What nicer person could a dog come to live with, and what nicer place to live! There is a certain rescue centre, I'm wondering if it's the same trust that we tried, who seemed almost reluctant to re-home their dogs their rules are so stringent. We almost gave up and bought a puppy instead, until the lovely people at Battersea presented us with our wonderful Toffee, whom we love and adore for over eleven years now!. Congratulations, and welcome Ted! Poor Dougal's face ❤
Indeed Simon, I understand that they have the animal's welfare at heart, but despite the rules I can provide about 73,500 references from people who see me together with Dougal. I was also refused a rescue 12 years ago because my beach house didn't have an enclosed garden, and no rescue centre believed that I could sufficiently toilet train and exercise a dog on a 5 mile sandy beach... :-/ As you can see, the experience traumatised Dougal, NOT!!!! :)
Father Dougal and Father Ted? Careful you don't get a Father Jack. He'd be a handful! Happy New year Andrew and happy new puppy too. Ted looks amazing. Do you think he's going to be a smiler?
Yes, Dougal is actually large for a Jack Russell (did you notice the pic with his sister in the video who is about half his size? ) and I think Ted will be a small Jack Russell. His mum was small.
Hi Andrew I thought at first you were looking after Ted, so exciting to hear he’s all yours and Dougals. I understand the trepidation with Dougals advancing years. I’m in a similar situation my own Jack Russell he’s 17 in October and thankfully in great health, races round like two year old. I know he’s not immortal so enjoy every day with him. I look forward to Teds adventures ❤️🐕
Gulp, your videos without Dougal don’t bear thinking about. Let’s hope he’s around to give us an occasional smile for a good few years yet. What a great way to start the New Year with a new puppy to bring added joy to your life. Happy New Year to you, I hope 2023 brings you all you wish for.
What a bundle of Joy Ted is , the moment he saw his reflection was priceless as was Dougal's response to Ted . Hope they bond well best wishes Helen and Martin
To reassure Dougal, make sure you feed him first, greet him first, etc. This will also help Ted recognise / understand his place in the pack order. We have for many years had 2 🐶’s, found this the best way to introduce a new one. They are both hiring the way xx
Oh wow, how wonderful to see you so happy with your new family member, Ted, he's so gorgeous, and very similarly marked to the lovely Dougal. Dougal will soon accept Ted is here to stay, and a bond will develop between them both, as well as with you. Your videos are so uplifting, I look forward to more Scottish scenery and adventures of Dougal and Ted. Happy New Year to you all, you bring so much joy xxxx
I totally understand your bond with Dougal, as we have our own Jack Russell mix that we would do ANYTHING for. She's about Dougal's age. But another dog is not in our future b/c we are 76 and 81 and it wouldn't be fair for the dog to be shuffled to a new owner if something happened to us. Enjoy your new baby and please post videos of him frequently!
Ahh, fingers crossed you'll have many years yet with your little JRT. As we are not planning to do so many trips, there probably will be more 'update' videos this year ;) Happy New Year to you.
Superb video. Congratulations on the new addition to the family - he’s gorgeous - but Dougal’s star shines bright. This was so moving and life-affirming.
Your strength of feelings about Dougal are exactly like mine with my dog. I don’t know how I will get through it so maybe another dog could be the answer when she’s older. Thanks for the idea. Douglas face was priceless 😂
I know this is almost a year old now, but I had a Jack Russell I adopted when he was 10. He had a heart murmur as well. He also had Thyroid cancer. He lived to his 19th birthday. They go and go and go. My experience with some rescues here in the US, South Carolina specifically, is similar. You want to adopt and they just want to obstruct that process.
So right! We have all life stages and often puppies spark older dogs into a second youth. Our dogs regularly make it to 16 or 17. The oldest was 18.5, and my most treasured video was Ti at 18 playing with our 8 week old Springer puppy.
