@@MaverickOW2it is but u can apply it to ur ranked games. Ult tracking and ur response to what the enemy team will do whenever u do X is still something you should b thinking abt. Super good skills to have
I instantly related this to chess. My old tennis coach made our team learn chess to relate it to tennis as you must anticipate your opponents responses and plan accordingly.
Solo carrying is veeery doable up to Masters or so I'd say, if you're playing a character that's pretty good at getting picks. Something like an Ashe, Tracer or highly skilled Widow can go pretty far, because erasing 2 people on their team and making it a 5v3 pretty much wins the fight even with disappointing teammates. But indeed, eventually, you'll climb to a point where solo impact isn't enough because the enemy team is coordinating to shut you down (or plain and simple, an enemy player is as good as you and nullifies the advantage you bring to the table.)
The certain skill level is more for scrims and tournament play. In Comp, you can be top10 solo carry. Or you can even peak rank1 solo carry. (Usually you wont be able to maintain off of soloQ alone). Its easier if you have a duo, but you can realistically maintain top10 soloQ.
The misconception is that even ‘solo carry” and soloQ there are character synergy fundamentals and timings that you could characterize as ‘team play” despite 90% of that synergy and timing is in your control.
Yeah basically this. If you're Zarya and you've got Grav, for example. Enemy team has Lucio with Beat and IDK, Ashe with B.O.B or something. You can either: 1. Try to pick off the Lucio before you attempt Grav, so there's no Beat available, or 2. you can try to force him to use it just by spamming left clicks and normal abilities. But even if you manage that, you've still got B.O.B to worry about, right? So you might land a good Grav, but your team will get hosed by B.O.B. So your best win scenario is to force the Beat, then pop the Grav, and then *run* when Ashe throws out B.O.B so it gets no value (or focus it and kill it instead of the people caught in Grav). You just traded 2 ults for 1. If you'd tried to 'fight' by just throwing grav and left-clicking the people trapped in it, you would have lost, but by trading 2-for-1 then you come out ahead on Ult economy, even if nobody on either team dies. If they have ult(s) and you don't have anything, then the best response is to just refuse hard engages. Don't fight. Harass until you've gained at least some Ults on your team, and try to force them to use theirs. When they do, just walk away. Sure, you'll lose time/distance on the Obj, but you won't have given up kills.
Spilo took "keep cooking" to a new level
Everybody gangsta when we be cooking... Lasagna🦆
Too good
this is really advanced not because its hard to understand but because your not going to be able to convince your team to not go in
This is meant for team play for the most part

This isn't true I do this successfully all the time in ranked
my action: flank
enemy response: attack me
my response: die to the enemy
enemy response: laugh
my team response: yelling at me :D

I thought the same. Chess players see the material trades and forced moves into the future and know what moves will come out on top.
your advanced theory vids are really cool. I love applying your advice in scrims
Having one layer atleast was amazingly well said

Hey spilo, do you think the game is Team based and You have to rely on your team or it is possible to Solo carry? , thanks!
It is possible to solo carry until you get to a certain skill level where teamplay is necessary

What do you think of flashpoint?

Trying to get them to spend their resources while also trying to conserve yours, such as time and ultimates.
