    I would like something to use Sue's embroidery stitch book. Learning a number of new stitches each month would be great on a 12 piece project. One small square for each month, and at the end, all 12 will join together to make a picture, or a tile like mosaic. Decorative stitches can be used on the base fabric, or to add other fabrics (eg felts) on top.

    • @ShabbyFabrics

      That's a great idea! I'll pass that on to our team. Sue's book is such a great resource and this series has been so fun to go with it. - Morgan

    A fabric store like Jo Ann's Fabrics Etc....., (you may have to ask one of the employees where their wool fabric is kept, or ask them if they have any rimnets of the wool fabric) Hobby Lobby, or at a specialty quilt fabric store in your local area. I hope that helps.....😊

    • @ShabbyFabrics

    I have watched several of the Mug Rug videos and I may be missing this - which needle are you using for what? When purchasing any of the kits, you recommend both the Sue Spargo Needles and the Richard Hemming Needles. Thank you!

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  5 лет назад

      The Richard Hemming needles are used with the wool thread for whip stitching the applique shapes in place. The larger Milliners needles are used with the larger embellishing threads because they have a larger eye and make a bigger hole. Happy Stitching! - Tammy

    My idea is a reasonably priced applique series. It's hard to spend $35-45 per month on a kit. :)

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  5 лет назад

      Thanks for sharing that idea with us. We know it can be difficult to afford some of the kits. With the price of wool being around $100 a yard those kits costs can add-up quickly.
      However, we do have this really fun Tiny Trio Wall-Hanging Club that's less than $25 a month and ships FREE worldwide! It's really cute, fun cotton appliqué that you might be interested in: bit.ly/2xWV7zu

      Here in England, I have been using pressed felt. It's either acrylic (v cheap £1 for 12 x9 inch), or wool mix £2. Once you buy say, 10, they do a number of mug rugs. They will keep you going until you can afford to upgrade and splurge out on SF lovely pure wool kits.

    What kind of pen did you use for face? Never heard of that pen.

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  5 лет назад

      Hi Maureen, we use two different pens here. When tracing the fusible we use a Micron Pen so the marks don't disappear. You can learn about this pen here: bit.ly/2M8IYk2
      When Tammy is drawing her embroidery lines she uses a Frixion Pen because the marks go away when we add heat. You can learn more about that pen here: bit.ly/2wJFlaR
