My many years of collecting and restoring antique radios are reflected in this video. This is not all inclusive but represents those that I have pictures of. Hope you enjoy.
They're a beautiful collection, and I'm old enough to have listened to a number of them. Listening to shortwave channels was really an introduction to the entire world. And our old RCA standup did a darn good job of heating the room when the radiators lost pressure or froze. :)
Love the extensive Atwater Kent's in your amazing collection of vacuum tube radios. These radios were the centerpiece for the family to gather and enjoy their favorite songs and programs so the beautiful cabinets were a must. I salute you for keeping these radios alive today and sharing them with us.
Wow, what a beautiful collection of restored radios in one place. They are definitely pieces of art. Thank you for putting this together and sharing it.
Now if we could just have them play the good old songs, music and thrilling shows of yesteryear and get rid of all the crap that's on the air waves now.
We hope to see another video about the vintage retro radios in the 20,s , thanks but please soon because this video is very old and we have seen it many times.. Thanks
Un gran afortunado por tener esta gran coleccion ,estan geniales todos los modelos, gracias por mostrarnos tu tesoro.saludos desde navolato sinaloa mexico
Thanks! The collection is weighted towards wood sets from the 20s and 30s, especially the 30s. A personal preference for me although space becomes an issue because of their size. Thanks for the feedback and I enjoy watching your channel.
Armand Corpolongo Thank You! Anytime you see where I can improve or learn something, please feel free to comment! Lol on space becomes an issue! Im experiencing that with backlog sets not to mention my restored sets. Thanks again, I enjoy your posts and comments! Best--Larry
I had one of those Zenith Trans Oceanic portable radios that was same year as yours back in the mid seventies, used to listen to the BBC on the shortwave on it but it broke and I ended up giving it to a friend.
Remarkable collection , take care of it , you have a historical wealth. Please , is there a catalogue or some Web / link contain all brands and models from the 20,s - 50,s ear of vintage radio - phonographs / turntables , thanks !
Interesting video. Having it begin with the opening of "The Whistler," and closing with the beginning of "The Lone Ranger" was a nice touch, although I wish you could have included the openings of other old radio programs of the time (like my personal favorite, "The Shadow"). I didn't mind listening to all that Big Band music, but some people would like to hear something different.
Thanks for viewing and commenting. I am a fan of the Whistler as well and wish I could have found a clip to include. Perhaps I can do another video at some point. I had to leave out a lot of radios from the collection. What type of music or background do you suggest?
@@armandcorpolongo I was actually suggesting that you play some other recordings of old radio shows, like comedies, dramas, mysteries, Westerns, anything. I didn't really object to the music, if that's what you're worried about. As for what other music you should play, I really couldn't tell you.
