My sister just passed away from breast cancer and we’ve been obsessed over makeup since we were teenagers. We bonded over makeup and spent hours on the phone talking about makeup. We had our Ulta carts full too. 😂 😂. I don’t know why I shared all that but I do agree that we should appreciate the makeup we already have!!

"Because the people will complain." 😆😆😆 love this video idea. I am currently in a no-buy for all beauty products (as well as candles). I also found myself constantly purchasing all the new products that flooded the market and ended up realizing I have the same products over and over again. Like you said, once you find something you like, you start being attracted to it and see it everywhere. There really is nothing wrong with our "old" makeup and these videos are a great reminder to enjoy what we already have in our lives.
What tempts me the most, is eyeshadow palettes. I need to learn how to shop my own singles better and look critically at the palettes I already own. Fall palettes are calling to me! I really love how you pair honest reviews with reminders that you always have the option to shop your own stash. I appreciate your push towards really thoughtful and intentional purchasing.
I'm the same. But I started using all the fall palettes I have each day. Another one each day really shows me how much I have and how I already have tons of overlap in what I own and how all the palettes being released look the same 😅. I own every possible fall palette and shade anyone could release. Using your make up and consciously changing each day/rotating it really makes crystal clear how you really don't need any more in a way nothing else does
I love how you talk to the kitties--kind of a love speech. I agree about the shelter cats--I have had four (all black cats). The one I currently have is most likely my last, but she was young when I got her. The first couple of days she was home she rarely slept. She ran from room to room, to the basement, into closets. Finally, she gave up, I looked for her high and low because I was so used to having her running around. I found her camped out on top of tall dresser. That was about 6 years ago.

When I have no shows to catch up on I spend ALL of my screen time watching Em’s videos. I’m talking wayyyyy back videos! I watch a minimum of 4 Emily videos daily…and it never gets old! Hey Em. Happy Thursday. I’m a fairly long term subscriber of yours and always look forward to your video up load days. Today, I am enjoying your video a little but extra! Your video has been an incredible distraction from the chaos and nightmare that is Southwest Florida today. I live about 15-20 miles directly east of Fort Myers beach where the eye of hurricane Ian made landfall. My husband and I along with our two dogs and home successfully survived the storm with minimal damage to our landscaping and pool cages. All things that can easily be fixed. Unfortunately, that is not the case for SO many people. The devastation is unfathomable!! Peoples large boats washed ashore inland and in the middle of main roads, the causeway between Sanibel Island and the main land crumpled! Many people stranded and deaths “too numerous to count” as of now per the Lee County Sheriffs Office. Please keep southwest Florida and all the people affected by this disaster in your thoughts and prayers. My husband and I feel incredibly lucky and incredibly grateful, and will be doing whatever we can to help those around us that weren’t as fortunate. P.S. our subdivision isn’t too far from the Fort Myers airport, so we share a power grid with the airport. Somehow in those 100 mph sustained winds and 140 mph wind gusts we never lost power! Although, most of The newer construction home communities down here all of your electric lines and such are underground so that definitely helps with the power situation.

I decided to cut back for since the pandemic and haven't look back since. I used to purchase so much you though I had a channel. I had to buy extra storage. Em, I really appreciate how you can do a beautiful makeup tutorial, teach us good things in life and be positive. And I appreciate that you aren’t negative about products but you realize that we don’t need to have it all to be happy. Thank you for the reminders that we can use what we have, love what we have and not have to spend a lot of money. But it’s ok to treat ourselves to something new occasionally. Best Em advice ever: cover the pop of color in an eyeshadow palette and look at how basic the rest of the colors are. Saved me from buying too many eye palettes!
A business is created to make money. So they are constantly coming up with new products for us to buy. They work with marketing firms to come up with the most attractive packaging. All just to keep us coming back for more! I ask myself, how new/reformulated/better can they really be? It is really fun to buy the latest products, I love it. I’ve always wanted to buy an hourglass palette, but they have so many different things I just don’t know what I’m buying. So I give up. I need some kind of comprehensive guide that explains what all the various ‘lights’ are. Love your videos Emily! ❤And your kitties are adorable and sweet!

