It is the other way around, Brandon wrote and composed this song for Diana and she usually sings this solo and it is gorgeous, but for this new years concert they sang it as a duet, it turned out beautiful. You are right you never heard Diana go this high before because this is super high, Sopranos have difficulty even reaching that note and Diana held it as a Contralto very impressive stuff.
