Most people only know about the Petersen Automotive Museum in the Los Angeles area. The Nethercutt Collection has two buildings one of which needs a reservation. Admission is free. There was also the wonderful Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard which closed earlier this year after the owner passed away.
That silver color 1933 Deusenberg was called the "Twenty Grand" because it was worth over $20,000-- which today in 2024 dollars is valued at over $400,000... a very very expensive car indeed back in 1933 when the US was in the midst of the Great Depression. 🇺🇲🇺🇲😀
I appreciate seeing antique cars, when collector's leave/maintained cars the way they came factory new. The cars in this video are very nice examples of what I mentioned.
I took my English parents to the J.B. Nethercutt back in 1976 and it was just as beautiful. They also feature hood ornaments, furniture and some organ's. I believe from a "Huell Houser" program, they have a steam train located across the street.
I’ve heard about the Nethercutt collection many times but never got my way up there from Orange County. Guess it’s about time and also I need to get out to the Lions drag strip museum.
The car collection is most impressive, but the music box and organ collection across the street from the main collection is also quite impressive on its merits. Unlike the auto collection, there is a small admission charge, but its well worth taking up both collections if possible. The only drawback is that the auto and music box building has limited days and times for viewing. The regular auto collection only museum has "normal" hours.
"I would be terrified to drive it" Ok pal then why you got a greasy bag of food in the car with you? And I assume drinks? I hope whoever's idea it was to go to McDonald's also volunteered to spend an hour or so detailing the interior afterwords.
Well, great History..and *great “monies , Expenses” to,keep Running…. ( & also,mentioning People costs)… Anyways, I hope I can , at least,visit some day, etc. Interesting!
maybe you should ask bill gates or elon musk or the king of england, king family owned africa for thousands of years and there all starving or U.A.E.? or SAUDI ARABIA?? thier the "religion of peace" yet they let thousands of their own muslims die daily from starvation, now in GAZA the genocide yet they take in NO REFUGEES??🤔🤔🤔🤔 think harder next time
That applies to everything expensive. I wonder how many parents are too strung out on drugs and too lazy to work. I raised a family and my kids always had a beautiful home and plenty of food, and plenty of discipline so they, also became hard working parents and the cycle continued. It doesn't matter how much you give lazy bums it won't make any difference.
Poor old guy, he drank the, "no more combustion kool-aid"... We will always have combustion engines around in some fashion. Just think it out... without the conspiracy theories.
What TERRIFIC PEOPLE they are to keep the admission FREE!!! And to have been invited to drive in the worlds MOST EXPENSIVE AND PRIZED DUESENBERG had to be mind-boggling!!! I'll never have the $$$ money to travel anywhere but if I was ever in that museum, I'd LOSE ALL MY SH!T. 🤯🤪🤪🤪

The grandson is a nice guy. He regularly brings his cars on Jay Leno's garage. The Nethercutt museum is open to the public for free.
@@writerconsidered put a donations acepted " help fight for those in need" sign at thee entrance.
Eventually, Jay Leno's garage will become a museum as well. He has earned that notoriety.
Thank you JB for keeping these beautiful lady’s alive!!!
Awesome segment!! Thank you so much again for sharing our story with the world!!!

it's probably the most famous Duesenberg ever built.
IIRC, when the "Twenty Grand" appeared on _Jay Leno's Garage_ ,the Burbank police escorted it to the Burbank airport to be videod on a runway.

Some of the Nethercutt Collection cars has been featured on Jay Leno's YB channel.
Excellent ! I must visit this collection in the future .
What a wonderful place. I definitely want to see that collection in person. Sounds like a great family. It's nice there going to share it.
Camron is such a great ambassador for his family's museum.
A real gentleman.
When a necessity becomes outdated it is freer to become art.
This is good news, it’s hard keeping a family museum going down the generations, the mullin automotive museum is a case in point.
In one word beautiful 💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻
I’ve heard about the Nethercutt collection many times but never got my way up there from Orange County. Guess it’s about time and also I need to get out to the Lions drag strip museum.
Go early on a Saturday before traffic and check it out. It’s free and worth the trip.
The design philosophy back then was different making them a work of arts and classics at the same time.
Many of those design themes carried through to buildings, aircraft, boats etc.
Imagine the total dollar value under those two roofs! Hopefully the security is tight as a drum 24/7.
Watch Jay and you'll see a few of these cars he's shown on Jay's show.
An absolutely wonderful mueseum. Variety and quality of the cars is unsurpassed. Not to be missed.
It’s a Duesy. The 20 Grand Duesenberg is truly amazing

Imagine the insurance…
And with the soon-to-be-established Jay Leno collection LA could become the Mecca of seeing antique cars.
Pieces of art
Leno has some catching up to do 😂
Quality and built to last!
Absolutely Gorgeous Cars 🚗 😍 👌 ❤️
I knew it was a Duesenberg from watching old movies
Well these cars have been on Jay Leno many times.
They are much braver than I am!!😂
The only way I'd drive those Beauties is on a Well Swept and Closed Track!!🤣🤣
The museum is doozy.
They are so rich they can afford McDonald's ridiculous prices.
do you have any Grey Poupon ?
The Benz Patent Motorwagen is a replica btw.
I thought this is about Jay Leno's garage finally opens for public 😅 well at least it's the next best thing
Wow cool cars

If you get REALLY lucky, you can get a tour of the "garage" where the cars off display are stashed... You just think Jay Leno has a nice collection...
What a Duzy! Pardon the pun eh!
The cars are cool but the building as well.
Why can't we have nice things like this anymore. Stop buying SUVs.
Beautiful 1930. Compare these to Musks new truck🤣🤣
I would never have have this collection in earthquake zone .. Tennessee safer

Wonder🤔,, how many children would go to bed with a full warm stomach in a secure family home with the value of just one of those cars.
Maybe in a communist country they would take away private property.

The museum employs many parents. Both directly and indirectly. Millionaires don’t build their own yachts, you know.
@@-Stop-it yes,, I know they don't.
Most dont polish or tie there own shoes let alone build there wealth on the sweat of there own brow either.
