Was my first ever silage cut/season yesterday and it was fun. The farm that I helped is in Sweden and we had 2 wheelloaders (brand new volvo L70h and one volvo L120. Then we had 5 tractors carting and one claas forager. It sas great fun😁 Good video Tom👍
i’ve just realised, this is the third season i’ve seen tom chop and clamp silage which means i’ve been watching tom twice (sometime three) times a week for three years and i’m still entertained every week! hats off to you tom! you’re content is amazing! and i don’t even work in the farming industry, i’m an engineer. keep it up man we love it!
Thank you for this episode Tom! It captured both how busy getting in the silage is but also how much of an enjoyable event it is too for family, friends and the community! Took me all the way back to when I was helping out with the hay on our farm and our neighbour's farm. Damned hard work and blisters from handling bales on my hands, but also the wonderful picnics in the field with my long passed great aunt's delicious sandwiches, pies and home made barley water as well as the fantastic suppers after we'd finished. To capture the atmosphere in a video is quite a feat in itself!
Isn't that the truth! It's awesome to be brought back to those special moments with even more special people! I feel the same way and it's nice to see a family farm run with high standards!
This is a very good reason for why I love watching your videos Tom. You're not afraid of hard work that it takes to grow your farm and it takes nothing at all to be kind to people! That little girl Eva is going to remember that moment and your kindness forever! You're a genuinely good man Tom. Give the Ging a shout too. Have a great day!
Saw the drone up when rattling down Ballam Road, did wave but must be on the cutting room floor, so to speak. Don't apologize for no videos because of your Wedding, just live stream it instead, 'another day in the life off' series. Good luck and all the Best!! 🤵👰 🍾🥂👍
If anyone who loves there kids as they should like me we all make amazing father's and mother's also, every kids dad is the kids Idol, my little girls 8 and wants to dress like me, she said I want this baseball cap coz it's like yours daddy you wear nice clothes good fashion I want to wear what you do, picked herself some sunglasses other day with her mum, she said I'll have them they like daddy's 😊
I grew up on a farm and now I live 6 miles outside of Manhattan. I watch your videos to feel relaxed, tho my muscles are sore just remembering what it’s like
That is a smart young fellow! He wasn't used to this ruckus and just a little belt holding him in while these giant metal machines were raging; he was concerned and probably didn't hear half of Tom's lecture! The young future farmer ( or not ) will not likely forget this experience for years to come. Good job Tom and noble, making time in your busy schedule for the next generation! At my next tea with the Queen I will mention it to her. :)
Kudos for taking a couple mins with the little girl, & letting the boys ride along. Been there, I know chopping silage is a busy day. But helps them develop an appreciation. Stay safe, as always can’t wait for the next video.
Absolutely fantastic aerial drone shots!!! Really enjoying binge watching! My grandad worked full time in a factory and then every hour after that he was working on his friends farms!! For free. He just lived for farming. Fortunately he suddenly passed away on the farm. He wouldn’t want it any other way! Farming is not a career it’s a way of life! 24/7! Thank you!
Good Afternoon Tom, your friend Ash with his big Class tractor 🚜 with the compactor on the linkage certainly does do an excellent job and you must be so happy on how this video has come out for your subscribers to watch on Friday afternoon, because I certainly enjoyed it and thinking back now to when I was on farm if we had of had one of those compactors to roll the clamp with then obviously it would have been a definite game changer and with a possibility of a better silage crop for the cattle 🐄 to feed in the winter time and until next time Tom TaRa for bit.
Tom, I love your videos, your family, your farm, your hard work and your hard core enthusiasm. I started watching last October while taking care of my 80 year old father. He hated television with all of its agendas but he loved RUclips- lots of boring videos with no words- just railroad repair or mega truck antics. Your videos were the only ones we both liked! I especially love hearing from your dad, all his wisdom and your respect for him. Maybe one day one of my 7 kids will start a farm and I’ll understand some of it since I’ve learned so much from you already. My dad turned 81 in Dec and I lost him in January of this year, but I still watch you every Tuesday, Fri and Sun .And some day I hope I can cross the pond and visit your farm. I keep you in my prayers. Stay safe and sane and sweet!
