We have a long way towards privacy. So it's good to start thinking more about it. Because it doesn't end with getting rid of Google, Facebook or Amazon. There's also a missing security against privacy invasion in Telegram or Discord. Sure, social media is the obvious threat because people post so much on it. But Facebook did buy WhatsApp for a reason. For most people messengers feel very secure and private. They use them for private conversations they wouldn't share in social media with everyone. But it is collecting the same way as social media... ^^'

Best part of the X220. When you break it over the head of an intruder its 100% repairable. Glad you are putting it to work Jerry! 5 owners now since I bought it new. 2 motherboards, 3 screens, and a few batteries and still an awesome device. -OptiplexPrime

I agree with Schykle, all the tinkering and finding real solutions to stuff I really want to do instead of work arounds is the best thing about Linux.

"Apple has the user's best privacy at heart"
Yeah, and then they go and do all their CSAM scanning of files on your local device, with a data set that they themselves control. They might be the least intrusive, but they are by no means the best. Just not the worst.