Ted and Dougal will soon be friends...careful introductions, and making sure puppy isn't allowed to push Dougal past his tolerance levels will make for great buddies. Enjoy them both and have a happy 2023 building bonds between you all 😊
Exactly Debbie. You can see I keep them separate most of the time, and if Ted does start bothering Dougal he is warned once then it's 2 minutes time out in his crate. Happy New Year to you too.
I had a beautiful dog, Jack, and he was the most beautiful King Charles you ever saw. Unfortunately at 12 years old he got cancer and he had to go to dog heaven. Just couldn't replace him. I would have crawled over hot coals for him. I understand how you feel.
aww how sweet to see you having another member of the family come to you. I am shocked at the rescue centre, all these dogs need a home. you live in an ideal location and have a great life to offer, at least you got Ted, he will keep you both on your feet, paws lol.x
Obviously chill as much as you want and need. I would love seeing anything you do in your home area too. Best of luck for the new year Andrew, Douglas and Ted!
Hopefully Dougal will be with you for many years to come. Ted looks a beauty, wise decision getting him he will keep you young. You are correct about some rescue organisations, whilst understandably they need to be vigilant to protect their dogs, they do sometimes deny dogs a really good home as they are too stringent. Scotland is our happy place, our van knows it’s own way there 😊
Oh My Dog!!! You got a puppy. Bingley (my JRT) is almost 9 and I still haven't recovered from the puppy mayhem. Best of luck to you and Dougal. ❤ My two cats weren't impressed either but now they get on (to varying degrees). Of course, the cats are usually in charge. So much info and sage advice in your video - I feel like I've had a very rewarding counselling session. I was having a similar conversation with my partner, Andy, this weekend about how he will (not) cope when Bingley is no longer with us. I got Bingley to keep me company when my son went to university. Unfortunately, with lockdown my job role changed and I found myself working full time. Fortunately, Andy, who lives about 30 miles away, found himself working from home. Since then Bingley has spent the majority of the last couple of years with Andy. They have a very similar relationship as yourself and Dougal. I don't get a look in when those two are together. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Scotland. I absolutely loved your Christmas video - it was definitely art, beautifully filmed. I look forward to seeing more of Ted, I'm sure Dougal will come round eventually. 🤞 🐶 🤪
Happy new year to the three of you! And what a cutie is Ted, I couldn't stop smiling. As a dog owner, I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to get out of bed when you lose your precious friend, we went through that too. It takes a while sometimes, but by the looks of it, Ted is going to wind Dougal around his paw :-) (I hope this is the correct translation from Dutch). I really enjoyed your Christmas video with the new style of filming and look forward to more such videos from you from Scotland.
I have commented before as my dog Ben is exactly the same age as Dougal. My daughter has a 21 month old Border Terrier. Unfortunately she can’t visit too regularly so Ben hasn’t really been able to bond with Claude very much. At first his reaction was identical to Dougal’s with Ted. Many older dogs don’t like puppies. Ben has to put up with me who’s been somewhat immobile for nearly 2 years and his « dad » is 87, so he’s not used to really playing any more (and he could never catch a ball). Therefore playing with a puppy was never on. One year later he now tolerates Claude better and lets him lick his eyes ! Poor Claude doesn’t understand why his big cuz is so grumpy! I’m sure that since they’ll be together all the time Dougal will bond with Ted. Look forward to seeing the progress. Bonne Année 2023
I have a jack russell and he is 19 .5 years old, the oldest dog I have ever owned. He has lots of problems and like you we do anything to keep him healthy so he lives on boiled breast chicken and rice, twice washed in the cooking to get rid of all the fat. This keeps him with low symptoms from kidney disease and pancreatis. He also has vestibular disease but he just keeps going and can still run faster than me. I hope Dougal is exactly the same. Loved the clip of Ted and the mirror - more clips please!
