EEE NEW FURBY GUYS I AM YELLING !!!
I must say, I didn't really express my thoughts very well in this video haha. I might have to make another one at some point! I made it sound like I hate the screen eyes or something, which I don't. It just has a much different vibe than previous furbs and I always prefer a more natural feeling take on the furby 😭 Also idk what I meant exactly by "breaks the immersion" and I was lowkey cringing at myself for saying that while editing lol. I'm not very good at explaining stuff. Sorry if this vid feels confusing or like too long! I really wanted to post an unboxing of this guy and there were so many things that were distracting me the day the package arrived 💥

I got the original 90's one as a kid (I was born n '97 so I didn't actually know how to play with it especially since I didn't speak english LOL but I still loved it) and yes it would start talking during the night times and unlike most people I was NOT bothered or scared of it? I guess I was small enough where I believed it is a real pet so it didn't bother me
I have 6 furbies in my room (4 original) (2 baby) and they have literally never gone off in the night unless I moved them myself.
Idk were you guys just living in rlly wobbly houses or something???

I'm looking forward to seeing the customs that'll come from these little guys! I feel like this is more a throwback to GEN 2 just for the voice commands alone, but obviously they're a lot better now because voice recognition software has improved drastically. The amount of times 9 year old me yelled "hey furby" to no avail was traumatic.
I really hope they become popular for customizing!! I wanna see one with anime eyes and proper eyelashes

when i first saw the 2023 furby i wasnt rlly feelin it, but after watching this i love how much of a lil goober he is. his design is basically like a furby when the yass pill hits and honestly good for him.
also i totally agree on the fijit friends thing, i was literally thinking that like the whole time except those guys creep me out 😭😭 i like it as a furby better bc it feels less uncanny, despite me generally liking more robot like interactive pets better most of the time

I don’t even care about the appearance at this point, seeing that opening where it checked everything was the cutest thing i’ve ever seen. I literally had tears in my eyes. Anyways, I know the furby fandom is going to have opinions, but considering this is still a toy made for kids, I can absolutely see them loving this. I would’ve loved the voice repeating feature as a kid. I agree 100% with what you said at the end about kids enjoying this look of toys. I think that it is very important for people to remember who this is actually made for. Toy companies are obviously going to make toys that appeal to the kids of today, wether you like it or not. That is just good business. Loved this video! :)
They really distinctly remind me of furblings lol. I think the turning point for furbys is when they removed the furby boom app. Also the non moving mouth makes it feel like it’s cutting corners. They fact the eyes are non digital reminds me of the older furby modules, overall I like it :).

I loved my furby boom. I was so sad when they took away the app. My once cool furby now had half of its features gone

@@possumqe9751do you have an android? if you do you can try to download an apk. I tried a lot of websites and most didn't work (the furby boom app crashed at the the logo) but one did work. rn can't tell you wich one tho
Since they've gone back to mechanical eyes, I wonder what mechism they are using for the motions and why they couldn't make the mouth move. It might be since they added moving feet and made the ears move seperately that there's no room for the mouth mechanism anymore.
Judging based on what my sister and other people I’ve heard have said, I think it may be because the large beak was seen as creepy, and maybe the knew small one is harder to mechanize at the size affordably or without breaking often?

The eyes definitely rotate downwards. I have a doll called Amazing Allysen who does the same thing, and has little bits where the eyelids were attached so her eyelids closed when she blinked.
It’s probably the 1998-1999 furby’ mouth was related to “injuries”

(Also the cut our ears on the last few generations of furby reminds me of like those big ear things that stretch out your ear)

This is actually a lot cuter than I expected, I thought it was going to have a female voice actress, but it actually has the same voice actor as Furby connect from the sound of it which is cool!

I'm still not a fan but eh I get it, they probably wanted to move away from the "creepy" reputation Furbys got over the years - with the 2012 iteration they kind of leaned into it, with 2016 they over-complicated it a bit and with this one they wanted to cater to little kids again. And it is a kid's toy so it's fine. I just wish they came in less jarring colors - I really miss the selection of both natural and psychedelic colors of the original furbs!
Also the un-moving mouth is kind of a deal breaker for me too. Well, I hope it gets popular enough with kids that we can expect another iteration in a few years!
Yes, the natural colors definitely added immersion. I wish they would release an Exclusive series of units or colors that appeal to fans more.
Honestly, I liked the colors of the 2012s and furby booms! I loved how many solid colors there were, and the patterned fur was always very aesthetically pleasing to me!

but GOD it's so cute!! its lack of mouth movement is a bit disappointing, its new design definitely feels simplified down, it's definitely more "doll" than "pet," and it being fluent in english right out of the package is a massive. like. adjustment to get used to but!! it's different!! i actually love its led ears (minus the outer bit), and it's so like.... expressive?? that like start-up sequence is like. an animatronic guru's DREAM to get that level of personality in a robot. speechless. i love it 😍
Just as I said in other places - Its cheaply made(ball eyes. no mouth, lights, no fur on eyes), it has solid simple program.
Its clear it was manufactured cheaply just to rake in money. I just hope they will release more colors.
I am a little sad it barrely use Furbish, however songs are really nice.

Did you mean fur around the eyes like the 2005 Furby? I think it looks fine with a faceplate like the previous ones did

I am sad that the beak doesn't move. That was always one of my most favourite Furby things. They are cute though!
Honestly I am #1: surprised they made a new one after all this time and #2 sad they got rid the digital eyes. Always found those more expressive.

