      So true... I hate what Hollywood has become. The fact is that all studios do this now so what makes a good movie is how much less it sucks than the others. They get away with it too because people will go see a movie because it's all that's out. It's now what we are used to also

  • @MrHokeykokey

    I love how, at 4:25 , after Lebeouf explains what a prick he would be to people at auditions, the interviewer (without a hint of irony) points to the Transformers poster and says "And here you are now!" as if it's a compliment!
    Just look at Lebeouf's eyes as the guy says "One of the biggest movies of all time!". He's thinking to himself "I treated people like shit and sold my soul to get to the top, and for what price? Now I'm a public hate-figure and will forever be associated with one of the most derided, soul-less, money-motivated abortions of a movie franchise in history!" You can see in his eyes here that he is waking up and starting to question his life choices.
    I know everyone takes the piss out of him nowadays, but I actually admire the way he's washed his hands of corporate hollywood, is now making choices for the benefit of his soul rather than his bank balance, and is trying to be true to himself and carve his own path through life. I think he's a troubled but interesting man.

      it doesn't matter

    • @JohnDoe-mv4ks
      @JohnDoe-mv4ks 8 лет назад

      +MrHokeykokey Yeah, key point: after his fat bank balance made. You can't sell back your soul. Not sure what any of this even means. Bartering for your soul is supposed to be a metaphor for losing sight of the Good with a capital 'G'. But what adolescent has a clue about anything? However if you have a soul and you sold it, that's it. Can someone sell it for you before you notice what's going on? I'd say if you are young enough, sure. Just look at all the child actors. The intelligent ones self-destruct. Better to say he's merely looking for authenticity, as we all are. I don't pity him. Remember he was made to feel to be the replacement for Indiana Jones! He has that on the horizon. If he chooses to walk from the entertainment machine, there's a sort of 'I'm a fraud' in that as well, turning your back on the dreams of your agency (family?) that you took to be your own as well. The discovery he's after is largely the famous person's lament (and it's quite boring and predictable to watch)- I think he's convinced himself there's some deeper level of humanness to be found in being ordinary, but settling for the millions, he'll learn to cope with that 'what if' scenario far better than we'll cope with the 'how much better my life would be if I was rich and famous'. Honestly this is probably the last thing I'll ever write about Shia. The first and last. Perhaps that 'Eye of the needle' biblical warning rings true, souls or no souls.

Nobody else and thats it , if you add new people its not going to bring more viewers on the money . Transformers is a very very beautiful idea and shia fulfilled that idea perfectly, maby im used to how he plays bcs tbh i only seen him since transformers as a actor and no other movie of him expect for a song with sia in the cage . But if you thinking to bring transformers to the energy that its been bring back shia and megan fox . Dont put no damn dwayne johnson or someone new bcs those people are doing it all and it wont drag anny attention , transformers 1 and 2 were the best series ever . I still watch em , 2021 speaking . I think Shia Labeouf is absolutely brilliant! I thought he was amazing ever since the first Transformers. Well actually since Even Stevens but was too young to realize. But 'amazing' morphed into brilliant after I saw him in the Sigur Rós - Fjögur píanó video. And not for all the reasons everyone was making a fuss. It was because of the gravity of the contrast(s) between the 'class clown' with a mouth that we became so accustomed to and this individual such a slave to artistic expression that he is literally willing to bare all (w/ a focus on the depths of his portrayal of his character) in this atypical piece. it made me gain so much respect and appreciation for him. Also made me wanna watch his other stuff that I missed. Okay, rant over. In short - he's awesome!

    i remember being amazed by the second movie because of the humour and storyline and the emotion towards the end in the fight out in the desert. however, i guess it is important for a movie to have a direction and a certain script. only actors know whether a movie is good or not because of how they feel making it. I did like the 3rd one best, it is underrated. on the other hand, i heard grease was made spontaneously with little or no script. Thats part of the magic of storytelling and filmmaking: creating something without a plan. they probably could have at least written their own script even with the writers strike, just shows how dumb they are, these hollywood folk. but they were pretty good at coming up with something half way decent for the second movie... they did well. but lesson learnt.

    i actually liked the 1st and 3rd transformers movies the 2nd and 4th are terrible (although the forest fight in the 2nd was dope!) but they dont make me angry. its not like i wake up in the morning and think of killing michael bay or anything. i just think of them and go "meh".

    Don't care what Shia or anyone says. Revenge of the Fallen is by far my favourite out of all 5 films. As a major action fan, it was definitely action packed the most out of the series. Absolutely despised TF3 - 5. Found them much more boring compared to the first two. Also, the original cast was the best.

    This interview explains a lot, transformers was pretty damn good, but 2 felt awkward and something I couldn't put my finger on...bad story telling? Yep, but then he says transformers 3 was handled much better....that was much worse, I mean the whole premise of them being on the moon during the moon landing had me saying holy shit that is just beyond terrible.... I tried watching 4 twice and fell asleep both times even though it started ok and seems like it was going somewhere.

    I'd love to hear what he thought about the last one....that was terrible. If Shia cared so much about being serious, why did he do the last 2 Transformer movies, the script and acting was terrible in both.

    • @butterybeans2791
      @butterybeans2791 9 лет назад +2

      The acting wasn't terrible as much as it was the dialogue and script, Transformers is one of those series that quickly became a guilty pleasure, but also a confusion for development hell. Since it wasn't even really true at all to the source material, being almost a entirely new series. He was the main role, that's why he stuck. And come on, that pay though.

    • @butterybeans2791
      @butterybeans2791 9 лет назад +1

      I still blame Bay in almost a whole though for not scrapping it, since everyone knew it wasn't a true adaption. Even though the films can be entertaining, they're all a huge utter mess in terms of plot holes and being true to the original material. If only the brand was as cared for as it was to get the real Transformers movie. I think we will one day.

    • @butterybeans2791