I loved this video and would like more like these...maybe monthly? It helps with the FOMO and I would like to focus on my already purchased makeup more. So little out there is actually unique that often after something has been sitting in my cart for two weeks I'm not even interested anymore. I have been doing this so much lately. I see all kinds of makeup looks on RUclips. I find one I want to replicate, I take my phone to my vanity with me. Then I search for all my similar products that would complete the look
I think those Hourglass palettes are gorgeous. I also love that they are customizable. You can choose which shades you want with which compact. Hourglass should have been doing this all along with their holiday palette.
Would you please make this a regular video? I absolutely love the inspiration behind this, possibly even more than a dupes video! Even if I find an exact dupe of a new product that’s cheaper, I often still forget that I have many similar products and I don’t actually need anything new at all! I want to work on loving what I have, a project that is even harder with all the newness of the holiday season.

Hi Emily! I buy the Hourglass sets every year!! I didn't LOVE last years, but I LOOOVE this new set! The packaging is so beautiful! I bought the medium. You get to choose the package- elephant, bees or tigers. I chose the elephant. I use my Hourglass sets all the time. You would LOVE the blushes!! Just sayin'! ❤
I love that you promote using your own stash. I have started doing that and don’t even shop the Sephora sale because I don’t spend enough to get 20% off. I found that I can go directly to the manufacturer websites and sign up for the makeup I want. So much more rewarding. It is too bad Sephora pushed me away.
Hi Emily despite being someone who LOVES makeup and watches a LOT of beauty videos, I don't actually buy a ton of makeup. In the last 12 months I've bought 3 eyeshadow palettes (plus one eyeshadow quad), a couple of eyeshadow sticks, one blush, some eyeliners on sale and mascaras - that's it. Not too bad overall I think. If something really catches my eye I put it on a wishlist and consider it carefully before purchasing. I never buy it on launch (when my subscription feed here is saturated with videos on it), instead waiting until the hype dies down and if I still want it months later - that's when I buy it. Makeup expires at some point and having masses of stuff that never gets used would make me feel really guilty. Now I'm not a content creator where it's my job to review makeup etc, just a normal consumer who loves makeup. I don't need every new release I think is pretty, when I probably have similar shades already. I try to be reasonably restrained and live vicariously through others - hence watching videos about the new stuff lol. I also know my own makeup taste and I like soft cool tones and neutrals for my colouring, so a bunch of warm toned, or bright jewel shades, or a very dark palette are never going to be for me - which is often what is launching this time of year (this also plays a part in being a bit less excited by some of the launches). Currently the top two palettes on my wishlist are the new Laura mercier palette with the soft shades (not yet released in the UK) and the smaller size viseart cool mattes palette (I've been eyeing this one for a while). I bought the viseart cashmerie a couple of weeks ago as my Autumn/Fall palette, but I've had my eye on that one for months and months. Best wishes.
This is what I always do! I put things on my favorites/wish list and every once in a while go through that list. I then look at what I already have to see if I have something similar already. If it's a product that I don't have anything similar to, then I will leave it on my list and wait for a sale/coupon/discount! It saves me money and keeps my collection more curated and less cluttered.

Same. I bet that goes for many of us. Especially when you pick up seasonal items on sale at the end of the season chances are you won't even use it until the next year because you switch to the new season! and then you already want something new... To not use again... And it goes on from there.

I just did this last night! Was eying the new ABH palette…it is stunning on the people who have tried it!! So I went through my palettes looking for those types of tones and easily found them! Needless to say, I didn’t impulse by the new ABH! I was proud of myself!! Lol!

This is an incredible idea for a video because the last 18 months it’s all been above new new new , not just your channel but absolutely everywhere. I felt overwhelmed by it all in multiple ways we’re not enjoying what we have before we’re told to go get this wonderful new product, so we just keep buying things without appreciating what we already have I can’t afford to go buy all this new beautiful new makeup, and I end up with fomo and upset because I can’t buy the new Foundation btw base products are my absolute favourites . I absolutely love this video. I do the exact same thing right before each of Sephora's sales, load up cart and then shop my stash for similar products. This also helps me unbox any purchases or products I may have forgotten about. This weekend I just unboxed a bare minerals setting powder and highlighter duo that is now discontinued. This actually saves a lot of money is good for the environment.

I've taken vacations with Luxury accommodations, and have a nice little nest egg savings account!! I love foundations most of all. I’ve tried many, and I’m very picky because I’m 46 and my skin is a little more difficult than it used to be. 😊The Hourglass foundation is absolutely beautiful. Since I got it, I can’t stop wearing it. With that said, I had to break the habit of repeatedly buying products just like the ones I had. I’m much more selective now. Love this video idea!

