I found one of my best fitting old welding caps (comeaux brand). I deconstructed it so I could reverse engineered it with your helpful video. I had good fun remaking new hats out of old denim jeans and other fun repurposed materials. Making them to snugly fit a certain size head was the most challenging part. So I made plywood disks of each head diameter size. I double check the snug fit of the partially finished hat by putting the disk in the cap and adjust the fabric accordingly. Thanks !

Hi Lana! I also have the Brother SE625 and love it. You have an automatic backstitch and cutter on your machine. It's on the LED screen left hand corner. I am now using the Brother Innov'is BQ 1350 didn't think it was possible to beat the SE625 but oh yes! This is my first attempt at making the caps my husband also is a pipeliner who knows lots of other pipeliners lol. He says they will be a hit. Wish me luck. Thanks for the video and making me laugh.

I’d like to find you on Facebook as I’m self taught and would love to have someone to help me and give me some guidance. Can these band steps be used on any welding cap with two linings? I make a welding cap but it is one that has no band. I want to add the choice of band or no band.