Ted is a very lucky puppy to have a wonderful dad and big brother too. I'm sure, like our dogs who have welcomed a newbie, you'll find Ted grows on Dougal and they'll sneakedly (an Aberdonian nannaism) be found snuggled up together. I think you've made a very wise move, after our last dog passed we said no more, but found the hole was too big for us to cope with, so 4 weeks later Henry came home with us from the Dog's Trust. The 3 of us are snuggled in front of the log burner and wish you all the very best for 2023. X
Aaah, Andrew. We know how you're feeling, having been through the same life experiences. Dougal is adorable, but he will be able to teach Ted, who's also a darling. Wishing you all well & sending special hugs to Dougal❤
Dougal: ‘Get that thing away from me!’ Ted: ‘Why can’t I get to that puppy?’ ~~~~~ Oh Andrew, what a delight you are! Good luck with your new baby. Looking forward to your beautiful videos in 2023 😊 sending love and hugs to all three of you!!
You are doing the right thing. This pup will make Dougle smile and feel younger particularly if you give him the b12 spray .Now tablets.and zinc This will greatly improve his heart intercellular oxygenation of his so he can make new cells and live longer.I already love Teddie he's scrumptious Just make plenty of videos of them both and please share them and your beautiful Hebredes B12 spray and zinc .X
Dear old Dougal! I have thought to get a new pup but wondered if my older cairn terrier may get his nose out of joint at 11 yrs of age! Be keen to see how you go and hope Dougal realises he will allways be numero uno in the pack too🥰
My two yorkies are 17 years old (litter mates). One has been very fit and strong her whole life (although she's slowed down a lot in the last few months) but her sister has always been so much more delicate and now she is totally deaf and has lost the majority of her eyesight. It breaks my heart to see it. She hasn't quite got to the point where I have to make the final trip to the vet but that day is coming and it makes me so sad. Hopefully your Dougal will be around for a long time to come and I'm sure he and Ted will eventually be great mates ♥️
Happy New Year Andrew. When pets leave us they leave a huge hole in our lives. I had a cat who lived to 23 years old. Her loss came soon after the loss of my Mum and left me devastated. I refused the kids requests for a new pet be it dog or cat. Nearly 5 years ago (10 years after our loss ) a wee stray kitten came into our garden and latched on to us. It was a stray. No she wasn't she was from a family who moved onto a new estate nearby - however the kitten didn't like its new home and kept running away - the kitten was also 10 years old to our surprise she was just malnourished due to being on the run. We found her home and her owners said they were going to get her rehomed because she kept running away. Problem solved. Millie - for that was her name - was rehomed with US !! Nearly 5 years now she is so happy and so are we. I realise that she won't also get to the ripe old age of 23 but we are all in agreement when Millie goes we fix our grief by going to the local cat sanctuary and rehoming hopefully a couple of cats who need to be rehomed together. Keep up the good work we all love your content as much as we love Dougal and Ted looks a proper little tinker so I hope they both get on. See you in the next one..
It's funny how so often we THINK we choose our pets, but it's the other way round? Millie obviously knew where she'd be well looked after. Yes, it's heartbreaking when their time is up, but in the grander scheme it is tiny when compared to the joy they bring. Your plan sounds like a good one. Cheers!
Ted is a gorgeous addition to your family- im sure Dougal will grow to love him😆 Wishing you good health and happiness for 2023.Your new philosophy is a good one - as i get older i definitely appreciate what i have around me closer to home - love your videos x
I've been watching YT videos on The Hebrides and so appreciate having found you. I was also delighted to see your sweet Dogs. Ted looks so very much like my beloved JRT Lucky who was by my side for over 14 years, all of their markings are incredibly similar! Thank you for the great content, best to you in your move back to be closer to family.
