    Hello to all the ARC-ONE Welding subscribers! We have absolutely loved watching Calvin’s most recent video as he goes through some of the incredible features of the new G5-01 - it is such an AMAZING bit of gear and we are sure many of you are already tempted to make the jump and get your welding gloves on it….Christmas is only 4 months away! We have noticed that some of our past customers are also subscribers to this channel and have left some comments on their experience with Craigmore. So, we just felt it was necessary and warranted to offer a short response…

    For many businesses at this present time, the current pandemic has proven to be a challenge, and for Craigmore this has been no different. Whilst we are not trying to simply ‘make excuses’ for delays on orders in recent weeks and months, we do however feel that our customers (both present and hopefully future!) deserve some explanation.

    As a company we admit that during the pandemic our customer service has not lived up to the high standards which we have always tried to deliver and pride ourselves on. In accordance with governmental guidelines, we needed to implement social distancing measures in order to protect members of staff which meant that fewer staff members were able to work at one time. As a result, our phone lines have needed to be temporarily taken offline, pushing all customer service enquiries to email only, with some staff responding from home and others in our office. Unavoidably, this has caused delays in our response times and our customer service team have been tirelessly working through each email to respond to every customer enquiry. Presently, we are still only able to be contacted via email, however in the coming weeks/months our phone lines will be fully operational again.

    Another factor which we feel is worthy of mention, is the longer lead times on Speedglas products coming into stock from our manufacturer. As you may already be aware, 3M are not only the manufacturer of Speedglas, but also the leading suppliers of PPE throughout the world. Given the unprecedented demand and necessity for this equipment, supplies to distributors such as ourselves have been negatively impacted. As I am sure you can understand, this has been frustrating for both us and indeed our valued customers - however, as inconvenient as this is, we do both recognise and appreciate 3M’s decision to prioritise healthcare over less essential items at this moment in time. All that being said, in recent weeks we have started to see stock coming in more quickly and our stock levels are thankfully returning to normal 😊

    On a more positive note, as a business, Craigmore is ‘weathering the storm’ that is COVID-19 and are pleased to report that we are most certainly going from strength to strength with a current expansion to our warehouse and offices currently underway - allowing us to stock a lot more welding equipment and supplies to our wonderful customers! To those who have already experienced delays and a less than satisfactory service from Craigmore, we are truly sorry and hope that the reasons highlighted above have offered some explanation. We haven’t got everything right over these difficult few months, however we have learned from our mistakes and ultimately our aim here has been to both offer some explanation and restore consumer faith and trust in Craigmore who have enjoyed supplying welding equipment for nearly 30 years.

    Finally, we want to express how excited we are to partner with Calvin and ARC-ONE Welding in this new venture. We have every confidence that Calvin’s expert knowledge and engaging videos will help highlight and show off the amazing range of Speedglas equipment we are proud to supply you!

    The Craigmore Team

    The new flat scratch resistant protective lenses are not ment to be used with MIG/MAG - they let the spatter through.
    To block the spatter getting under the flip-up in 9100FX... the headcover should have been attached to flip-up itself.

    Personally I think the 3M speedglas is a good helmet, just not the best for me personally. its super clear and very well built but I absolutely hate the headgear that's in it. I feel as though its way to mushy for my preference, and tge adjustment knob slips off the teeth causing it to loosen. what I find comfortable believe it or not is the basic Jackson Safety head gear, its built super tought, has a large tightening knob that doesn't jump teeth and is rock solid. If I could figure out how to rig it into the speedglas I would but for now I have to put it in my other helmets. just my two cents though.

      Go for the classes. They have all the safety equipment when it comes to dealing with fumes. Whether it be gases or smokey conditions. My college welding class has all sorts of ventilation systems when needed. Don't let that get in your way. You will have a great time learning to weld and it really is a lot of fun. Learning stick, mig or tig welding all kind of different materials.
      Best of luck to you!

      I don't know what all you can get across the pond, but I wear Red Wing 4420 Loggers. They take a licking and keep on ticking, as well as being comfortable enough to wear on concrete all day long. They are pretty heavy, and being a 9 inch lace up they're a whole lot of boot, but I'd recommend you try a pair if you haven't already and get your hands on a set. Only thing I might add, is to throw away the black insoles that come with them and put a set of the gray and green Comfortforce insoles in them.

    The metal springs on the 9100 fx were fine. The newer ones are plastic and crap. Cant get replacements so have to buy a whole new mask when they break. Literally all of us blokes in the welding bay have had them break. Had 2 masks in 2 years. What are the springs like on the new one? Surely you don't buy you own mask? Company has to provide that legally.

    Hello arc-one I purchase the g5-01, and have about a week of use with it, I notice that it has grinding dust inside the protective lenses on the adf, both inside and outside the mask , I think you mention in the review that on the outside part of the mask the dust enters inside the adf, but I have it both ways, do u have the same problem? , the welding itself its clear, but I distract myself from the welding pool and start noticing some rays of light coming out of the welding pool, I don't know if it's normal, if I have to get used to it, ore if it depends where I'm welding, the ambient light, the angle, the amps I'm welding with , but sometimes it's there and it's not the protective lenses that's causing it cause I replace them! I saw that u weld in tig and in mig, give it a try in Flux core hi Amp and let me know the results, I would appreciate an answer, thanks and nice review keep it going

    Heavy helmet no holder for a magnifying lens not been thought about

      @ARCONEWELDING  Год назад

      Yeah they are heavy for a mask but its because it offers so much protection, and the fx and g5 both have magnification space

      @@ARCONEWELDING I have to disagree with your comments on more protection for the weight been welding for 40 years I have had various helmets I have tried both them helmets the fx does have fitments for a magnifying lens I have used both the new g5 has no place for a magnifying lens to be fitted

      @@ARCONEWELDING would the g501 or the xxi PAPR helmet be better for a galvanized sheet metal job? It says on the description the the g501 is made for high amperage. Will the g501 be a good helmet for just sheet metal welding?
