Yuji Nishida (西田 有志, Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese left-handed volleyball player. Currently Nishida plays for Panasonic Panthers at club level.
Nishida made his debut with JTEKT Stings at V.League on 6 January 2018 in a match against Osaka Blazers Sakai. His impressive debut at the young age of 17 soon earned him a position in JTEKT's Starting 6,[5] as well as Japan men's national volleyball team. Nishida led the national team to seventh place at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, its best result in 29 years.
The Japan men's national volleyball team (Japanese: 男子バレーボール日本代表) represents Japan in international volleyball competitions and friendly matches, governed by Japan Volleyball Association.
Their nickname is "RYUJIN NIPPON (龍神 NIPPON)", meaning "Japanese Dragon God" or "Dragon God of Japan" in Japanese.

Yes, by looking what the result of last year vnl, when japan won 3-2 over argentina
It's common to see teams without their full rosters in the first week. Ran and Yuki are not part of week 1 lineup because they recently wrapped up their club season in Italy. They will still play for Japan but not just for this week

people are forgetting yuji has been a long time ace of japan since he was 19 (he's 24 this year), he only had a couple blunders that led to his mental slump last year which made people think yuki and ran were the only aces of the team. but now yuji has stepped up his game again and has improved greatly!! go japan!!

i think he was dealing with some minor injuries as well last year.
One thing I noticed is Yuji Nishida has changed his play of game drastically in a great way! he now plays smart with scoring tips off blocks, roll shots, and just more smarter. Where opposed to before he would try and full swing every set and get blocked. Really glad to see that he’s improved!
Because nishida is tired of becoming power hitter, he is now an accurate hitter, like miyaura, finding the open holes of their opponents, he also used a lot of soft spike than a full blast spike!
I think his wife, sarina koga, teach him to play smart volleyball
But his fast swing is still unbeatable and helpful when needed 😊
His serve accuracy has also improved. Before it would be a lot of misses/netballs for him. Now he doesn't go all power every time.
He now plays more like Yuki ishikawa

最初はアルゼンチン相手にどうなるか不安があったけど、日本勢の活躍で安心して見られました。
特に去年と変わったのは富田選手と甲斐選手だと思いました。富田選手はサービスエース3連続だったり明らかに去年のサーブより早いしスパイクも力強くなった。甲斐選手も高さのある力強いスパイクやレシーブもこなし良かったと思います。
石川選手や高橋藍選手不在の中でアルゼンチン相手にこの勝利は良かったんじゃないかなぁ。

Yuki Ishikawa, Ran Takahashi, Yuji Nishida, Sekita, are so strong and magnificent however, it will be unfair not to mention the rest of the team, I will do my best to name them and I do apologize for the ones I don't remember their name. Mr. Yamauchi, Yamamoto, and Onodera are also amazing. I should also say that Kai, Tomita, the boy who plays with number 5 (sorry, I don't remember his name), is doing very well.
