So glad Schaffrillas just sent a bunch of people to this song, it’s my absolute favourite Mario Kart track by far and I’ve been trying to get people to understand just how much it slaps
I'm glad he reminded me that this track exists. I used to choose Moonview Highway all the time on Wii as a kid just because I liked the music and vibes of the map. I was happy to see it rank so high in that video.
Ever since I heard this version in 8 Deluxe I was stunned how ridiculously good they made this song. Every single thing is perfect and the two versions flow incredibly well together. I never would have thought Eurobeat and Jazz would flow this well together but its a truly genius composition they went with for this. Its actually tied with a few other songs for my favorite Mario Kart song ever and thats an incredibly high bar. This series has a very high standard for its music but this legit may be my favorite.
The only track that I wanted back for the Booster Course Pass was Moonview Highway. While it took a while, I'm so glad that it not only did come back, but that they did the visuals and music of the track justice.
@@3JAD21 I already predicted it wasn’t coming for the longest so I’m happy I was wrong and it replaced a nitro instead of a retro. Me personally I would’ve preferred Dry Dry Ruins but Moonview Highway is still my 4th favorite Wii track and my second favorite Wave 5 track after Athens Dash so I’m still really happy that that ended up being the placeholder track and not something else lol
It's actually pretty interesting that the roles of the music are flipped around. I would've expected the synth part to take place in the loud, busy city, and the jazzy part to be in the serene outskirts of the city. That's what I love about this track. When you really think about it, it goes against expectations and still does it really well!
Watching Schaffrillas's MK music ranking, seeing N64 Rainbow Road at 2nd place and realizing my own favorite song in the series hasn't shown up yet was one of the best feelings I've ever had watching a RUclips video
Looking past the fact you can’t really hear what used to be the main melody this is probably the legit best remix in the wave. Also, gotta love how cleanly the drum solo transitions to the non-city variant. 1:45
Been waiting for the medley to go live! Now, I can get to fully experience the same feeling of how music uploaders transitioned two versions of the original.
@@Heavy_weapons07Not quite. I might be mistaken, but I think the main theming about that game has a heavy use of trumpets instead of a saxophone as the main melody. Though, the xylophone part at 1:12 reminds me a bit of "Looting the Louvre" or some other tracks.
They took the non-city part and turned it into eurobeat, it’s actually sick. And the city part is awesome too. Calm and Jazzy, it’s perfect. Prefer this soundtrack over the original, just like with the recent Wii Rainbow Road music remake, the only thing that would make this track better is if they just ADDED MORE CARS.
I don't know how to explain it but both versions of this theme feel like they are straight out of Pokemon Black and White. I'm not complaining because both are absolute bangers
Así que te diste cuenta pues la versión original tenía esas referencias a la música de minijefe de Kirby está hecha así a propósito buen oído mi estimado
Four months ago, I dropped one of what’s probably my worst takes on the Internet. I remember saying on a comment section somewhere that with a course that looks “this good”, who cared about gameplay quality? Four months later, I realized I was very, very wrong. The courses looks *and* plays great at the same time!
I really doubted I’d prefer a remastered version over the original, since for me at least, the OG version has a legend status. That drum solo proved me wrong.
I had the dumbest smile on my face the entire time during this course, and it just got wider when the city part kicked in (They did tone down the chaos by reducing the cars, which was disappointing. But the rest of the course more than made up for it)
Genuinely over the moon(heh) that this course sneaked its way into the Booster Course Pass. I'm glad Schaffrillas was wrong, and I'm sure he's glad he was wrong, too. And this medley is great! Reincorporating the City ver. drum fill as a lead-in, b-e-u-tiful!
I lost my mind when I found out this course was going to be added. It has been my favorite for years and I wasn’t expecting the remake of the song to be this good. I am pleased
Feels a bit sacrilegious, but I think putting this over everything else is a bit wild. I can't deny it's really good. But I don't think its as good as yall are saying.
@@CuberBeats I think I remember actually Punch City being in CTGP but I felt like it was a location in a Wario game or something lol Then again that’s Diamond City
I will not upload the frontrunning and final lap versions on RUclips. It's taking too long to make all the videos and my page will be blown up, and so do the notifications from people who have them on. I will upload the other versions to Google Drive when there is a better rip of the music out tomorrow or later
Okay yeah now that I hear the song without driving straight into bombs on the freeway, yeah I can see how peak it is. 3DS Rainbow Road is still hands down the best song in the series though sorry not sorry.
I don't really agree with Schaffrillas take on this being the best song overall. The outskirts part kinda dumbs it down for me compared to the original version on the Wii. However, the city version is absolute PEAK, my favorite part of a Mario Kart course song.
PoV: You watched Schaffrillas' hour long ranking of every Course Track and want to discover what the hype is abou- oh my GOD
I thought I was the only one
It’s giving Undertale ❤
DDR meets The Incredibles.

That’s why I’m here and OH MY GOSH IS IT A BANGER
I just cannot believe how HARD the non-city part goes
Dude. Your right!
Non city???? The city part goes WAYYY harder my friend. The sheer skill on that sax is insane.
@@jagerzaku9160Have to agree with you. Love how it sounds jazzy
City part somehow goes harder though
@@jagerzaku9160 on lap 3 the city part goes hard af, but the non final lap city theme doesnt feel right imo, idk why
People dont talk enough about the city part, its like sitting on a chair drinking tea being calm while everything around you is on fire.
I can't believe both versions are so good on their own ways MY GOD
Best race of the new DLC ! 😄
Nintendo truly went all-out by leaving the city variant as a massive surprise, and then blessing us with jazzimus maximus.

@PT_926 The beginning part of the city edition reminds me of the rhythm thief level intros
@@Heavy_weapons07 Ahh, I see what you're talking about. It actually does have a resemblance to me, too.
Man the retro track for the course is much detailed and its shinning bright at night. And the music has a awesome drum solo. 0:56 and 1:45🥁
Maybe I judged you too harshly Schaffrillas
Nah he put Waluigi Pinball abnormally low.
Thank you Schaffrillas! This is my favorite song I heard in a long time!

That drum beat still holds up to this day. What a wave

words cannot describe how much i love playing on this course

Its a banger ! Better than the Wii music
Favorite course in Wii growing up, the vibe was always immaculate.

City section: Chill and jazzy
Wow how come I never knew about this banger until Schaffrillas' video

The Wii version is a clarinet
sounds kind of like sonic music

Non-city part is a hard downgrade imo, but damn the city part is 🥶
