  • Here is the first in a new series called “ fly on the wall ‘ where you see how i can make a track really quickly in Logic.
    Here I make a deep house track in one hour
    using only apple loops and stock plugins.
    I released a lot of soulful and deep house music on vinyl and CD back in the early 2000s under the name “THE RHYTHM SLAVES” and was curious to see how easy it would be to make a track like that ( kind of an old school deep house track ) using only what is available in Logic.
    Sounding ok so far

    Best tutorial I've seen on logic for a long time. I learnt so much just watching your workflow techniques. No messing around, you get straight to the point, say the command keys you're holding down, then move on. Boom. Lesson learnt. Many other tutorials spend 5 minutes explaining why you might want to do something. No. I know why I want to do it - just show me how!! lol. Subscribed.

    Hello Richard, thanks for this tutorial! I'm a beginner and have very limited knowledge of logic pro.
    I would like to know how you set up the bus template at the beginning? What I did is creating new auxiliary channel strips in the mixer, but in this case I don't see the bus channels in the main window. What should I do? Is it ok with what I did? I don't know if it has something to do with the logic version (mine is 10.3.3).
    Thanks in advance for your answer!

      Hi Yang , thanks for watching , yes aux tracks are the same , all you need to do is make sure that you have the input of the aux track set to a bus , you can select that from the drop down menu in the input slot , and then make sure that the group of tracks for example all the drums have the output set to the same bus as an output , check this video out ruclips.net/video/QH-164SFYdc/видео.html and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already

    Hi Richard, question on why you put limiters on all the busses rather than control volume using the fader, are you wanting to alter the dynamics of the sound coming out of the buss because it keeps the oompf while allowing you to have greater control over the perceived volume? cheers!

    Thank you for this video. I just learned from you that Logic has tons of drum loops on board. On that subject: The option on the bottom of your 'loop packs browser", that hides behind the cog wheel, next to the speaker icon, which offers to "Play in song key", or Play in original key, or offers you to choose the key: Is that for midi files only? I was hoping it would work on the audio drum loops as well, but I can't hear any difference. Any advice?
    Cheers,

    Hi, nice lesson, ....but ....aren't all these beats came in all pre-recorded, so you pretty much building a track using just your own library, previously uploaded to Apple Loops? Sure, this would be handy if we used the same Library sounds you're using, but I'd rather go deeper and create our own using Logic midi instr. At least, that's what I was in hope to find here. Not audio samples placements in a certain order. But thanks anyway.

      @@homestudiotutorials I understand it. Hip-hop was also greated the same way. Why= because they didnt have other joices. they didnt have daws like we do.
      i started with sample blocks in hip-hop ejay back in the early 2000's.
      But everybody evolves and now i can create my own samples. And thats how you grow as a producer. If you continue to steal samples, then you're not evolving as a producer. BUT NOW WE ALL HAVE A STUDIO IN OUR BEDROOM. We have choices to create the samples ourselves, but everybody is taking the easier route as you provide them with lazy ass ways to make beats.

    • @homestudiotutorials
      @homestudiotutorials  3 года назад +15

      Who is stealing Samples !?? These are logic samples and are free to use in productions that you make ! When you buy logic you get the license to use the samples !! Back in the early 2000s i was already on logic and putting out records ! And there were plenty of sample libraries about even in the 90s !! And you could very easily make your own samples back then i was doing it in the 80s with my first sampler the Casio FZ 1 !!! What the fuck are you going on about !! !! All the beats that you make are sample based they all come from a drum machine be it a roland , 808, 909 etc and all the others ! If you want to sample your farts and turn them into drums feel free i don't give a shit !!lols !!
