She said: I take advantage of these moments to tell you something that I have in my heart. When I made this song I was in a moment of great despair, which I feel is a feeling that many of you here may know. Above all, when listening to this song, feeling accompanied and I just want to tell you that the music is there for you, that you are not alone, you have me, you have my sisters, you have my entire team and you have each other, we are all united here for one reason, and that seems very nice to me, so I want to invite you tonight to remember those moments where we forget that we are all together and that anything is possible, and sing this song to those moments, to at the end of the song, let them go completely. What do you think? perfect
Thanks, beat me to it. Always like to post it for those that do not turn on the English subtitles. Absolutely a beautiful part of this song...not to be missed.
These ladies hit different because they fought long and hard to keep their own identity when signing their first contract. They are a perfect example of how social media can be used to unite people instead of segregating them!
The only thing missing in this beautiful acoustic version, is Dany's guitar solo, one of her finest. When I first heard her say "you are not alone, you've got me, you've got my sisters" (there are english subs available) or something along those lines, was when I realized that the reasons to love them are getting way too many to count at this point. 3:30 The smile, and the little head shake, she couldn't believe her eyes, or ears. But you'd better believe it Dany, you really are that loved. And that guitar isn't just an instrument, it's a piece of art.
They have proven their talent with the discipline they have demonstrated to their craft through practice and skill that I doubt most people outside of TWA understand. But for certain anyone who witnesses them perform live comes away from the show with a new perspective. And now, they are doing shows for TV and special events that are putting them in front of a new audience and they are interacting with other musicians at these events and doing collaborations with other bands and writing songs with some outside musicians. Their world is steadily expanding as the word spreads about them.
This song is from their debut album, XXI Century Blood, released in 2017. Dany wrote it in 2015 when she was just 15. Dany shared this about the song at a storytelling concert at Agua Fría in 2018 (translated from Spanish): "With your permission, I'm going to sit down to tell you a little more about this next song. Well, this next song is very, very, very special for me because, to be honest, I struggled a bit more when I first started as a composer. I remember being in Boston-we were studying at Berklee College of Music-and we had a composition class. It was a group class where each of us had to bring a composition. We would analyze it and see what could be improved. We had the task of writing a song. I remember that one day before class, I still had absolutely nothing. I was thinking, 'What am I going to do?' It wasn't because I was lazy or had forgotten the assignment-I just hadn't found inspiration for a song. In that moment of despair, I missed my home and my friends a lot because we had been away for a long time. I also felt like nobody understood that I didn't work the same way as others when it came to composing. That's when this song, When I'm Alone, was born."
Written by homesick stressed out 15 year old Dany as a composition assignment while at the Berklee Music College summer program. She couldn't think of anything to write for her assignment and this song came to her the night before it was due. There are still tickets for 7 February in Mexico City and I expect it to be just as epic as Pepsi Center. That's why I'm going.
They write all their songs and have done so since they were kids. All 3 sisters are classically trained pianists since the ages of about 3 or 4. Dany wrote this song around the age of 16 when she was extremely homesick at THE BERKELEY SCHOOL OF MUSIC where her and her sisters attended a program wherein she and her sisters had to work separately with other students for several weeks or months. Her teachers gave her the assignment of writing a song and she came up with this song overnight at the last minute.
Love how moving this song is. I play this and Breathe when I want to get into my feels. If you had turned on the captions, we would have had Ginger waterworks and I would have been crying with her. Please keep reacting to this concert
I just checked the individual song's subtitles (I hit the C key once) and it only brought up subtitles for the speaking part and was translated perfectly.
So this show was in Mexico City. In February they return to Mexico City to do three shows at the National Auditorium which holds 10,000 people. Two of these are sold out. So if you want to see another masterpiece show, there are still tickets for the third show. This time they will do their latest album, Keep Me Fed.
Love that you could react to this performance, it’s been one of my favorites since I saw it, it’s just beautiful. The way these girls can convey such emotion when singing is amazing. I know someone already posted the translation of what she said but as a native Spanish speaker I feel it wasn’t quite the same so ill just leave it again😅: Mexico City I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get over this view, wow. I’ll seize this opportunity to say something I have in my heart. When I wrote this song I was going through a very desperate moment. And I think that’s kind of a feeling a lot of us can relate to, specially while listening to this song, to feel accompanied. I just want to tell you that music will always be there for you and that you are not alone, you’ve got me, you’ve got my sisters, you’ve got all my team and you also have each other; We are all gathered here for the same reason and I find that very beautiful. So… I want to invite you all tonight to remember all these times when we forget we are together and anything is possible to sing this song to those times, so when the song is over we can let them go completely. Do you agree? Crowd answers: YES!! Perfect, let’s go.
