    That's the way to do it and put in that culinary work Rich! There is just that extra something special with grilled corn. Plus the color pops out and conveys a nice mood or vibe. I like how you arranged the meat and corn. I like orderly patterns. Maybe it started when I played Dig Dug back in the day-lol! Yes, drums in the 180's range, I like to cook them to that temp. Absolutely great still pics and video clarity. What camera do you use? Keep up the great masterpieces!

    I just came across this cook. Nice, simple, looks delicious. Have you ever cooked your corn on the gasser? I soak my whole corn in shucks in water for a couple of hours. I get my gasser to 400-450F. Cook for 40-45 minutes until husks start to really burn. Shuck over a garbage can with my thermo gloves on. Very hot. Clean as a whistle. Put a mixture of real butter & Lawry's garlic salt & pepper. A crowd pleaser. Give it a try. Keep up the good cooks bro. Cheers. 🍻🍻🍻🍻

      That sounds great! I've never cooked corn on my gas grill because I really like that charcoal flavor you get on the corn. Another layer of flavor😉😉

    Another great video Rich. I continue to improve my game on the 980 by watching you videos. I did home made pizzas Tuesday for the All-Star baseball game, steaks for my princess Thursday, and Baby Backs today. I Friggin love my 980 and highly recommend it. I hope your hand/wrist is doing well my friend. Keep on smokin’ and sharing your knowledge with us old retired dudes. You are tremendously appreciated!

    Rich, need your expert advice. I can get the Gravity 980 grille clearance @ Lowes for $499. Or spend $450.00 on Auto Kamado. What do you think?

    Hey Myers! Another great video on the Gravity 980!
    A few questions for you on your 980.
    1. Have you measured the temp at grate level to see how close the temperature showing on the controller is to the grate temp? Some folks have been experiencing temp differences on the controller showing as little as 30 degrees higher and up to 100 degrees higher or more when compared to an air temp probe placed at grate level.
    2. Have you found the temps across the grate to be pretty even? The right side can typically be a bit higher since it’s closest to the hopper and the left is a little cooler, but I’m curious if you’ve measured it and found any significant differences.
    3. Have you experienced any of those ErF fan errors where a piece of charcoal or ash falls into the fan assembly and prevents the fan from moving?
    4. Have you experienced any other issues with the grill? If so, what fixes have you found that resolved the issues?
    Sorry for the homework assignment. lol. Since you’ve cooked quite a bit on your 980 I figured if there were any issues you would’ve found them by now. Thank you for the help and keep the great videos rolling!

    • @ramtuff111
      @ramtuff111  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Corey!! We appreciate you!
      1. I have used an ambient temp probe and it's within a few degrees from the controller. The right side in the middle seems to be my "hot spot" but still not as bad as one would think.
      2. The grill is pretty spot on left to right and top to bottom honestly
      3. I did experience that error the 1st time I tried to reverse sear steaks, but it was user error. I didn't read the manual that said to go to go to like 650⁰f instead of the full 700⁰f
      4. All in all, I've really been impressed with this unit. No real problems on my end to talk about and I always get excited on my days off because I know I'm going to be firing it up! I really love this thing Corey.
      Thanks for the assignment and I hope I passed with flying colors😂😂😂
      Cheers my friend🍻🍻

      @@ramtuff111 Awesome! Thank you and you get a gold star! 😂
      So far I’ve only cooked once on my 980, but it was a brisket (my very first ever) and it was pretty good. I had some smoke leaks from the hopper lid and barrel lid so I applied the Fireblack high temp gasket. Hopefully that resolves the smoke leaks. We’ve been having some crazy high humidity here in DFW Texas (70% and up) recently so I’ve been waiting for that to calm down before I fire the grill up again. As I’m sure you know, being outside with high humidity and hot temps is no fun to say the least. lol.

    • @ramtuff111
      @ramtuff111  3 года назад +1

      Agreed! Did you make a vid of your cook? If love to see it. As far as brisket cooks go I usually do all nighters.... so much easier. I'm sure you seen my brisket vids. If not, check them out😉😉

    • @coreym3675
      @coreym3675 3 года назад +1

      @@ramtuff111 Unfortunately, I did not do a video this time. I was so OCD about making sure I was doing everything the "right way" and watching the temps. lol. However, a friend of mine (who also watches your videos) encouraged me to start recording my cooks too. So I may start doing that. I am really pumped about learning how to bbq more exciting things. Hamburgers and hotdogs are great, but I can't wait to start bbq-ing pork butts, prime rib, whole chickens, etc., as well as improving my brisket game. I'll definitely be watching more of your videos for inspiration and techniques. Thanks again!
