    A Brit ISA looks sensible - I hate financial repression, but completely agree with you, because of the subsidies involved. Due to the data availability they could probably restrict a proportion of the ISA. (My ISA provides accurate country & sector breakdowns based upon collective vehicles underlying holdings.)

    People making this argument never answer the question: if the UK markets are so cheap, why aren’t the pension funds buying? It would be interesting to hear from the horse’s mouth. The phrase “value trap” comes to mind, although maybe there is a case for some nudging. Recent experience would suggest nudging can be in bad faith, however.
