  • How to Fix a P0335 engine code: Crankshaft Position Sensor 'A' Circuit Malfunction
The computer (ECM/PCM) tracks the engine timing using the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP). This allows for the ignition (spark) at the correct time.
A P0335 code is set when the computer (ECM/PCM) can not detect any signal from the crankshaft position sensor.
    May have Re-Learn Procedure
    Possible Causes of P0335 Code:
    Faulty Crankshaft Position Sensor
Wiring Issue (Sensor harness has open or short)
    Blown Fuse

i had a huge crack in my air intake rubber boot just before the throttle boddy. was running all crazy and stalling, could that throw off the computer to give the p0335 code?

What about a reluctor wheel issue?

I get code when code p0335 and p0336 when cold. Runs rough tachometer stops working. After warm-up and shut engine off for few minutes it starts and run ok. I had new crk sensor installed. The reason I had sensor replaced is one day it when into limp mode and I put scanner on and it gave engine misfire and crk sensor code. When I shut off and restart the crk sensor code was not there and it ran ok. Any suggestions.

I have a 2014 camaro ss. Same issues but opposite of you. Cold start is fine an drives good. After shutting off is when issue start. Went to chevy & paid them for new part & relearn. A few $$$. Same day the issue continues. Take it back. They say my reluctor wheel has missing/broken teeth. Car had been there for the 4th time for same issue. But charged me for miss Dianostic's each time. $150..( new battery, alternator & ecu)
No reimbursements. And wouldn't fix my car. Said Mechanic don't want to deal with it due to my mods😂😂😂. So check the teeth on your reluctor wheel

Hello Sir I changed the krank shaft position sensor but the problem is still not working what can I do more have you idia about that

If the sensor is good, I would test the wiring. Keep in mind that when a cam sensor is replaced, some vehicles need a cam relearn.

Hello like your video. I also have an issue with P 0335, P0340,P0365. I have tried everything replace sensors checked wiring checked all fuses and tested all relay. We just recently put this engine in the car and we can't get it to start. We're pretty sure that everything is in time double checked several times it's just throwing those 3 codes. I'm wondering if I need to learn the sensors , the engine or the computer with everything. I'm thinking about purchasing a scan tool that relearns the sensors do you think that would possibly work. Thank you

When a Relearn is needed usually a "Camshaft Position Correlation" code comes up. The P0335, P0340, and P0365 all point to a Circuit Malfunction. A Relearn can be vehicle-specific, including how it is done and how it reacts, so it may work, but I would guess it would be temporary, and the codes will likely come back. Before buying an expensive scan tool, you could call around to automotive stores, which often have loaner scan tools that can be used with a deposit with Crank/Cam Relearn option.

Thank you for your reply, so you think that there may be a short some where? I know that I have 5 volts at each harness an ground ,but it's like no signal going to pcm. I did contact a couple automotive shops but no luck, I did find a scan tool that I'm going to purchase to see if it will give me some direction, I've went over an over things an still not start ,I haven't pulled apart the wiring harness yet but I checked all relays an tested an every fuse. Thanks again for your help.