We adopted two sister kittens two and a half years ago. We got one first and then we were kinda “forced” to get the second one, because she was the last left. It’s the best decision ever! They play and fight, the give us and each other kisses. We looove them!🥰🤍🤍

I love this kind of video! One of my favorite things to do lately is watch eye shadow palette videos with swatches and tutorials and think about what I already have (which isn't much) and how I already have similar shades. I have Colourpop stone cold fox, that's Taupe, and Lust for Dusk, a Cover Girl Tru Naked palette (Dazed) and a couple of Elf bite sized quads. I think those palettes will take me through fall just fine.

When I have no shows to catch up on I spend ALL of my screen time watching Em’s videos. I’m talking wayyyyy back videos! I watch a minimum of 4 Emily videos daily…and it never gets old! Emily, today I watched all your pregnancy announcements, birth videos and your gender reveal, etc. My fiancé asked why I was crying! 😂 I just feel like Emily is my lifelong best friend. Yes! I just rewatched all her video's in reverse order (Because RUclips sorting sucks!) But I've probably seen them all at least 5 times each! They NEVER get old! Hey Em. Happy Thursday. I’m a fairly long term subscriber of yours and always look forward to your video up load days. Today, I am enjoying your video a little but extra! Your video has been an incredible distraction from the chaos and nightmare that is Southwest Florida today. I live about 15-20 miles directly east of Fort Myers beach where the eye of hurricane Ian made landfall. My husband and I along with our two dogs and home successfully survived the storm with minimal damage to our landscaping and pool cages. All things that can easily be fixed. Unfortunately, that is not the case for SO many people. The devastation is unfathomable!! Peoples large boats washed ashore inland and in the middle of main roads, the causeway between Sanibel Island and the main land crumpled! Many people stranded and deaths “too numerous to count” as of now per the Lee County Sheriffs Office. Please keep southwest Florida and all the people affected by this disaster in your thoughts and prayers. My husband and I feel incredibly lucky and incredibly grateful, and will be doing whatever we can to help those around us that weren’t as fortunate.
P.S. our subdivision isn’t too far from the Fort Myers airport, so we share a power grid with the airport. Somehow in those 100 mph sustained winds and 140 mph wind gusts we never lost power! Although, most of

You know we need these type of videos even more as the holidays are approaching and they have started early already with holiday collection. I have decluttered this pass summer. I decided to cut back for since the pandemic and haven't look back since. I used to purchase so much you though I had a channel. I had to buy extra storage. And I appreciate that you aren’t negative about products but you realize that we don’t need to have it all to be happy. Thank you for the reminders that we can use what we have, love what we have and not have to spend a lot of money. But it’s ok to treat ourselves to something new occasionally.

Best Em advice ever: cover the pop of color in an eyeshadow palette and look at how basic the rest of the colors are. Saved me from buying too many eye palettes!
A business is created to make money. So they are constantly coming up with new products for us to buy. They work with marketing firms to come up with the most attractive packaging. All just to keep us coming back for more! I ask myself, how new/reformulated/better can they really be? It is really fun to buy the latest products, I love it. I’ve always wanted to buy an hourglass palette, but they have so many different things I just don’t know what I’m buying. So I give up. I need some kind of comprehensive guide that explains what all the various ‘lights’ are. Love your videos Emily! ❤And your kitties are adorable and sweet!

I would love a video on how to think about organizing eye shadow singles. I have so many that I don’t use because they are all lost in a muddle. I am trying very hard to use what I have and I like these kinds of videos - so thanks for making them.
I loved this video and would like more like these...maybe monthly? It helps with the FOMO and I would like to focus on my already purchased makeup more. So little out there is actually unique that often after something has been sitting in my cart for two weeks I'm not even interested anymore. And I look forward to your holiday reviews...I found you in the fall a few years ago so it feels like I've come home when you do those. I have been doing this so much lately. I see all kinds of makeup looks on RUclips. I find one I want to replicate, I take my phone to my vanity with me. Then I search for all my similar products that would complete the look
I think those Hourglass palettes are gorgeous. I also love that they are customizable. You can choose which shades you want with which compact. Hourglass should have been doing this all along with their holiday palette.

Would you please make this a regular video? I absolutely love the inspiration behind this, possibly even more than a dupes video! Even if I find an exact dupe of a new product that’s cheaper, I often still forget that I have many similar products and I don’t actually need anything new at all! I want to work on loving what I have, a project that is even harder with all the newness of the holiday season.