Having watched you for a long time now, I would like to wish you & Dougal & Ted a wonderful time together, enjoying the beauty that our country has to offer and finding peace in the process 🦆💕
Our last rescue dog Dexter got very ill at 13 with vestibular syndrome, he got over it but was very weak for quite a while. I persuaded my husband to adopt another rescue dog, which we have now. Dexter lived another 3 years and reached 16+. We have dog rescues local to us so we are able to adopt. Dexter never really liked sharing us but he was a lovely friendly dog, never challenging the new dog who used to steal his food, until we cottoned on. Your dogs will find their status. Happy days. Our current rescue, staffyxwhippet will be nine this year.
What a bundle of joy Ted is. What i really love about this video is just how happy you are Andrew. Happy New Year to you and we cant wait for 2023. Keep up the good work
I can only say that I agree with everything you've said, I have been in this situation when you introduce a pup to an older dog who for many years like Dougal has been no1. I can guarantee that with your love of dogs they will become best friends, what a wonderful life Ted is going to have. I wish you well on your travels and look forward to seeing you all on your up and coming adventures
What a lovely video. Ted is absolutely delightful. I’m so pleased you have got him. I don’t think Dougal is too impressed, the look on his face was priceless. We look forward to your future videos this year. We can resonate with the slowing down theme. Thanks so much for sharing.
Speaking of enjoying what is in front of one’s face, for various reasons, I had been away from Piano playing for several years. Last month, I began to practice the piano again. A few days ago as I was playing a Chopin piece, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy. It was such a spontaneous serendipity that I could hardly believe it. May you, Dougal, and Ted experience many moments of serendipity In this new year!
All the best for 2023. Congratulations on conecting with Father Ted😎😎 . Scottish videos, fantastic! You live in one of the worlds most beautiful places.
Lovely little dog. Hope him and Dougal get on. Will take time. Going through an upgrade dilemma with my vlogging equipment too. Be interesting to see your ideas/solution.
I'm pleased with rationalising the Sony A7Sii and RX100vii into the A7C, but the GoPro (to replace the Sony FDR-X3000 AND the DJI Pocket 2) really didn't work out. The problem with the stabilisation trying to straighten bends in the road is going to be a tough one to fix. Will keep you posted.
@@andrewjditton Thanks for your kind words. I think as soon as my wife is ready we’ll be having another Border terrier. I’m a similar vintage to you and for the last 6 months of last year I was looking after my wife as she underwent gruelling cancer treatment, don’t worry this isn’t a sad story. Anyway, the hospital lent us a flat as we lived over 2hrs away and in the flat there was only one picture, a dog in a sidecar, so after weeks of looking at this I bought a Ural, perfect for man wife and dog. Enzo did manage to explore the sidecar, but the weather went down hill and I never got to take him for a spin, so a new dog is a must! (Side note, the cancer treatment worked my wife’s tumour has gone). Take care Andrew, your videos are an inspiration + useful for us motorhomists.
Welcome to the world, little Ted! I'm sure Dougal will accept him into your little pack soon, especially once he realises he's not going to lose his place. I'm looking forward to your adventures in 2023. don't forget to pack the normal scrabble and the travel scrabble. When I first saw Ted I wasn't sure if he was small, or far away 😉
Andrew - whatever you can get out will be fantastic, you put such time and effort in and it really shows. Looking forward to plenty of puppy content - it always does really well. Hope Dougal’s health continues to be robust and yes you need to slow down a bit and smell the roses 🌹 Happy 2023 to you all.
