    Nice looking WR250R!!! Lots of great mods but the exhaust and computer/ignition mods are a total waste of money -- the performance gains are from making the bike slightly lighter (mostly in your wallet).

    • @user-we5yo2yo1f
      @user-we5yo2yo1f  3 года назад

      We disagree. That bike is corked up from the factory, especially in the early part of the power band. EJK EFI controller and aftermarket exhaust wakes it up nicely, and makes the power delivery much better and gets rid of that dead spot in the lower RPM's.

      Not real sure since we never did that filter kit on it's own, but it's probably not going to run quite right since it will be taking in more air. But as mentioned, we never did that one on it's own so it's hard to say for sure.

    • @user-we5yo2yo1f
      @user-we5yo2yo1f  4 года назад +1

      We've never weighed the bike before and after. Exhaust system and wheels are going to drop the most weight. You'll add some back by adding protective parts, racks, etc... no way around that really. It's probably a wash in the end.

    • @dakotamcdivitt1808
      @dakotamcdivitt1808 4 года назад

      You have to take a screw driver or something to pry with and pry apart the triple clamps a bit and pull down at the same time and they'll drop right out.

    • @dakotamcdivitt1808
      @dakotamcdivitt1808 4 года назад

      Sometimes they might be a little snug still. I find that it helps to give them a little twist back and forth as you're pulling down. Easier if you've got an extra set of hands around

  • @chuka10

    top wr, but i most asked, the weight increase worth all that mods?

    • @user-we5yo2yo1f
      @user-we5yo2yo1f  2 года назад +1

      We dropped about 7-8 lbs with the aftermarket exhaust, and saved a few lbs with the wheels too... so that helps offset the small amount of weight added with protective bits like skid plate, handguards, etc. So the bike probably hasn't added any weight when compared to stock.

    • @user-we5yo2yo1f
      @user-we5yo2yo1f  5 лет назад +1

      You'd need to add whatever items you want to your shopping cart via our website and let it add the total up. We do not "build" bikes for customers at this time, so we just ship them to you, and you'd have to install everything, or have it done at a local shop.

    • @Britishshooter

      @@user-we5yo2yo1f OK sounds good. Once source saves a lot of hassle and as long as there isn't an extra profit margin on top of normal retail, which I am guessing there isn't as you buy from the manufacturers at trade wholesale, then that works.

    • @user-we5yo2yo1f
      @user-we5yo2yo1f  5 лет назад

      Yes we did. Expect about a 10-15% increase in power/torque. But the numbers are sorta of meaningless on a small 250 like this, but it does wake the bike up substantially and makes it much more fun to ride, plus drops a little weight.

      I’m converting 2016 WR450 to dual sport for the TAT. I’ve ordered LED front lights and tail lights and I’m trying to decide how I want to get DC power to them and have it wired correctly (no battery draining, etc).

      Not sure on that. Our bike is a WR250R so we didn't have to worry about that. I'd contact Baja Designs... they seem to have some really good info and products relating to converting off-road bikes to dual sport.

    Great mods, but if you need a gear indicator doohickey, your not doing it right. You should feel your bikes power band, And adjust accordingly. You actually fall out of the sweet zone when you are looking at gauges. The only gauge you need is fuel!

    • @user-we5yo2yo1f

      I love having a gear indicator on the bike. I don't look at it much when riding off-road, but when I'm on the street I use it quite a bit. Sometimes its just handy to look down and see what gear your in. That's why a lot of newer bikes are coming with them and I welcome it.