I buy the Hourglass sets every year!! I didn't LOVE last years, but I LOOOVE this new set! The packaging is so beautiful! I bought the medium. You get to choose the package- elephant, bees or tigers. I chose the elephant. I use my Hourglass sets all the time.

I love that you promote using your own stash. I have started doing that and don’t even shop the Sephora sale because I don’t spend enough to get 20% off. I found that I can go directly to the manufacturer websites and sign up for the makeup I want. So much more rewarding. It is too bad Sephora pushed me away.

Hi Emily despite being someone who LOVES makeup and watches a LOT of beauty videos, I don't actually buy a ton of makeup. In the last 12 months I've bought 3 eyeshadow palettes (plus one eyeshadow quad), a couple of eyeshadow sticks, one blush, some eyeliners on sale and mascaras - that's it. Not too bad overall I think. If something really catches my eye I put it on a wishlist and consider it carefully before purchasing. I never buy it on launch (when my subscription feed here is saturated with videos on it), instead waiting until the hype dies down and if I still want it months later - that's when I buy it. Makeup expires at some point and having masses of stuff that never gets used would make me feel really guilty. Now I'm not a content creator where it's my job to review makeup etc, just a normal consumer who loves makeup. I don't need every new release I think is pretty, when I probably have similar shades already. I try to be reasonably restrained and live vicariously through others - hence watching videos about the new stuff lol. I also know my own makeup taste and I like soft cool tones and neutrals for my colouring, so a bunch of warm toned, or bright jewel shades, or a very dark palette are never going to be for me - which is often what is launching this time of year (this also plays a part in being a bit less excited by some of the launches). Currently the top two palettes on my wishlist are the new Laura mercier palette with the soft shades (not yet released in the UK) and the smaller size viseart cool mattes palette (I've been eyeing this one for a while). I bought the viseart cashmerie a couple of weeks ago as my Autumn/Fall palette, but I've had my eye on that one for months and months. Best wishes.

This is what I always do! I put things on my favorites/wish list and every once in a while go through that list. I then look at what I already have to see if I have something similar already. If it's a product that I don't have anything similar to, then I will leave it on my list and wait for a sale/coupon/discount! It saves me money and keeps my collection more curated and less cluttered.

And some of my stashed stuff is not even used yet! That's why I love your shop my stash videos, and videos like this! Look at what you already have, and save some moolah💕
Same. I bet that goes for many of us. Especially when you pick up seasonal items on sale at the end of the season chances are you won't even use it until the next year because you switch to the new season! and then you already want something new... To not use again... And it goes on from there.

I just did this last night! Was eying the new ABH palette…it is stunning on the people who have tried it!! So I went through my palettes looking for those types of tones and easily found them! Needless to say, I didn’t impulse by the new ABH! I was proud of myself!! Lol!

This is an incredible idea for a video because the last 18 months it’s all been above new new new , not just your channel but absolutely everywhere. I felt overwhelmed by it all in multiple ways we’re not enjoying what we have before we’re told to go get this wonderful new product, so we just keep buying things without appreciating what we already have I can’t afford to go buy all this new beautiful new makeup, and I end up with fomo and upset because I can’t buy the new Foundation btw base products are my absolute favourites . So I think this video idea is genius!

I absolutely love this video. I do the exact same thing right before each of Sephora's sales, load up cart and then shop my stash for similar products. This also helps me unbox any purchases or products I may have forgotten about. This weekend I just unboxed a bare minerals setting powder and highlighter duo that is now discontinued. This actually saves a lot of money is good for the environment.

I've taken vacations with Luxury accommodations, and have a nice little nest egg savings account!! I love foundations most of all. I’ve tried many, and I’m very picky because I’m 46 and my skin is a little more difficult than it used to be. 😊The Hourglass foundation is absolutely beautiful. Since I got it, I can’t stop wearing it. With that said, I had to break the habit of repeatedly buying products just like the ones I had. I’m much more selective now. Love this video idea!

We adopted two sister kittens two and a half years ago. We got one first and then we were kinda “forced” to get the second one, because she was the last left. It’s the best decision ever! They play and fight, the give us and each other kisses. We looove them!🥰🤍🤍

I love this kind of video! One of my favorite things to do lately is watch eye shadow palette videos with swatches and tutorials and think about what I already have (which isn't much) and how I already have similar shades.
I have Colourpop stone cold fox, that's Taupe, and Lust for Dusk, a Cover Girl Tru Naked palette (Dazed) and a couple of Elf bite sized quads. I think those palettes will take me through fall just fine.