Great reaction, as always, guys! As you said, it was just as impactful as Pau's performance. In the future, for the captions and translation, hit the caption button, then go to settings, captions, and auto-translate to English. That way, you can get the maximum emotional impact out of the experience.
We all have that feeling of pride with these young ladies. Don't let the haters ruin their ascent, because DPA will do what they need to and want to do despite the ramblings and rumblings coming out of the wood work.
They are making amazing strides year after year, with no signs of slowing down. Last night they released their 2024 recap video. It's just over 6 mins, and they give a glimpse of the Highlights as they traveled the globe, and more. Worth the watch, and if you haven't been keeping up to date with them it will give you perspective. They are kicking off 2025 with shows in Mexico this Feb. As of today, Feb7 in Mexico city their 3rd date there still has tickets. Feb 13 in Guadalajara, Feb 22 in Monterrey (their hometown) still have tickets. In March the drop down to South America for 7 shows starting in Sao Paulo, ending in Bogota.Hope you can get to one of those shows, and finally see them in person. Happy New Years! 🤘🥳🤘
Going to a concert by these girls and seeing and feeling their musical power is totally different than being in front of a computer monitor, no matter how good the song or presentation is.
4:19 You should have just paused and rewound it and turned on closed captioning... The song has so much more meaning when you know what she was saying.
This song is all Dany, even full band there are no backing vocals from Ale or Pau. Included on the 2017 1st album, XXI Century Blood, it was written by a 15 year old homesick Dany as a homework assignment while at Berklee College of Music.
When you can’t understand something, try close captions-auto translate-English. Worth a shot! It is setup to work in this video you reacted to. The warning tries to help viewers like that when they can 😊
If you watch reviewers who have professional backgrounds in music or psychology or whatever you really get a sense of how special this band is because they are universally praised as exceptional songwriters, musicians and human beings. They are so deceptively talented that it's impossible for "normal" people to really appreciate how much raw skill, hard word and determination are needed to make it look as effortless as they do. And the haters, bless their hearts, are so clueless they think playing and songwriting are as easy as walking out on a basketball court and casually shooting threes like Steph and Caitlin. Making something look easy is incredibly hard to do.
The version of this in the entire concert video has subtitles burned into the video during most of her Spanish-speaking parts. You won't see them in the stand-alone song clip.
Once you go from player, to musician, to performer, things change. For better or worse. It is up to us to make it - for the better - for them. The Warning IS something special. That means the people that bring us "The Warning." Let's be special back to them. Let's allow them a good personal life . . . and let's Rock the h___ out of their concerts.
An 11 years old band, first album 8 years ago, 4 albums since, hundreds of concerts, a constant evolution... if they were gimmicky, somebody would have noticed since.
You 2 always have such heart warming reactions. I can tell the both of you have been "Warned!" Ok you say you missed the best show ever? You have to realize that every The Warning concert is better than the previous one performed. They will be playing in Mexico and South America starting next month. You absolutely NEED to see them live. No excuses. Maybe you could do a areaction to one of their live performences? Just a thought.
Nice one guys. I know exactly what you mean about that "proud uncle" feeling. Imagine how their parents feel... So many kids strike you as a waste of time, but every now and then you find one (or three) who restore your faith and make you think "oh _these_ kids are worth supporting & nurturing". I'm reasonably confident that they won't crash and burn because they've got a good, solid support mechanism of family and long-term team around them who are genuiely looking out for their interests. The only thing that might break that is if one of them starts to feel stifled by it, but fingers crossed... There's this great feature RUclips has that all reactors should take advantage of called subtitles! It will translate Spanish into English and put it on the screen for you! Amazing!
I think Dany did this acoustic by herself to allow her sisters to change clothes backstage. This concert had two halves. The Warning went from black outfits to white outfits.
This song actually rocks pretty hard, this is a solo acoustic version, obviously. Check them out at Ted X from about eight years ago, you will be moved trust me
The Warning are a real band. Britney Spears and so many other young musicians were turned into commercial products that masked their true identity, leaving them in existential crises and poor mental health. The Warning and their parents and manager were smart enough to forge their own sound and path before they signed with Lava Records for their third and later albums. They already had a large following on social media, and the respect of many other artists. So they have a pretty good grip on their authenticity. It was a negotiating strength for them.
Normally I wouldn't ask, but since Mike said "I wish we could" turn on subtitles . . . is there something preventing you from doing so? I don't want to sound rude, but if you're viewing this through RUclips, it's one tap of the C key and then the left arrow a few times.
They should have just activated the subtitles and they would have understood what they said in Spanish, I remind you to leave them activated when you react to The Warning and they are concerts in Mexico.

@SDsailor7 Thank you for the correction.
Berklee, the music school, is in Boston. Berkeley, University of California, is in Oakland, CA.
