I just did my big chop 1hr ago. It's freeing to know I no longer have heat damaged hair. I'm just following whatever knowledge anyone has to offer.

I'll miss your hair. I've shaved my head before at 17yrs old (grew it out) and then transitioned and did a big chop april of last year. I started watching you when my hair became your length, so I can only say thank you for the advice on your cute styles. Good luck on your new journey.

I'm so glad I came across this video. I'm really ready to do the same thing because my hair is in the same state. I have trimmed parts of my hair and intended on just cutting it all down but I chickened out for the same reasons and just trying to convince myself that I can salvage the back and now I'm sitting here with the top of my hair shorter lol but you look amazing and I'm hoping my results are as gorgeous as yours!

I literally want to big chop for the same reasons as you! My hair used to be so long and thick and the other day, I was looking in the mirror and just realizing that it has hardly grown at all in the past year. Lol OMG you remind me of when I cut my hair...I just took some scissors and started cutting away...the first snip was hard but once I got going I got excited just like you. Only difference I wasn't into being natural at the time I was just tired of 2 different textures. I wore my wigs and weave. You look lovely. Your hair is going to thrive!

Yess I’m cutting my hair because of the crown too. My hair is too many different lengths and the crown is only like 3 inches oh no gotta go. Plus I want to try something now. Thank you you just gave me the confidence😁

I feel like hair gets stuck at a certain length when proper trimming isn’t in place. Not everyone but a lot of ppl benefit from regular dustings and trims. Every 3 months or so to take whatever damage is, off. Or even dusting if there is no damage to ensure you stop it before it starts. And to use hair shears. Regular scissors are shaped different and cause more harm than good. Nonetheless, I LOVE your haircut! But in the future if you weren’t already try incorporating more frequent and efficient trims

omg I don’t know if it’s because my hairstylist was cutting too much hair off or because my hair just wasn’t growing but when I was getting it regularly trimmed it was just getting shorter and shorter. now I don’t trim it I don’t dye it and I don’t wash it that often. my hair is kinda damaged but it’s growing like weeds now. any guess of what could have happened?
Toga Emrich too much of anything isn’t good. You only need to dust every 3 months. Like .25-.5 of an inch you won’t notice the length difference and it keeps those ends crisp before they start wearing and tearing

I felt a scary good when I did my 1st big chop 2/1/2016. I felt beautiful & free which was surprising to me bc I was afraid of how I'd look. I shaved all my hair off. My growth has been amazing.

my hair stopped growing and I decided to cut it off today,was scared on how I'm gonna look buh felt so free after I did that,in my heart I was like I'm gonna wear a wig after this,I looked at myself on the mirror after cutting it and I loved myself,I was like this is me😂😂

well done you, its hard to do even though everyone makes it look easy. i did mine end of last year and when i looked down in my lap i thought i was going to die ! lol . it was so much damage hair and it needed off,i couldnt do it properly myself so still some dyed part and heat damage at ends but my hair immediately got softer and grew back fast. I finally found a mobile hair dresser who will come out to do my hair and be patient with me being disabled so going to get it cut shorter and styled soon (which i will probably panic about again lol i only been hairdressers 3 or 4 times in my life!) goood luck on your journey xx

It’s been 2 months now since I’ve big chopped and I can honestly say I was soooo nervous right after because of what others might say but I didn’t care, i feel in love with how it looks, even tho it’s A HUGE STRUGGLE just to style it lol. But at the end of the day, we bald headed queens with gorgeous curls😂😂😂😂
