Killer technique!! Open handed/ uncrossed. Whatever you wanna call it, I switched about 5 years ago and while super difficult at first leading with your left instead of your right has it's advantages and the way you approach the kit completely changes..

JT Murray it's never to late, I'm 45 I started open handed at 41.. one thing in particular made it a pain in the ass.. most of the beats you've mastered while drumming will have to be relearned with your left, it's very frustrating but fight through it.. it's worth it, I just wish I would have done it 20 years ago lol
Daniel Grajeda Yeah in all honesty, playing open handed should be oficial way of teaching drumming. More difficult? Yes. But so what? I wonder in what other activity doing things the easy is way is the way to go. Crossed playing in drumming is the only example i can come up (that dosn't mean that crossed is good for nothing, but should be second to open handed)

It's sextuplet fill that starts on the downbeat. First identify the general groove. You'll notice that the bass drum is hit on the upbeat quite frequently. He hits the "& of 2" with his kick drum. On beat 3 he starts the sextuplet fill that lasts all the way till beat 2 of the following measure. The sextuplet fill is made up of high-hats, stacks, kicks, and one snare hit.
So it goes like this:
beat 3(LRLRLK) - beat4(LRLRLK) - beat1(LRLRLK) - (Snare)
