Or maybe it was randomnly placed there just like the other 100 things in this game. You might of noticed something in this game compared to the first one. In DL1, each meter, each square of the map was placed and designed by hand. In DL2 it's not the case. And the amount of loot out of reach for the player just proves my point. Not that I have anything to prove, this was confirmed by a data miner itself. They used an automated software to fill up for their mess. Interiors are all the same and loot always spawns on the same exact locations (containers included).
Theres actually ALOT of crystals over there covered in corrosion, as we played 4 man coop we opened all of them, even the ones VERY far away, first one respawns nearby once opened it, and the others can go pick it up but most likely die in the process but also respawn nearby.
There's more of these in "impossible places", I'm pretty sure they just kinda randomly generated some of these around those radioactive areas, making them a few of them unreachable.
What if later on in a DLC you would be able to travel trough these THV limits, either by gaining some infected ability, a gas mask, anything that could explain the vague appearance of elyseum and this ONE core, wich I don't believe to be there just for some detail.
not sure if either of you have finished the story, but you get a med that allows this. Though "limited" in quantity that can be produced in the "story" im sure DLC will add more to this. "Veronika" questline.. very start of the end of the game.
I imagine there will be future DLC where the chemical areas are just cleared out, theres such a huge area around the main map n stuff even outside the main map that its not gonna make much sense to have that much space and nothing to fill it with eventually
Its just random generation to expedite level design, items are placed based on either vertex space, material instances or both. Basically a material, such as the yellow goo, can be found by the system and made available as a spot to spawn something, this can be combined with player zones (vertex spaces) to determine if it would make sense to place a collectable. Using those two concepts can describe a system that would be able to place collectables in spaces that would likely be traversed by the player, while ensuring some relevancy in the context of the collectable relative to the material - ie, yellow goo spawns crystal growths and not material chests.

I tried reading through comments to see if anyone knew this but any slanted tile that makes u slide down. You can easily climb up without the broom. The trick is to jump and using the grappling hook. Soon as the grappling hook locks in jump again and repeat. Takes a little while to get the hang of but I promise once u have it down packed . You’ll be a beast with it. I use it also to get to certain taller buildings . U can do it from the ground up if done correctly.

Actually there's a ton of these surrounded by chemicals all over the game. Like one that holds a white crystal core at the end of the game when you're on the bridge. I think they're surrounded like that cuz crystal cores are worth a couple hundred to a couple thousand coins each.
I think this is just for lore purposes, they say the chemicals made the crystals so it makes sense that there's really concentrated ones that grew in the radius of villedor where large swaths of chemicals have been for over a decade.
I was able to open and get the crystal. You just need to level up your inhibitors to give yourself more time. I had 15min 30sec of time and got it with no problems. There are a few on the broken overpass right near there too.

I strongly believe they the developers laid the corrosion out after the game was development as its just a damaged added area in a sense. I say this because after you beat the game. The Cock easter egg mission will ask you to go to the dam area and find a part to a ship. If you didnt clear the water the corrosion will either kill you or their is a invisible barrier that blocks you from moving further. I believe it was added after the later bombs fall in the game. I think they added more chemical for effects for didnt think about its placement in the map.
Back when you could glitch outside the surrounding areas of map when the game first arrived u could glitch on a ledge at the end of a bridge, these crystals would be all over the corrided area. and since it was a glitch u didnt have to worry about dying.
it's possible to get it. get on top of that small building next to it, take a regen booster + toughness booster (gives u an extra second when out of immunity), make a jump that u land right on top of it and u'll have just enough time to open it and run out of the chemicals and quickly throw a uv or use a immunity booster, then repeat to collect the crystal. done it multiple times, there are several similar locations with crystals that are hard to reach but always have a bus or small cabin nearby to make the jump, they mostly give a blue or better crystal, rarely green or white.
When i play DL2 back then when it launch, actually you can collect them all even tho it far away coz back then you can tank this THV corrosion as long as your uv meter reach. But it been patch coz techland don't want go out of map i guess.
You are right! They have definitely tried to stop us from exploring outside the map! They should have left it in the game, it almost made sense with the lore lmao
its may be just a bug, they might have never intended to have the core crystal placed there but during development, someone put it there by accident within the game code.

the immunity boosters dont reduce the immunity drain speed, they only give you immunity back after a short animation of using the booster but even so you wouldnt have time to get out on time once you break it unless you've found and used all inhibitors for maximum immunity duration

You got to open it and then run and jump up when your in the air it restart the time . Jump to the clean space then go back and get then crystal it gave me green crystal core
Just get max inhibitor Immunity. I got max inhibitors and can now easily wonder about these places for 15 seconds no problem along with my huge health bar allowing me to go even further.

you just havent got a maxed account. you barely have 3 health bars and 3 secs of immunity while max has about 5 secs and 8 bars so i think its openable at max acc

Yo- you know you can open it right? New game plus inhibitors make it easy and even without then you can still open it. Its a tease, only gave me a white crystal which is like 100 of the in game currency. Its literally there just to give you blue balls lol
I actually got that crystal during the mission where you go to the auto plant, the reason you're having such a hard time is because you don't have enough immunity so you don't have enough time to open it and then run away (only reason I had enough is because I'm pretty sure I got every single inhibitor in old villedor before even advancing even through the first couple story missions)
I did it my first play Through I opened it and for some reason it's stayed open so when I respond I could just grab it some sort of glitch or something

The sunken city is allready passable by swimming or with a story Line that clears all the water by opening the dam.
You can also find them at the observatory
At the start of you climbing the panels, you can actually go up it by switching your forward momentum every time you jump

I actually got that crystal during the mission where you go to the auto plant, the reason you're having such a hard time is because you don't have enough immunity so you don't have enough time to open it and then run away (only reason I had enough is because I'm pretty sure I got every single inhibitor in old villedor before even advancing even through the first couple story missions)

I did it my first play Through I opened it and for some reason it's stayed open so when I respond I could just grab it some sort of glitch or something
That's very interesting! I could have sworn mine closed, I'll have to double check, but if that is the case then maybe something happens if we open all the ones out the map??? Lol im not sure just a theory lol
@@MangoChuyGaming Depends where you respawn. If you do this during the main quest, it respawns you right next to it and remains open.
