There's 3 little bolts in that column that work their selves lose take them out individualy and put lock tight on them and that will tighten the column up my 84 ss monte did the same thimg love the videos guys
Its from people using the wheel to pull themselves across the seat!
Yes it requires 2 special tools the lock plate tool and the pivot pin puller.
LOL I haven't had to do that in a looooooooooooong time!
They’re a pain in the ass. Assisted in doing that fix on a 76 firebird a few months back. The column on that car had other issues with the key switch and the Bearings as well. My 95 camaro has the same issue. WI’ll fix it when it’s unbearable to drive and I feel like changing the steering wheel and doing an airbag delete.
@@davidarich2 I used to service a fleet of 80s chevy vans and the drivers used the wheel to hoist themselves up into the seat. That was a chronic issue!

Buy the rear wheel centering kit....One of GM's biggest boo boos! And ditch the headliner....I'm sure whatever else you guys do to it will be cool !
You referring to this generation of impala/caprice’s design of the rear wheel against the back of the rear door? (So misaligned!) If so, I cannot believe GM ok’d it. Once I saw this new generation come out back then, I just shook my head.
