Never thought I would get to my age….i don’t like this old joke that’s happened to me…I used to be so bright, independent and ready for anything…not so much now….i used to dance 3/4 times a week, tennis twice a week, read 2/3 books a week, a full time job, and cross stitch, crochet and knitting….i really don’t know where all the time went…now being retired for 15 years, I can do none of that…not even close…now it is a effort to make my bed, get my groceries, cook and clean…losing energy is the worst thing that has happened to me…
@@LorraineYork You must have been amazing doing so much and I can imagine it is very frustrating not to be able to do so much. I do I understand completely. I’m so lucky to have a backup, he’s off doing extra shopping as I’m writing, all the things I’d forgotten on a delivery while I’ve had a nap after very little sleep last night. I think that’s my most frustrating thing. Yes, my body isn’t up to doing much but lack of sleep makes it so much more difficult. I think you are allowed to have a ‘whinge and a whine’ as I wrote about a little time ago! I wish we could have a cuppa together! 🙏🏻❤️🤗
So true that ageing impacts a man more. Im watching my weight lifter, black belt in karate and jiu jitsu, husband, starting to diminish. He is only 66, but is having those "bad days". Your poetry is so insightful. Touches upon nearly, each and every one of us. I look forward to your lovely words.
Beautiful. I found this poem especialy touching. I believe that ageing is a privilege & not a given. My brother died when he was 25, my sister died at 43, then three years ago my eldest brother died at 59. I miss them all terribly, yet am deeply thankful to have shared so many moments, good & bad with each of them 🙏❤️
@@carmengiles456 Yes a privilege,indeed. I’m so sorry for all the losses you’ve had, so many. You will have so many rich memories, as you say all aspects, they make the tapestry don’t they that is life. But not as amazing as growing old alongside of them🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

My daughter and I were discussing ‘numbers’, her case clients and me subscribers and saying the old ego is getting a run! But the truth I think is that the numbers are validating what we do and that they do indeed serve a purpose as you say. Thankyou again! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️
