    I feel like kids toys in general are more "wild" these days since kids media, games, etc, are more fast paced and crazy than they used to be. Kids have less patience and shorter attention spans than we did as kids. I wish they'd release a line virtual pets like these for adult collectors since we're such a large part of their market.

    I have such a strong memory of calling all the stores in my area with my dad and us searching everywhere for a wolf colored furby when they first released. A toy store at our local mall just happened to just get a shipment in of them and had one and we raced over to get it. What memories. My dad was awesome. Anyway, I was really excited to see a new furby being released (I didn't know they made them past that first gen) and this was a video suggestion when I googled it. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It saved me a lot. Although I love the color, I would not have enjoyed the weird ears and unmoving mouth. I also don't appreciate the craziness of it. It's just too in your face and I would miss the learning aspect as well. The modes look very basic and I would get bored quickly. It's definitely a very expensive $70 toddler toy, as I think even a child would get bored fairly quickly with random phrases and 5 primitive modes. Thanks for the heads up, hard pass from me. Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's very helpful!

    I just bought my first Furby a couple days ago! It’s the new 2023 one! Mine is purple so I named him “Grimace” (very original, I know). I do have a 1999 Furby Baby that was given to me as a child and he has been customized with an ocean/water theme!

    I am 17, but I love the new Furbies. I think it’s just that I enjoyed it they can talk. I’m not very patient and don’t like things taking forever to learn stuff. Besides, remembering all the words that the Furbies used to talk was so hard. I don’t think I ever would’ve been able to do it. And the dictionary wasn’t even in a format that a blind person could read, so it would be annoying. Generally, I think the kids of today would love this. The idea of it being able to talk like a friend and for you to be able to speak to you it is incredible. It was responding to your voice, which means that kids can sit and talk to it and get responses. And it’s nice that it’s random and it’s not on the loop, because lots of toys are. that can be really annoying because it just says the same stuff over and over again. I know it’s different to what was originally considered a Furby, but I think that if things don’t move on everyone will get bored. And I think the most important thing to remember is that it’s not made for the adults we used to play with it, I think they’re trying to make it so that it appeals to kids of today. I think that perhaps this is something kids of today would enjoy. I know that if they said, when I was a little kid, I would’ve been all over it! It just seems so comfortable and wonderful, and all its talking makes me happy. I can imagine myself coming home from a hard day of school and telling him everything. I have a coral one and I named him firebaall. Although, he seems to go to sleep all the time so I’m thinking of changing his name to sleeper.

    Have you tried using the shake method with your old Furby? I used it on a vintage Furby I bought with great success.

    This model it's different from any other previous model (from 2012, there isn't a progression in Furby vocabulary and behaviour, this is not the first one). Maybe it's not really surprising for old Furby's fan, but he's cute in many ways. Price isn't really low, but these days even a Tamagotchi isn't cheap, especially for us in Europe (Uni's price is 79 euros) and Furby compared to any other robotic plush cand say more than 600 phrases. The only disappointment for me is the beak, but i love new Furby's voice and personality.

    What I find with reviews on new gen toys of the old school ones, people ALWAYS act like they can make the toys look and do better (which they redesign them to look more adult like toy, which isn't the point!), the old ones were "better," it was build too kid like (duh, because it is meant for kids), etc. But, really, it's just NOSTALGIC feelings, they can't let go, don't like changes, and will LITERALLY pick things, that isn't a big deal. I seen this with Gen 3 Monster High, which I think is SO much better than the old ones. And, now Furbies. I personally love the new furby, it's cute, more fun than the old one, and I don't mind if the beak isn't moving. And, as a 90's kid, I can say that, because I HAD the original one, and let me tell you, in my experience, the old one was trash, garbage, and it was boring after time, and looking at it as an adult now, it looks creepy and cheap looking. I have the new furby 2023 (just to fuel my inner child), and I am loving the new one, and it looks so cute! I wish this was furby, it's amazing.
    Edited: I knew old farts (and I am an old fart) would complain, seeing most reviews, and sometimes don't even research before talking trash. Like for example, some reviews complain that it should have a turn off switch, when it LITERALLY said, in the mini book that it came with, that you can press the heart gem three times, and it will turn off. Or, the ears should've been fur (didn't the newest old one, with digital eyes ALSO had plastic like ears?). The reviews are always BIAS, picky, and selfish.

    Thanks for making this video! I’m like you, where I had my first Furby when I was around eight or nine years old. My first furby was the tropical furby. I was very excited about it, then, too. I have more iterations of the Furby, the 2005, and the 2012 Furby. I am definitely a Furby collector. I am very interested to see what would happen, should you purchase two of them. They do interact with each other. I’m glad that this Furby comes with a tutorial, in the beginning. I understand what you mean, as far as liking the fact, that the original, furby learns, as it went. Did you ever have the Furby clock that came out in 1999? What color was your original Furby? I am visually impaired, and cannot see the screen. Awesome video!

    I think the new ones are a huge letdown. Mouth doesn’t move? Even the eyes are cheap fake looking garbage. With today’s tech I expected this to be much better and atleast be something that would freak my animals out. My ancient furby still works and is still better than this.

    Everything seems to be girls esclusive..... but yes kids are way different this days they are not going to give a crap to they're toys like we did so they changed the toys accordingly

    The new furby is so disappointing 😢
    I really dislike that the eyes are no longer animated, nor does the mouth move! I feel like they cut back on so many cool / original features.
    Also the songs are beyond annoying 😅😅😅
    Ps.. I love your furby outfit though

    • @furbyblog
      @furbyblog Год назад +1

      The eyes have the same "animation" like the original (eyes can move up and down only). The only disappointment is that the beak doesn't move, but this one can move his feet.

    $69!? Isn't that inappropriate for a children's toy?
