This is a timed lap. The cars are timed for how long it takes them to complete the entire track individually. This is done to test the cars directly in order to eliminate the reaction of the driver (although it is included at the end of the video).
What does this mean? You may ask
Well, my cat loving friend. This means that it doesn't matter if a car crosses the finish line first. The finish line is just a reference for the timer to stop. The car that wins is the car that completes the entire track within the least amount of time. In this particular video, the Porsche finished the track in less time when compared to the Audi. In other words, the Porsche completed the distance of the track in less time than the Audi.

Is it just me or do we completely rely on technology and not ourselves anymore. Clearly 2:58 was not a win for the Porsche. I am surprised nobody noticed that. Go ahead stop it exactly at 2:58 half way you can see that the Audi had the tires touching the line before the Porsche.
is it just me or do you not understand how this works? they go after TIME and SPEED. clearly on the end creds porche was going 201 km/h on the quorter mile while the audi was going 197. also the end time at the mile mark the porche did the mile in 28.438 and the audi did it in 28.848 so the porshe DID win. i love that audi its a monster but that is just the fact porche won that one

That company detuned the CLS63? 820HP? With that much horse power, 1/4 is much slower than standard 410kw from the factory. I think maybe cls250 is faster than that, maybe there are certain conditions on this track, but 820HP CLS63 with 1/4 @ 13.5secs is still unbelievable.

there is "reaction time" listed, so actual time starts after car starts movement, not from green light, so cars have diff start times.
So they are not actually racing it is just a time trial with reaction time being meaningless!

The LP570-4 is AWD however the way the power is deliveried is more of a RwD set up and it seems like the 1800HP was a bit too much for the diff and AWD systems to cope with... So a note to anyone with a Gallardo who wants to do that make sure the diff and AWD are upgraded to cope...

It was spinning of the line because it has been tuned so much and its hard to put down 1800 horses on a RWD car(But its a lp570-4 so it should be AWD).
Basicly it had traction issues.

Well, the nice thing is: You can put your wife, 2 kids, 2 beer crates and the baby buggy in the RS6, while having fun.
I've seen them on the autobahn they are dangerous. Same cannot be said at the nurburgring. I'd still buy one because I'm a fan of the "super wagon"
I wish it wasn't tuned to the extreme and ran more consistently. This one's definitely built for that one record-breaking run (in a dozen tries) when all the pieces fall into place... pun intended!