Ive alsays got 2 dogs 1 JR plus a.n.other breed. This JR got the biggest warmest welcome when she arrived as a pup from labradoodle. When its been her turn to welcome cockapoo pup she was horrid for a month then it clicked and they are best of friends but man did she give the pup a hard time. They still wont share a bed but boy do they play well together . Im delighted for you and itll be fine ...if not immediately then soon . Definitely right thing to do xxx so pleased to meet Ted thanks
Happy New Year One and All! I hope 2023 brings you all you ever wished for. Apologies about the sound levels being low - am still getting used to the new camera ;) Meanwhile, I need to go as Ted is running around the house with a pair of my socks in his mouth... :-/
Hope as a Two dog Dad now…..they bought you Socks for Xmas , lol Made up up for you , Ted is definitely a mini Dougal, and Dougal will come around in time….👍🇮🇲💞🐶🐶
@@jimmyconnolly3461 no, Dougal was normal size, Ted was just far away…..😂. Yes, I missed that connection…Ted & Dougal, I’m sure Andrew can let us know who is going to be Mrs Doyle 😂😂😂
Congratulations on the addition to your family! My Yorkie was recently diagnosed with a stage 3 heart murmur as well and with medication he is doing much better. Hope you have a great 2023.
Happy New Year Andrew. I suddenly lost my companion of 13 years in January 2022, a Border Collie called Cassie. Subsequently, I spent nearly 3 weeks in bed and on the sofa, not wanting to do anything, even eat!, the loss was so devastating! Rescued a gorgeous German Shepherd cross, Ebony, in March and everything returned to normal. I’m Glad you have Ted now and hope Dougal is with you for a long time to come. Looking forward to your new videos coming in 2023….
Oh my, sorry to hear about Cassie but yes, that would be me if anything happened to Dougal. I'm glad you have Ebony now. I do think that those strange 'non-dog' type of people could never understand. Happy New Year to you too.
Many thanks Linda. Right now it's the delights of potty training, i.e. taking Ted out into the garden at 0430 when it is blowing a gale and lashing down with heavy rain. They don't show you that side of being a Puppy Parent on Instagram! ;@)
Happy 2023! I'm totally with you about enjoying what's in front of us, on our doorstep and close to home. We do live in such a beautiful place and it's refreshing to slow down and soak it up. Good luck with Ted. I hope Dougal comes round to him soon. Best wishes to you all xx
I totally understand how you feel about Dougal. I feel the same way about my 10 year old Westie. She has been a big part of my family ❤ congratulations welcome Ted
Beautiful Scotland, Dougal and Ted. What more would you need 💙 Looking forward to seeing more of Scotland. Dougal always makes me laugh with his smile 😂 welcome Ted x
It is amazing how some Rescue Centres cut off their nose to spite their face. And now you have a new JR Terrier puppy. I lost my JR Terrier with age of 15 yrs, some time ago now and still miss him. Living circumstances prevented replacing my Darling dog. I hope you enjoy the last years with Dougal and the bonding of a family relationship with the Ted and Dougal. Have you looked at the Tesla Phone? I thoght it might be something for RUclips Videos. All the very best for 2023.
Hi Andrew I totally understand how you feel about Dougal i felt the same about my old boy Rocky. I made the decision to bring in a puppy when he was 9 as I could not imagine coping without him. I always made sure that he was never pushed out in fact quite the opposite!. My Rocky died 2 months ago just shy of 12 years and I can say it was the best decision. I miss him terribly but my pup Raven is now 3 and has helped me cope with the loss. All the best.
That is so good to hear, thank you! Yes, I am putting as much effort into making sure Dougal knows he is my number one as I am into trying to train Ted, aka The Menace! ;)
While we were watching the Christmas video we both said you might be needing a new arrival - and here he is! 😄 Adorable. Dougal needs time to adjust by the looks of it! Happy New Year from Cumbria.
