Note - you can use the comma and period buttons on your keyboard to move youtube videos frame-by-frame. I spent 10 minutes watching the air compress and bend light around your truck - incredible footage man
the shot at 14:22 if you go frame by frame, when the bullet reaches just on your truck canopy you can sort of see the vortex that the spinning is creating! Super cool video
BRO! Great angles! I think it is very cool how you can see the trajectory of the bullet in flight - arcing up and then down to impact the target. Also, you can see how the twist rate pushes the round initially like an arrow being shot. SO. FREAKING. COOL!
Not to point out the obvious but you could just shoot directly into your camera through a mirror. There's no danger to camera and you get a head on view
This one video is far more entertaining than the past year of Garand Thumb's stuff. He's educational but you can kind of tell that he's spending all that sweet, sweet RUclips revenue on getting yoked on 'roids, getting inked and... female companionship, to put it mildly. It kind of detracts from the dude's charm a tad. This was absolutely awesome.
Excellent video. I was suprised and i think you were more surprised than me that you actually got the shot. An interesting perspective, a view of getting shot at without actually getting shot at. Well done!
Wanna hear something weird ? I have never been able to see the compression wave from the shooter view but it is clear as day from the receiving end . I have been shooting for over 45 years and you are right , one of the cooler shooting videos I have seen .
Incredible footage, great video all round. I wonder how often people unfortunate enough to be taking close fire like this see it in action with their own eyes. The camera being zoomed in maybe makes it easier to spot than with the naked eye? Really fascinating stuff. Hope you do more interesting experiments!
Dude. I have always been amazed at the trace, shooting long range. never seen the other side, other than heard it. I think your "history" helped you alot of your sharp shooting ability. You are good!
edit: the live fire course in army basic is done at night, but the course is well lit enough to see it. They also use tracers, which is kind of bonkers to see, too. It's even crazier to see it in person. Even the live fire course we did at the end of basic where the shots were tens of feet over your head, looking up and seeing them streak across the sky above you is a level of pucker factor only seeing it come straight at you could top.
If you use a mirror at an angle, you can dig a little hole for the camera and face it straight up at the mirror. That way if you miss, it will hit the mirror and not your camera. Super cool shots regardless!
Great video. Impressive double tap. I wish i had the link, but someone else made a video shooting tracers in the day and at night, both from shooter and target pov. Was a cool video.
What a cool view. I would love to see this shot slightly different. 1) Focus at the middle point of the bullets path. 2) Use higher apertures - f/8 or f/11 - you’ll need to use a higher iso and shot on a bright day. This will make the focus sweet spots larger. (Depth of field) 3) Slow Motion - video with larger frame rates. 60fps at 125 shutter speed or even 120fps at 250 shutter speed. This will allow you to watch the trail in slow motion.
@@imagemaker73 eventually I will do all of that. My channel is new so I don’t have the funding that the bigger channels do. Right now I spend my extra money on rifles and ammo
If you are far enough, see the muzzle flash, you should be able to step aside. Then it is up to the sniper to guess which way you will step next and you could step into it. Not a fun game to play.
Trace is caused by changes in air density, vapor trails are caused by an area of sudden low pressure behind the bullet as it travels downrange. Any moisture in the air turns into droplets, tiny ones, like a super fine fog.
simple no on seeing a bullet coming to hit your scope from over 800 yards, the drop puts most of the bullet's flight path outside your scope's field of view unless you're playing with a 1x or really low
I'm an archer and I would always see my arrows fly through the air but I wanted to see what it looked like coming towards the target. So I did something similar and set my camera up next to the target. It was scary taking the first shot but the footage was 100% worth it
1st time watching your channel (hitting subscribe), amazing video and perspective on the trace. I also run a 260rem gas gun built by myself. Only 2 ideas, 1st more shots in that perspective, and 2nd pair with ballistic high-speed. Obviously some sort of mirror magic or something to make it safe for their cameras if that is even possible. Sending this to my buddies. Thanks for the content!

Dude. I didnt know that so one thank you for the info and 2 you just wrecked an hour as I go back to old videos to play lol
Amazing. Can't believe I've never heard of that before. A shame I can only give 1 thumbs up...
Hell yeah! Thats some constructive comment! Thanks for the hint i did not know that one! Cheers!
Keyboard?
Thank you! J & L will skip 10 seconds on Swedish keyboard but probably the same on en_US
Use a mirror next time!
Set the camera 90 degrees to one side with the mirror at a 45 behind the target.
AWESOME footage BTW!
Exactly what I came here to say. No point risking an expensive camera when mirrors are cheap and plentiful.
@@ClaytonMacleod But broken mirror is 7 years of bad luck!
@@BarrelTitor91In this case, a broken mirror would be 7 years of RUclips trending. 👍
I have no use for superstition.
Same thought
DUDE! I've watched literally tens of thousands of rounds of bullet trace going downrange but it's a mind-blower to see it coming at you. Sweet video.
🤣🙄
😂lol quite literally a mind-blower.
I mean people have seen it just not to tell about it
@@reggienotorious6824bro what are you talking about you can get shot at without dying
@@SandmanDidDat Just gotta dodge fast-fast
Even knowing that is on camera it is still freaky watching the bullets fly straight at us. Great job catching the images.
Camera man has balls of steel
😂
Brave tripod
So that was the "pling"-ing sound heard in the footage... steel indeed.
Didn't even flinch
You can even hear them.

the shot is at 14:20
This should of been how the video started, & then go into the 26 minutes of everything else
Not all heroes wear capes 🙏
Best ballistics video I've seen this year. Dude. That's A+ material.

Glad it recommended your channel to me. Cool idea. Nice shooting.
Look forward to some more of your stuff.
What a trip!!! The cool part is that the sound has to travel back to you, so the steel ping takes literally twice as long to hear.
That was a sick shot man! You seem like a really chill dude; Thanks for putting the time and thought into the framing! 🤘
I agree, excellent shots and shooting. What magnification were you using?
Oh, he's a chill dude, alright, dude.

Mad genius brother, totally sick footage from the alternate perspective! Imagine seeing that coming at you through your optic. 😵
15:24 I wonder how many ppls last thought was “wow how cool, bullet trace goes both… 💀”
Ballistic high-speed needs to do this
Too late, already been done.
Cool experiment! Physics of ballistics, gasses, optics; freaking brilliant! Kudos!