👋 Tom I’m FIONA I’ve just got a farm my mind sister die last week and I took her farm over at 16yrs she had 900 dairy cows 1200 sheep 900 pigs in 2000ac in Kent so now I’ll know how hard u have too work, keep farming live!
Tom, and his young co-pilot, doing a cracking good job whilst keeping up the good relations with the other motorists on the roadway! Looks to be a bountiful first cut too!
Hey Tom can’t believe this but railway wheels that ash had on his compactor rig I think my work sold them to him and we alway wondered if his idea ever worked. Great video as always makes me want to work on a farm
Tom, you & the kid riding in the tractor were awesome.. There at the end, when you were both waving, the LOL from here was real..! Thank you for that.....
l love it when they're in the field and Tom gets the music going - so cool! At one point the lyrics said "never let it go to waste" while grass was flying off the back of the truck...The Ginger Warrior won't be happy. I bet Tom timed that song with the drone shot. OMG, the boys are so cute.
Your farm by the time you finish all your upgrades will be wonderful when your children take over your a great don and will be a Awesome dad eith sll the heritage you be passing on to the next generations
I loved showing these videos to my high school students when I taught. Made a lot of lessons and talking points from your videos explaining silage and dairy production and we’re able to compare that to a local dairy and what they do.
Wish I could smell the grass. One of my favorite smells! I enjoy listening to your father. He is so knowledgeable. Thank you for sharing all your videos.
Tom you never fail to deliver! I love this part I think it must be the music that you put with it.. Only thing missing was Dad smelling and tasting the grass.. Amazing job and at least the weather blessed you for once!
Best video you've done so far! Music was great, so much happening! The drone shots are improving with every video, never seen the pit empty and I've been with you a few years now! Seeing the young Irish girl reminds me of my daughter, so enthusiastic about farming (I'm a towny) all thanks to youre videos 📹 keep them Tom! Hope you have a brilliant hendue 🍸🍷🍻🍾🍹🍺🥂
Probably the best video on silaging I have seen. The camera shots are great and the technical commentary from Tom is very well pitched. The compactor is frightening. And I love that first trailer of grass moment.
we took out the straight inline seat and put in one that pivots. liked it so much went to a junk yard and found another pivot mount out of an old dodge van and swapped out the other tractors seat. styling
Awesome; I had a similar problem with a seat, when I was with an elderly client in grocery store she was not heavy enough for the electric cart to move...got a 10# bag of flour and put it on her lap, worked 😉
What a top notch video. It's that time of the year again, Where I live we have 4 days and nights of this and they go all night. Great video Tom and team.
Love the parts where you put the drones up and show the field work! Sure is coordinated driving when you are emptying the silage into the truck!!! Love the little boys!

it might be expensive but take the opportunity and get the pad poured, you wont regret it in the future and its always nice to have a pad to store for storage
Absolute cracking video, drone pilot knows how to work that machine that's for sure. looking forward to seeing the result of the clamp in a few months.
As someone who works for contractors, the bloke on the JCB is doing a smashing job of keeping up with that big harvester. Those 320 or 310 machines are much much slower than a wheel loader.
I really love watching your videos. This was something I did love watching. Your drone footage was incredible! Coming between to two machines was great! Very impressive. So cool spending the time with the boys and girl like you did!! Loved it all!!
Another great vid Tom, looks a lovely crop! And very well compacted. Had to laugh when you were driving your tractor / trailer into the field and looked in your mirror and said “Wow that was a bit close” - I was shouting watch the trailer, watch the trailer Tom!! 🤣😂 Top marks for the drone pilot - fantastic footage!
Tom looks like the case has a sliding head rest to make it easier to hook up trailers though I might be wrong it looks like it does slide so they you wont have to come off the seat as much hopefully meaning less beeping
Tom, you had better put good edge on your shear grab next winter as that silage pit will be like concrete to cut....but you’ll have zero waste. Fabulous video ☘️👍