Pretty sure everyone will love 😍Ted, and so will Dougal. Looking forward to your new videos. All the best to you and your both companions. Cheers Jutta
Aww Ted is so cute 🥰 but Douglas expression was priceless 😂 Happy New Year MrD I hope you get and achieve everything you wish for. Look forward to video’s made with 3 😊
Hi Andrew, a great update. So glad you are staying local in 2023. I've always preferred your Scotland vlogs but then I'm a Glaswegian who has been trapped down here in London and never had the chance to get up there. I'm a freelancer so no hols for me. Gerry Rafferty wrote a song all about it 😆 Anyway, I love wee Ted and I'm sure Dougal will take to him in time. I also think it's good you are taking time to take stock of all the new changes in your lives. I'd just like to add something about rescues. I have been a rescue volunteer for nearly ten years here in SW London. I really understand your decision not to choose to go with the rescue and their reluctance to offer you the opportunity to adopt a dog. Our charity does quite invasive home checks before they let an animal go. It's always very difficult to insist on this from well intentioned adopters but I hope you understand (and I'm sure you will) that these checks are really necessary. It's essential to minimise the chance of the animal coming back to the charity if it does not work out. I lot of upset for all involved including the animal. We do so much prep in making the adoption process an adoption for life. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your quality content this year. You have been my window to Scotland for many years now. Many thanks as always...🙂👍
Hi Mark, yes I totally get why rescue centres have such stringent rules, which is why I didn't go on about it or criticise. But it is a pity that nobody could take a moment to review my past 10 years of Life with Dougal. We actually met this dog on a walk, and the foster dad was taken aback that the dog came up to me for attention and engaged with Dougal - both of which were a first for this dog. It's a pity because Dougal liked him. Anyway, I'm sure Dougal will warm to Ted. I could do without the lack of sleep and potty training in the driving rain and gale force winds. They never show you THAT on Instagram! ;@)
@@andrewjditton Haha, I know what you mean about lack of sleep. I often tell our foster rabbits 'you'll thank us for this one day...' when cleaning all the hutches, They don't like you messing with 'their' space... 😄Truth is it's a pleasure to be volunteering (but hard work in winter). Ted will be worth all that hard work. 🙂
Funny enough, on a different but related subject, I'm also looking for a new Macbook Pro. I'll need something beefy to run After Effects and Cinema 4D. Really torn between the 14 inch and 16. Think I'll wait till spring too. Will be interesting to see what you get... 🙂
Your love and commitment to Dougal has always impressed me. Your videos, especially the Christmas one, are absolutely beautiful and of such high quality! And to learn more about Scotland sounds brilliant to me. What a snooty rescue centre! I know they have to be careful but then there is being a jobsworth. Welcome Ted and I hope you and Dougal develop the same bond as my sons two dogs.
Hey Andrew--right there with you on the bond between humans and their pups. Most of my canines over the years have had heart murmurs and were on meds for it, so they lived well until they didn't, and then tough decisions need to be made quickly for comfort. Many blessings to you and your family (canine and human) in 2023!!
A new puppy is always something great! Sadly no time to look for a photo taken while we took Uno back home 1,5 years ago (I have to leave to drive some trains this morning ;-) ). It is true that having a dog forces you to go outside, I know going out with the dogs through all kinds of weather has helped me a lot. We have New Foundland dogs, so when the weather is bad here, they don't care at all, on those days, happy to be back home after a walk, but also a mental boost, so happy to have done it.
Your comment is well timed. I'm sat unable to sleep having had to take Ted outside at 0430 in the Hebridean gales and lashing rain... Enjoy driving trains. I miss my railway family.
Happy New Year Andrew, Dougal and Ted. Ted is absolutely adorable and has very similar face markings to Dougal. They will be great friends in a very short time, and will bring you so much joy. I loved your Christmas video and look forward to your 2023 content.
Lovely puppy but I keep chuckling at the names, makes me think of Father Ted the old tv show
Both pups are so cute. Oh go on, you are cute too Andrew!!

Your right , the daughters old Labrador has had a new lease of life since the Pomeranian came into the home.
Welcome Ted! We look forward to many wonderful videos featuring the three of you in 2023! Happy New Year Andrew!
Andrew, you do not need to travel far from home, there is so much to see and enjoy around where you now live. Poor old Dougal the face says it all 😀
So true!
I had a beautiful dog, Jack, and he was the most beautiful King Charles you ever saw. Unfortunately at 12 years old he got cancer and he had to go to dog heaven. Just couldn't replace him. I would have crawled over hot coals for him. I understand how you feel.
