    This was the first RPG I ever played as a kid. My older sister and I played it together like we did a lot of games back then. Good times. I still have it somewhere with the original box.

    Ye gods, I almost wondered if this game was a fever dream that I had... I played the demo an absolute ton back when I was like, 12 or something. Thank you for posting this playthrough.

    Hey Man - thanks for completing what I could not - this series. When I was actually doing my LP, the website on which the maps I was using shut itself down, and I got lost in the middle of Moria! What's funny though is that I still have my savegame file from when I last played the game 3 years ago! Seeing you finish this game now makes me want to finish it up myself LOL :)

      I just found this video because your series stopped TifasRevenge!

    I remember playing this game on the Amiga 😺👍 -
    sadly, not on the Commodore 64 😹.
    Also, the animated sequence is taken
    from a Ralph Bakshi movie of 1978.

    This game seemed so BIG and open to me when I was a kid. Just unbelievable how much loot and dialogue and danger you could stumble into. Or, you could proceed directly through the linear story, but I was too young to understand how to do that, in spite of having struggled through the massive, confusing (for a kid) books.

    Yeah, this was really hard for me to figure out as a ten year old. It didn't help that I never really read the manual and didn't know the story. Reading documents of a disc was a bit of a foreign concept instead of just jumping on the game. We had the interplay CD which feature the CGI cut scenes. There was a small manual, but it wasn't much help. I made into Moria but never got farther than that and have never tried again. Gandalf's eyes that would only stare at you and blink really made me and my brothers wary about putting on the ring.

    I grew up playing the original. 3.5" floppy disks. And a big book that came with the game that contained most of the game's text.
    So many dialog boxes that, in game, say "Read section ##"

    Daaaaayum I didn't even know there had been a PC version, let alone two! And they put like the entire intro the the movie in there, too. o_O
    I played it on the SNES!

    • @camwyn256
      @camwyn256 2 года назад

      Well, on the CD version. The original came on three 3.5" floppy disks and a giant manual that had the bulk of the game text.

    I played this growing up as well. I had the cd version as well which had better sound. It seems the cd version is more rare and I cannot find it. I still have the jewel case

    Never heard of the "enhanced version". Where did it come from? Where did you get it? What was it made for?

      There were 2 versions of this game for DOS (My old school 80486 PC Operating System!) based solely on the media they were released on. One of them was originally released on floppy disks, while the other was released on CD-ROM and had CD Audio tracks as well as cutscenes from the movie.
      Oh BTW, I'm BACK! I'm gonna finish this LP now Tifas-Revenge style!

      @@RydiasRevenge and the CD version also had all the game text in the game. The floppy disk version came with a book of the bulk of the game text

    I had this game with an old windows 3.11 laptop. Wish she hadn't thrown that thing out, but you know how mother's can be when it comes to old junk. She alsp threw away my old xbox, another 2011 laptop that had a bad screen, and my first computer I built.
    Meanwhile she's still clings to her old junk, ugh. Women can be hypocritical as heck without even realizing it.

    • @camwyn256
      @camwyn256 2 года назад

      That's not so much women as it is horders in general.
      I guess it's because they need the space for their own hoarding.
      Or because it's easier to see faults in others and easier to ignore them in yourself
