Those chaps look, sound and FEEL like Ben Frenchman. It IS just like looking in a mirror, which two Ben Frenchmans and some other chaps are standing in front of performing Jamiroquai covers. Thanks for uploading this!

Yes these guys are definitely good enough to do this professionally and serisouly. They are some of the best vocalists I have heard and being a singer myself I can only dream of ever being this good. Side note: didn't think Americans knew about Jamiroquai. This is my favorite song of theirs'=)
My favorite bit is the Jamerquoi-ish slide between Rick and Jerome...that was great. It's always kind of awkward when there is a break in the song and a singer doesn't quite know what to do with themselves.

The latter groups have talent but definitely not the same presence or PERSONALITY. I watch these guys over and over, and some of the new class' videos I look forward to (for great song idea) are let-downs. I assumed they'd all be as powerful. So unless those behind the scenes change with each new class too, I.D.K.
My understanding is that they, individually, didn't earn money for this gig (nor college credit) . Any money the Octet earned was used to record cd's, buy costumes (the lovely endemble they are wearing) and for Octet related travel expenses. The UC Men's Octet is pretty much a spirit group. They love their school and singing so much they're willing to devote their time to it.

The Octet may not be willing to give away the 'recipe' of their success, even if the 'ingredients' can't be matched -even by later groups. This group has a definate charm and character that I don' think is evident in later groups. Fall 03 comes close. Check out the different "Let's Stay Together" by the Octet to catch the differences.

Parker reminds me of the kid brother...Parker also has the second solo in the Fall 2003 Octet's version of My Girl, and also a duet (is that right?) with Jordan in 500 Miles.
@onemanband0101 they have auditions for the voice parts which are open that year. Check out kennyk316's Spring Show Opening video. It kind of shows the audition process....sort of....in a hurmorous way.

There is a program called Ares Tube. It lets you download the videos and convert them to the format you select.