Oh I'm so sorry to hear about Jack. Hugs.
I had a Jack Russell that had a heart murmur and lived to the ripe of age of 18. I hope Dougal does as well ♥️👍♥️
So pleased for you😊
aww how sweet to see you having another member of the family come to you. I am shocked at the rescue centre, all these dogs need a home. you live in an ideal location and have a great life to offer, at least you got Ted, he will keep you both on your feet, paws lol.x
Cheers Kelly! Yes, sometimes you wonder about rescue centres, but I guess they have the best interests of the dog at heart.
Slowing down also means quality in terms of life. Welcome Ted.
Dougal and Ted...!!! What a lovely and cute couple....I really love them!! Kind regards from Belgium, Harald
Many thanks Harald! Happy New Year to you.
Many thanks! Although Dougal is not falling for any of Ted's nonsense so far ;)
Awww he is tooo cute...Dougal will warm to him soon enough...
Thank you Andrew for good quality videos and clear English! Best wishes you, and your beautiful dogs 🎉
Thank you very much!
Merci Pam. Dougal is already slowly coming round, and is helping massively with potty training! Bonne Année à toi aussi.
Ted is adorable, his head colouring is so "mini Dougal". The pair of them are going to run rings round you 😂
Yep, they already are! ;@)
The things we do for our loved ones! I'll carry on documenting Ted's progress, that is for sure.
Aww, glad to hear about Henry. And... don't tell ANYONE... but I saw Dougal go into Ted's crate last week and lie down with him! ;)
@@andrewjditton your secret is safe with Henry and I.
Dougal and Ted... are you sure you're not living on Craggy Island? Happy new year to you all
A lot of people are naturally making that assumption - but no! Just coincidence :)
Will discuss with the vet, thanks for the tip!
Dear old Dougal! I have thought to get a new pup but wondered if my older cairn terrier may get his nose out of joint at 11 yrs of age! Be keen to see how you go and hope Dougal realises he will allways be numero uno in the pack too🥰
Ted is adorable poor old dougal I hope he has many more years jack Russell's can reach 20 years no problem 👍🏻
Ted’s gorgeous Andrew. Congratulations. But Dougal refusing to look at Ted did make me laugh 😂. Happy New Year buddy 🎉
Many thanks Tony, Happy New Year to you too!
Aww, sorry to hear about your babies. Still, as I am sure you will be fed up with hearing, 17 is a good age. Big hugs x
Aww, many thanks Michelle. Happy New Year to you too.
I'm really happy for you. The rescue dog thing can be frustrating, but it is what it is.
Indeed Chris, that's why I wouldn't criticise or overly labour the point - just nipping any criticism of my puppy in the bud.
Many thanks Pam. x
My heart fell into my boots when I got a notification about this video - so glad it's a happy 'tail' after all! 😀And a happy new year to you, sir!
Cheers Mr Le C, happy new wotnot to you too!
Aww, that's nice to hear. Yes, I already have to watch them at mealtimes as Dougal is so passive and Ted such a menace... Happy New Year to you.
@@andrewjditton Happy New Year to you too.
Welcome Ted! I’m sure Dougal will warm to him …. Eventually. Happy New Year, Andrew
I hope so! I think he will, with time...
What a bundle of joy Ted is. What i really love about this video is just how happy you are Andrew. Happy New Year to you and we cant wait for 2023. Keep up the good work
Many thanks, Happy New Year to you too!
Happy New Year to you, Dougal and now Ted! Hope the new year brings more blessings & adventures. Greets from PH 🇵🇭. 👍🏼🎉🍀🐶🐕
Many thanks Kitty, Happy New Year to you too!
Thank you so much Jennfer!
Thank you!
All the best for 2023. Congratulations on conecting with Father Ted😎😎 . Scottish videos, fantastic! You live in one of the worlds most beautiful places.
