My belated mother made a salad like this when I was a young girl . I really didn’t care for it only like tomatoes on my sandwiches and HB. once got older like them in salads plus tomato sandwiches. When I crave those, I feel like my mother’s closer to me.❤❤❤❤❤

Oh wow! I eat that all the time with pickles, cucumber, tomatoe and onion. Sometimes I squeeze lemon juice on there to help it keep for a time. You can remove the pickles but I like mines tangy 😊

You can’t go wrong when it comes to a cucumber salad, and there is so many options on the ingredients. My favorite is a simple cucumber, onion and occasional tomato with apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper splash of water. I like using mandolin for thin slices of the cucumber and onions. An additional add in of feta or blue cheese is another way to change it up. I was missing your sidekick

I have made a variation of this many times. Having hyper allergy for tomatoes, I use red bell pepper instead. Also I use some crumbled feta cheese if I have some in the fridge, it's fabulous 🌼

Update: just ran to the store, got the stuff and made the salad. It's DELICIOUS! I used only the apple cider vinegar instead of the dressing. Also, I didnt use the olives. Just Delicious!
I don’t cook, but this is one dish that I make that everyone loves. I use coarse sea salt and cracked black pepper with Italian dressing!!

My grandmother had what she called an ice box. Across the top of it was the name kelvinator. I think that was the name of the company.

She was referring to a "Kelvinator" fridge. It was one of the first refrigerators brand to come out on the market. My grandmother had one and yep she lived in North Carolina! Love the cucumber salad !!

Do you have to use the mother apple cider vinegar or any apple cider vinegar?
We add a little water so that the liquid will cover more of the vegetables without getting too vinegary.

I wonder what substitute you can use instead of the apple cider vinegar I can’t stand the smell of apple cider vinegar.
I love using Italian dressing, zesty❤️
I also make it with rice vinegar sometimes and that is delicious also. Rice vinegar is a bit sweet which gives it a nice touch!

Now that squash dressing casserole looks like a lot of sodium that's in that casserole, is there any type of way to lessen the salt that's in that squash dressing? Because I know I can't have a lot of sodium no way no how and use the other Seasons take the place of the salt because it's Seasons so well and some of them have salt that's Incorporated with the seasoning that you are using .❤❤🎉
I would suggest using Mrs Dash all the way also using low sodium cream of celery soup and just leave the salt out instead of using stuffing mix use, unsalted saltine crackers❤❤❤❤❤
