Art is always open to interpretation but Pau has said the song is about addiction. In my opinion (as an alcoholic), it’s one of the most haunting and accurate depictions ever. The spiraling sense of hopelessness, isolation, and self loathing… it’s all there. "I surrender in my defeat!" And she was 13 when she wrote it. Little friggin genius.
This song is from their first album when she was 15 years old, the song is about addiction. when you take into account none of them have personally gone through it she really hit the nail on the head. A perfect song to follow up this it's called Breathe, it was the song right after this at the same show and only time ever done live. remember turn on cc for it because the spoken Spanish introduction is important. you'll understand.
@@erinna_the_white_rose Pau says the song Breathe is a panic attack set to music. She has said that the song is intensely personal to her and when they included it on their Error album the condition was that they would never perform it live. So that one time is likely the only time!
Black Holes (Don’t Hold On) is about someone struggling with addiction and the internal battles they face. The protagonist recognizes their self-destruction and urges others not to hold on to them, knowing they have nothing left to give. The song explores emptiness, regret, and the consuming darkness symbolized by “black holes,” representing their descent into hopelessness. Lines like “I thought I’d won all my different battles” reflect the realization that their struggles run deeper than they thought. Ultimately, it’s a plea to protect loved ones from being pulled into their turmoil, acknowledging they have become a source of pain. Crazy that a 13 year old wrote this.
Excellent description , there is a song that she also wrote when she was 12 years old: "Escape The Mind", it is one of the best song I have heard in many years..
Keep in mind that all three of them were recovering from the flu. Pau still had symptoms and her energy level was adversely affected to the extent that her doctor gave her a steroid to get through the show. And it was a longer format show for them, close to two hours with Pau singing lead on several songs as well as doing backing vocals and of course, playing drums. They didn't want to postpone the show because it was a sold-out show of 8000 people.
Thanks Erinna, having lost my Brother to addiction, this one always hits hard. Pau is a genius in so many ways, the ability and empathy to write a song like this at 13 years old is incredible. This one hits home and the next one "Breathe" will tear your heart out. She is an amazing young women. Happy New Year.
Ty all for showing up to the premiere ✨️ I appreciate the ❤️ If u like the reaction, please light it up ! 👍 . Let's me know I'm on the right path . Numbers let me know for demand . Stay warm and stay safe Erinna_The_White_Rose Xoxo
For those recovering from or familiar with the disease of addiction, this is a trigger for all the emotions involved. That a 13-year-old kid would read an article about it and write this song? WOW. Pau is a friggin' genius. She is an emotive empath, capable of getting inside the soul of a character and pulling it out for us all to see and hear and feel. She's playing with a ten-piece string section here. This is probably the best rendition of the song she has recorded. She followed it up with a special treat - *Breathe,* a song she said she would never play live. THAT one is personal, and special. 2023 Drummeo Rock Drummer of the Year, 2023 Modern Drummer Up and Coming Drummer, lyricist, composer, pianist, vocalist, music video director... This is a generational unicorn band. If you want closed captions, play the songs from the FULL CONCERT VIDEO. English translations are burned into the video for some of the Spanish speaking parts.
@@erinna_the_white_rose If you watch it, turn on captions and auto translate to English. She tells the crowd it’s a song she swore never to perform live (too personal) but she wants to do it for the fans. She’ll probably never do it again because it nearly wrecks her.
If English is not your first language, your difficulties in understanding are natural. Try to listen several times, Also stop playback before you talk. That's how a lot of reactors miss the words being sung. Can't hear because of their thinking about what to say.
Ty for the constructive feedback . I do first reactions , no playback . I am honest to a fault lol . U get a real first reaction. Have a blessed day honey Ty Erinna_The_White_Rose

Beautiful voice. I’ll have to look them up❤
❤️⚡😭 Yup, crying again. This song hurts, and I hope others never understand why.

And they were doing this show in Mexico City which is over 7300 ft above sea level (to add to the difficulty level of the performance)
That i didn't know. Amazing
MAGIC is here!!!!