Cheers Bernie, Happy New Year to you too!
We lost Enzo our little Border Terrier on the 19th of December and it knocked us for 6 so I completely understand your bond. Very pleased for you.
Oh no! That's such sad news. So sorry to hear that. These little creatures make such a big impact to our lives.
Absolute classic, welcome Ted, happy new year to the 3 of you. 😊
Many thanks Brian, Happy New Year to you too.
Ted smiled. 🐾🐾
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too!
That's good to hear! Dougal ALWAYS takes a long time to warm to other dogs, but he gets there in the end.
Happy new year Andrew and Dougal and welcome Ted! Hope you'll all have the best 2023 possible. Cheers! :)
Happy New Year to you too!

Indeed. Well, I demand to be father Jack.😉😂😂
How gorgeous is Ted, poor Dougall not wanting to make friends. I’m sure they will soon be the best of pals 😅
Well Christine, Dougal crept into Ted's crate this week to lie down with him :)
@@andrewjditton that’s wonderful
Congratulations on the addition to your family! My Yorkie was recently diagnosed with a stage 3 heart murmur as well and with medication he is doing much better. Hope you have a great 2023.
That's good to hear. Happy New Year to you too!
Brilliant xxx love this news take care hope dougal will like Ted xx
Gorgeous Ted. We have never had any problems with DJI Osmo Actions camera wise
Wow. 2 became 3!
Good luck with training Ted. He looks a cutie x
Many thanks Linda. Right now it's the delights of potty training, i.e. taking Ted out into the garden at 0430 when it is blowing a gale and lashing down with heavy rain. They don't show you that side of being a Puppy Parent on Instagram! ;@)
@Andrew Ditton o well that's the unsung joy of pet ownership. Good luck for the 4am visits x
Ted is absolutely gorgeous not sure Dougal is impressed though looking forward to your adventures in 2023
He will come around, he always takes a long time to get to know another dog.
So lovely to see little Ted!! He is definitely going to be a bundle of fun!!I Hope Dougal gets used to his new friend soon xxx
Happy 2023! I'm totally with you about enjoying what's in front of us, on our doorstep and close to home. We do live in such a beautiful place and it's refreshing to slow down and soak it up. Good luck with Ted. I hope Dougal comes round to him soon. Best wishes to you all xx
Thanks Janice! Happy New Year to you too x
How lovely Andrew, all the best to you and your four legged chums for 2023. Thank you and take care. What a delight.

Happy New Year to you all! Ted is adorable and I'm sure uncle Dougal will teach him all he needs to know about life x
Happy new year to you all. Ted is just adorable x
Thanks Cathy! Happy New Year to you too.
Sorry to hear about your beloved JRT :( No, I've not heard about the Tesla phone. Will have to look into it. Happy New Year to you too!
How very perceptive of you! And to think when we were filming that we had NO idea! Happy New Year to you too!
Pretty sure everyone will love 😍Ted, and so will Dougal. Looking forward to your new videos. All the best to you and your both companions. Cheers Jutta
Many thanks J! Happy New Year to you too.
Aww Ted is so cute 🥰 but Douglas expression was priceless 😂
Happy New Year MrD I hope you get and achieve everything you wish for.
Look forward to video’s made with 3 😊
Thank you! You too!
I often tell our foster rabbits 'you'll thank us for this one day...' when cleaning all the hutches, They don't like you messing with 'their'
space...
Indeed Lyn, Rules is Rules despite about 73,500 references from people who witness my life with Dougal. Hey ho. Happy New Year to you.
Ted is adorable. He does look like Dougal. May you have a very Happy 2023.
Many thanks! Happy New Year to you too :)
It's a toughie isn't it? Happy New Year to you.
@@andrewjditton yep, it's tough but I wouldn't trade them for anything. I suspect the same goes for you!!
Many thanks Jane - Happy New Year to you too!