I cant wait to buy one once they’re back in stock again! I personally think they are very cute and very fluffy but the only cons are that it comes in a very limited amount of colors unlike the other gens which hopefully there will be more and also that the beak doesn’t move which was unnecessary to remove that feature. They are also quite pricey for a furby. I hope to get one eventually at least! :)
LOOOVE the glowing ears!! I like that it's futuristic and alien without being a robot. This way it's more like magic?

I love how adorable they are and I'm glad furbys are back but I don't really like that they're talking now. For me the best thing always was learning furbish through the internet to understand what my furby wanted to tell me/teaching the furby boom phrases etc. It felt more like a lil animal/alien thing only you can communicate/bond with.
I recently got two furbies they are both generation 1 furbies and I never had one and always wanted one and I luv them!
I actually really like the see-through ears, they give it a sort of magical fairy-like vibe
When I heard the furby talk like the old ones I got so many memories but I got so sad when the mouth wasn't moving

Same here, I thought after the hacking backlash the latest Furby got Hasbro would never come up with another. Well, I'm happy they did even though it's totally simplified. When I saw it, I bought it right away it's so cute.

I love that it's feet move. It just makes the new one even cuter. I'm going to get the purple one when I get the money. Im glad they don't connect to the internet because of what happens to connects connecting to the app because i heard some people say that when they connected it to the app the furby completely broke like the eyes just turned black and it didn't make any sounds or movement at all.
Lord knows I’m happy the Tiger Electronics logo is still being used.

My only complaints really is the lack of a moving mouth and the static dancing. Don’t get me wrong I love how the little feet move around but it felt a bit underwhelming to see some fuzzy bean wiggle while 2012 furbies heavy metal head bang to any sound around them within a 50 mile radius. Excellent furb though none the less, it’s very cute.
I remember when my furby boom (crystal edition) went absolutely metal when i played megalovania to them 💀💀💀

Was considering getting one based on just photos, but the minute it started talking I knew it was a NO. Like you said it's clearly made for children and not with adult collectors in mind. Hopefully this will change as a generation of childless adults become the ones spending the most money on toys

AAAH I'm so excited! I don't know how youtube knew I needed to see this but I'm glad I did. I was honestly thinking furbies were done since the last ones were from 7 years ago. I really hope they last more than a year this time! I do really like how this one looks and how it's got a couple throwbacks to older ones. Though I do prefer the more random nature of some other versions over the more command oriented thing. I am very sad about the still mouth but I love the eyes! And man I'm just so happy to see furby again

I'm delighted that the ears are fully formed, no holes in them.
I grew up with 2012 Booms (being a 2006 kid) and I had like, 5 or more of them. I grew up playing the Furby Boom app, that was a big part of my childhood. As well as the digital furblings. The talking voice commands also remind me of "Fidgets," which were also a toy you could talk to.
(Edit: I mentioned the Fijets before I watched that point in the video)
This is really cute actually. My personal fav generation is the second (2005) for many reasons but this 2023 one is actually really unique. I think it looks and acts better than the other rather newer digital ones. I also really love the ear glow effects along with how they made them move their feet. It gives them such a new character that can't even be really compared to the others. Might get myself one too ngl

I know its directed at the creator of the video, but i had both full sized furby boom and furbling and two of them were crystal edition. I loved them both until my big one broke and it turns out you cannot repair it :(

I've recently realised I could get furbies from resellers and ima get some and fall into the rabbit hole, if you want one go for it!
I'm finding resellers cause I could find cheaper ones and I prefer the old ones
I had a blue furby connect as a kid and it was actually pretty fun, I loves the eye animations and so on. It is fragile and has different problems, but it seems to have the most overall features I've seen in a furby tbh
Idk about ur furby connect but mine must of been built like a tank cuz I always used to carry it by the antenna and accidentally drop it but it still held out for the years I had it 💀

I had a classic Furby and I also had a Shelby. Which they're both freaking adorable. My Furby turquoise green he had a yellow belly and he had blue eyes. My Shelby was this light mint green or mint blue I guess rice blue and he had the cutest little antennas.
I think its definitely... something!!! The normal eyes and no app is cool, but the beak not moving makes me so mad... but hey! at least its better than furby connect!!! I might try to get my hands on it at some point

The dialogue can be a little bit cringy at times but I'm sincerely impressed with the mental health activities they programmed into this toy, so that's a huge plus in my book :) This new furby definitely grows on you, that's for sure! :D

I have at least one furby from every generation (with the exception of 2005, I want one so bad) but for the sake of my collection I am 100% going to get one of these. I can’t afford one right now but I will own one some day. I think these new furbies are very cute i obviously have my own issues with it lol for example the static mouth and the texture on the ears, but i lobe that the ears glow and how it moves, I hope they come out with more colors eventually!

I feel like the 2023 furby is a big lump of furby cameo. movement cameo to 1st gen, the “hey furby!” Cameo to the emototronic furby, and voice to the connect.
Honestly I think this new iteration is pretty cute. Really like how similar it is to the ‘05 in a lot of aspects. So glad it has an off switch too. I went back and dug up my old Boom and 2012 furbies a couple weeks back and LORD. They got on my nerves so fast. I’m hoping to pick this new one up when they come back in stock/release at retail, thanks for the review! (Side note, the music you use in this video sounds SO familiar, is it from Mario RPG?)
