Service Catalog Development | Create Catalog Item | Automate Approval Workflow

This videos shows how create an approval workflow for a Finance portal access in ServiceNow via catalog item.
Use Case: If you customer or client is asking to automate an approval process which they are doing manually.

Thanks for the great Catalog Session. I will go with adding a new column in Location table with Approver1, Approver2. As per the new ServiceNow Platform Subscription Model, ServiceNow provided a limited set of custom tables with every license package.

ServiceNow are advising user to not create new workflows using the workflow designer, but to use the flow designer.

in the video @ 16.03 Min where you can see "yes" (as default value in the dropdown)- it happened due to the case issue- you typed "yes" instead of "Yes" in the default value while creating the variable "Is this request for you". Either you can correct it or rest viewers of the video can read my comments and can rectify while practicing.

If we use by default tables then we have to map with sys_id rather than the custom column i.e. gr.addQuery('sys_id',current.variables.select_the_location_of_access);

Hi Gaurav, Hope you are doing well. I was working on a workflow and I need to create a loop for the Approval Task and Catalog Task (creating a new catalog task on rejection of the approval task) until the approval task is approved. Each time we want a new approval task after closing the catalog task. But I am not sure what activity to use for this loop ?

If you can loop the workflow to the initial point again . You can always point to Creation of task from Rejection.

Hi, Could you pls suggest if we need to create a workflow for service catalog where we are only working on RITM and not creating any further task for fulfillment but request should flow the workflow from "Waiting for approval" to " Fulfillment" and then "Completed".
