CJ Graham showed up and he played Jason in Part VI. And in a few weeks there’s a mini-con at the Blairstown Diner with a ton of alumni doing autographs, photo ops, etc. These guys have nothing else going on, I’m sure lol
@@EvaSlayAllDay334 Neither do you, lol!
As a kid this was the BEST Friday the 13th of the entire franchise. Now if Jason could just take on LA i would be happy.
This song is fantastic and i have Volume Booster on my phone
Very good film, with good interesting characters, a unique setting that works effectively and I really enjoyed the part of the film on the ship. It really gave the sense of isolation and nowhere to run, many of the characters backstories should have been expanded though. I understand though the main criticism, that most of it should have been set in New York City and the ending makes no sense. I presume Crystal Lake or the film's opening location it set fairly near to New York, but even still the ship ending up in New York Harbour is a bit silly but the film was clearly riding on the success of part 7 - A New Blood, and tries to use that success to craft something new and this film - part 8 tries so hard but ultimately stumbles.
Why can’t I find this song on iTunes
