Just bought a new sportster!!! First bike ever iron 1200, I will be trying this off the lot!
genius
Do not try that right off the lot! Especially on your first bike
Maybe ride 10,000 miles first. Once you get used to it and NOT cocky, maybe then. Practice hard acceleration and braking. Slide the rear around in baby steps. When you are honest with yourself then and only then you can start doing this. I just want you to have a good fun experience is all.
@@John-td5lu thank you
Is just me or does he sound like Johnny knoxville
I get Mitch Hedberg.
i was sitting here thinking the same exact thing..
Thats what I thought.. Johnny knoxville🤣
Totes
Thank you for mentioning that it mad the video a whole lot better
you gotta get the bike to bounce to help it up. do a little butt smash right before you pull up and dump the clutch. this tip comes courtesy of Brian_636.
I used to do this with my 883
Are you Matthew McConaughey?
This would be if Mitch Hedberg had a motorcycle vlog
Holy shit. I was just thinking this!
Easy to see the experience. With forwards no less.
That clutch hand placement got me laughin
He said finger on 😂😭
Used to have no issues wheelies on my 200 lb dirt bikes. Not my 600 lb harley.
Do you feel like the forward controls make wheelies any sketchier? Or makes no difference to you?
Might be a while for you to reply but was wondering where you got your spiked handlebar ends, thanks!
Savage with forward controls lol
Hi bro nice video, i was wondering, why do you go with multiple accelerations instead of going with one straight and strong to set up the weelie?
883?
Subbed because you sound like Johnny Knoxville
Keep the videos coming. Where are you out of, I'd be interested in a wheelie class for Harley's
SNAPTEAH REKA Fort Worth Texas check out my website PatrickStephens.com
Let's go Pat Steve!!! Btw you said all stock, but in the description you were talking about chains and sprockets. Did they do a chain swap on this guy or is it still the belt? I was told it's very hard to wheelie with a belt drive but that's what I got
not hard to wheelie with belt
why do you have to hold the rear brake down?
he doesn't hold it down, he covers it with his foot, not pressing it, he's just ready to press it. if you go too far back on a wheelie the only thing that'll save you is tapping the rear brake
I mash it hard the entire time with constant consistent pressure.....plus a lot more gas at the same time
Rene Sanchez he means press the rear brake to bring the front of the bike down
U do this in first gear?
Can you wheelie a lowered sportster? I have 10.5 burly slammers
Rip legend
U still do wheelie classes!
It's impossible for me to tell any of my students how hard they should be pressing on the rear brake and how much gas to give it with my class eyeshadow my students on a bike next to them and give critique on each pass..... But pretty phucin hard on the rest brake my friends.
I go through rear pads once a month at least
Just sign up for the lessons you guys!!
Think maybe if you let some air out of the tire and or a gripper tire!
Lol I tried I could even get the wheel of the ground I way 120 so I don’t know if that’s the problem
You sound like Johnny Knoxville
man i miss partying with him. Rip pat
Nice chaps
can you explain to me what people mean when they tell me to bounce on the seat before i try to clutch up?
You bounce on the seat and throw your weight back
Uhm I have to clean my carb lol. It doesn't like being blipped anymore
u dont gotta rev it up that high u need to move ur weight back so it dont spin
exactly like my klx250 ,
is your bike stock components? no upgrades? i have an iron 883, i want try it :O !
Higher bars and forward controls but for stunts leave the stock mid controls helps getting the weight to the back and more comfortable in the air
Hell yea
Hey, you trust that phone mount at speed?
I have $20 phone mount just like it.
No problem going 160kph without windscreen.
Is that an 883 or 1200?
So moral of the story pop it up like a grom
just pull clutch with one finger?
What gear?
Those forward controls ain’t helping
why foot on the rear brake wath those itchange for wheelies ?
Keeps you from picking up speed so you can do a slow, yet controlled wheelie.
So the bike doesn't pick up too much speed so you can do a slow yet controlled wheelie
You sound like Matthew McConaughey
What handlebars does he have?
What bars are those?
Lol at "rev-liner"
1200?
Slamming that down hard....lol
Lel this bike is in my garage rn! you scraped my pipes bro LOL
Is your bike belt or chain drive?
Sportsters are belt driven
@@TheTightSqueeze Only older ones.
@@hunterlaroe5037 Only Newer ones
@@TheTightSqueeze Newer sportiest are belt.
You're my huckleberry
I broke my belt
What motor?
This an 883? Or a 1200?
1200..... but the eight eight three is just the same
Patrick Hucklebuck Stephens nice! Yeah I can wheelie the 1200 but never been on the 883
@@SavageSaiTheBloxStar how I got 18 1200 and cant figure it out any tips
Kendell moore main one is set up. Have a good seat and a chain drive. Besides that pop that clutch gas and give it a little seat bounce if you gotta💪🏾
the gasoline wasnt coming out from the top of gas cap, its on the right side of the engine..
Things are to heavy
That sporty don’t sound stock
i think you trying in second gear... just try in 1fst gear you will on the road...
You can't make a how to wheelie tutorial if you can't wheelie it yourself. I mean basically you're just telling them what to do not really showing us anything. I'd try getting some sticky tires and maybe seat bouncing and dropping the clutch to get it up
This was painful to watch lol
Are you in second gear?
David Diaz no, first.
It’s not stock bud
Rubbish bike
