The Mofetta is a smooth yet fiery overdrive / distortion pedal with MOSFET clipping for authentic tones.
The Wampler Mofetta Overdrive / Distortion is Brian Wampler’s tribute to the MOSFET-driven magic of a 1990s classic - the MT10 MOSTORTIONtm. A mainstay of countless top session players, the Mofetta honors the soul of that elusive yet classic circuit while revealing its untapped potential.
Think of the Mofetta as a supercharged MOSTORTIONtm, reborn and amplified. We made sure that it delivered the classic, amp-like overdrive, massive headroom, and versatile 3-band EQ that made the original so famous. But Brian also wanted more and added a Texture Switch that introduces actual MOSFETs into the pedal’s overdrive section for a bolder, more responsive / tube-like tone. The Mofetta preserves everything you love about the early ‘90s legend with a powerful new dimension.
Thank god.. this came just in time. We were getting short on overdrives.
yep
Mmmhm
😝 how many is too many?
Mmm hmmm lol
Lol
That first jam reminded me of Play with Me, and then Led Boots removed any doubts that you were thinking of Jeff Beck. Nice!
Thanks for watching. Love jeff Beck
Jeff would have dug this and been smiling ear to ear. No doubt.
A very pleasant effect with a characteristic sound. Absolutely sufficient control options. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Many thanks!
The 2nd groove with the red guitar was nice.🎸🔊
Thanks for watching
Subscribed. Nice jam, great demo
Cascading mosfet diodes is brilliant. Sounds superb. Like this idea. Really nice demo.
Amazing performance!
Thanks so much!
Damn, that is some tone Mike
Killer pedal
Mine will be here tomorrow! Looking forward to it! 🤘
Hope you enjoy it!
Jeff Beck in the house!
I miss him! The best
I'd like to hear this on a p or jazz bass.
Sounds good on guitar for sure.
🔥
Thosenlow gain tones are tasty! Whee
They are!
Mofetta with led boots 🥾🦨🥾
Sounds like a gain-y 3-band TS solo but in the mix it seems trapped in the 100-1K range with almost no upper harmonics. It's like exhibit A of that old boxy 'pedal drive' sound that by the mid-80s onward was commonly rejected in favor of amp channel-distortion.
I don't know what the ODs are after today, beyond gene-splicing this circuit with that. OD is essentially a colored(EQ'ed) boost, and ideally it just makes your amp seem to be working harder than it is at lower volume. A simple tool, really - that has been marketed into ridiculous proportions.
People forget that "Tone" is about pitch intervals (semi-TONE, pentaTONic etc). Tone is **not a timbre you are 'chasing'** - but that's a whole other video.
Most of us are here to listen to Mike’s interpretations. They’re usually really creative and fun. We all know this saturated pedal bubble will burst, if it already hasn’t. It’s about the music, man [burnt out hippy voice].
So, you don't like the pedal.
@@obsoletecd-rom Tienes razón en que entramos a escuchar las interpretaciones de Mike, pero yo ya me he comprado más de un pedal por oirselos a él, bien es cierto que actualmente solo me he quedado con uno...un overdrive por cierto.
Doesn't seem to do much. Why bother?
Mofetta? 🤣
Maybe not for the guitar-players here in Sweden 😅
