- I realised men take quite a few hits in this video, so I just want to state for the record, I am not a misandrist, it's just these specific men kinda suck.
Also, and more importantly, while Picasso definitely doesn't deserve the title of "inventor of collage", the techniques of collage were used in China as early as 200 BC. en.wikipedia.o...

As a consummate Delany fan, and author of The Paper Garden: Mrs. Delany Begins Her Life's Work at 72, I am thrilled that you posted this video., Micahela Schmid. I just happened to have discovered it. THANK YOU!
“& I’m about to make that your problem too”
Me: ok👩🏼🎨
Excellent video, I first became aware of Mary Delaney as I live near the ruins of Hollymount House where she spent her Summers with her husband Patrick Delaney.
I'm so glad I stumbled across your wonderful video - Mrs. D is an inspiration to me, thanks to my discovery of Molly Peacock's fabulous book more than a decade ago.
always love your long talk videos!!!!
Chigiri-e existed before Mary ever created her flowers. I often wonder, with her ability to meet those who may have such knowledge of this artform that originated in Japan, if she was aware or influenced by it.
Hello Ms. Schmid, I read an article on Ms. Delany and also your video popped up in the search. Very interesting I want to know if there is a book with all her collages. Would love to buy one and cherish it.
Thanks so much for posting this, it's sounds like Mary Delany's intellect was as sharp as her scissors!
And thanks also for that fabulous link to the British Museum website.
Thank you for making this video! I adore The Paper Garden, the only one of my books I will never loan to friends. What a life, what a gift she left us with.
about two a week, for ten years. That's a body of work.
Her two or masterpieces on my body as tattoo
Great video!
Brilliant,That shows you you never to old, I wish they made a film about her life .
A film about her would be so good! She should be much more famous than she is. :)
No insult at all. I loved this video. Felt as though you were right in the room with me. I hope you find other inspirations to share with us. Thank you so much.
Thank you! I’m happy you enjoyed the video. I’m working on another similar video right now that I’m incredibly excited to share soon. :)
Fascinating! See would have been so fun to chat with!!
She.
She’s definitely on my list of five people from history to invite to a dinner party… I’d even throw a dinner party if she was there. :)
Hi Michaela, thank you for this video. It's great to get to know Mary's work 😊💕 Which of the 3 books that you presented you would recommend in order to visualize Mary's beautiful illustrations?
To look at her work the best place is probably the British Museum website. They have good quality scans that you can zoom in pretty close.
I don’t know if RUclips allows links in comments, so I’ll post the link in another comment here. If you don’t see it, RUclips blocked it, but you can go on the British museum website and search for Mary Delany and find her that way

@@michaelaschmid thank you so much 🥰👍 this is great
Thank you for the amount of work you put into this. Very informative and well thought out. I've watched it more times than I probably should have. :)
Yes. I loved this so much! I had never heard of her before, and I think she is fabulous. When you mentioned the Blue Stockings, I decided I'd have to find out more! Thank you! Also, I loved your collage!
