I love the racing videos, but this stuff right here is pure gold! Felt like I was watching the BS that happens to me! 😂😂 I love being part of moron nation! Keep up the great work!
these videos are the best! Reminds me of me and my Dad and brothers working in the garage. I would say "hey Dad they make a tool for that " and he would say "we have tools now grab a screwdriver and help me" lol. You know you're doing sketchy shit when everyone turns their backs as you do it so they won't get hit in the face when that shit flies off lmao.
Gotta love the downtime of the off season!!! Seems like all us Morons crave these shop videos all summer & fall while they are busting butt to get from week to week cross country and the racing videos are awesome but these just hit ya completely different and they are a slower, more relaxed pace and it’s nice seeing both Shawn & Phantom chill and relaxed snd not stressed like sometimes in the NPK videos but it truly was spectacular seeing the wins this season. He’s fought for years to get these wins and I’m proud of them all!
I love my K5 too. Like you said, tons of compliments. Though one time when I had the top off a guy said “you trying to make it like a jeep?” I said why would I ever want to do that. He thought I cut the back off the cab of a pickup and put a bench seat in the back🤦♂️ Like you said, some people don’t know what K5s are.
Shawn and Dalton trying to get the back spring installed while Erin is sitting in the background with her feet up and phone out is the most car guy thing I've ever seen. She breaks it and takes a little break while they beat on stuff and bleed! LOL
the occasional dying: not sure on earlier tbi... i had a bunch of elusive misc idle running issues with my 94. large part of it was egr not seating, and bad egr diaphragm (two problems, same area). the new egrs are not good quality. lot of guys have problems with them. i got a new one from napa, and got lucky i think. at one point the gasket at the base of the tbi leaked. took it off and put a rebuild kit in it, finding a sooted up idle circuit. cleaned it out. those two things did a lot. later did intake gaskets because coolant leaks. at that point found the intakes pirts were leaking. that fixed the rest of the running problems. the thing is, that truck, while imperfect, always gets me home. ive never had a more reliable fuel system. it's 30 yrs old. it's going to take some maintenance.
I had a 19 I think 86K5 blazer where I could take the top off put it back on. It was great at the beach, especially Daytona. Take the top off drive on the beach. The only issue is once you take that top off when you put it back on man you better make sure that freaking piece of rubber is bulletproof or you're gonna have a leak. Keep that rubber moist or it will dry rot real quick when the tops off. My grandfather taught me that trick he said Vaseline on that so when the sun hits it, it won't dry out and then when you put the top back on, you have a dry rod piece of rubber and your stereo, boombox in the back box in the back gonna get wet. My favorite vehicle. I freaking totaled it avoiding a deer. Damn deer ran across the road and I ended up in the woods. My head went halfway through the windshield. Pulled glass out of my head for two years, I missed that it was red and tan two tone
Hubby is a diesel mechanic and laughed at that joke. He also reminded me that the HMMV's have the same transfer case. He was going step by step before you got to it, and then looked at me and said....see. I told him you remember more than I do, I just serviced the bitches.
😂😂😂 I love your guy's friendship and ability to laugh at each other and throw jabs and shawn we have all been there i almost fropped my k20 on my head replacing a leave spring bushing and bolt and then the impact spun out of my hand and busted my head open.... all i could do was laugh cause of the whole situation
I did a 88 model GMC Jimmy with a GM 383 stroker crate motor and added the Holley Sniper and it made it extremely pleasant driver. That TBI is just junk compared to this setup!
Looks like y'all have the shop superintendent bird doging. 🙂 Usually the proportion valve needs to be taken apart cleaned and reassembled. Especially in old drum break autos. It almost always stops the one wheel lockup. Balances those breaks good.
What a man will do for his ❤! I see the Boss (Erin) supervising the work on her K5 in the background sitting on those nice chairs you guys bought. Nice job Dalton, I mean Shawn 🤣. We ❤ these video guys! 🔦🏁💰🤑🇺🇸 Can you drop a link on those shop chairs you bought, thx!
I bet the Wagoneer still draws more attention than the K5 but may depend on area. They both draw great crowds!! At least my Wagoneer does. If I go anywhere, I can not be in a hurry cause folks line up to talk to me and look at it and it’s just a nice, original rust free Wagoneer. Do you still have yours Shawn?
Take the wiring harness bulkhead loose on the firewall get some electrical contact cleaner, and clean both sides of the bulkhead connector it will look like old setup Coca-Cola in there. I had a C10 doing the same symptoms, and it was shutting off the fuel pump.
I was drilling out broken off fly wheel bolts of a Cat Engine and was using an old 3/4 drill with lot of TORQUE it had 2 foot pipes of both sides of the drill and it caught, spun around hit me in the forehead and knock my ass out cold! 😂 😂
42:50 well I don’t have a 64’ fairlane but I have a 1963. She’s mint, it’s not for sale sorry Dalton but I’m sure you would love this one even though it’s not your year.
You guys were talking about the fuel fill being on the passenger side on the square body trucks with the single tank it's always on the passenger as well
You guys need to stand on the starting line with two top fuel cars. It’s 10x pro mod stuff. I’ve been lucky enough to be directly between them a few times when I worked for the safety safari
I may be wrong, but I think I’m right if you took the pins that the saddle sit on out of the front and added it to the rear, the truck was it level on the left
Need to find a pre 1980 Dodge Ram charger or Plymouth Trail duster. Many came with 440's and the top comes off to the front windshield. My opinion, better than the K5. Lol
More than likely the engine needs a new distributor, pickup coil, ignition module, and a cap and rotor. The distributors were notorious for pumping oil up and soaking the pickup coil because the distributor housings back then pretty much were junk. With regards to the second set of front shocks they were for the HD Towing/Snow Plow package and unless the front end is bouncing and the single shock is good I would not reinstall them because the ride of the truck is degraded
Is that transfer case made of aluminum or magnesium???? I know that the magnesium case is prone to cracking. Most of the time is on the 1:00 spot if get what I'm saying. Check the internal pump and Case for damage. Don't ask me how I know lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just a little tid bit from a 30+yr mechanic.
I think we need a shop update to catch up with things, where's your race cars at and your show cars, just see a bunch of trucks around the shop, did you sell your new trailer don't see if or maybe it's around the back
I love the racing videos, but this stuff right here is pure gold! Felt like I was watching the BS that happens to me! 😂😂 I love being part of moron nation! Keep up the great work!
Thoroughly enjoyed all the racin videos... but always love when y'all are in the shop wrenchin...
these videos are the best! Reminds me of me and my Dad and brothers working in the garage. Man I love watching the npk videos.. but I been waiting all year for some these videos. I love this shit!
Gotta love the downtime of the off season!!! The fleet in the shop is always badass to see in the background
Good seeing you show her truck some love…. Happy wife, happy life lol….
Better put brake hoses on that blazer
A nice 187 video to finish off the night. Perfect
I love my K5 too. Like you said, tons of compliments. Though one time when I had the top off a guy said “you trying to make it like a jeep?” I said why would I ever want to do that. “Erin wants to SELL HER Excursion, but let me know what you have to trade”. I’m sure she likes the sound of that.😂
Ratchet strap that sucker to the lift. Might give you a lil piece of mind. lol. Love the channel guys!!!
A jack stand under both axles to give support if it tried to fall would work great. You always used to see a couple at every lift in the old days
Shawn and Dalton trying to get the back spring installed while Erin is sitting in the background with her feet up and phone out is the most car guy thing I've ever seen. She breaks it and takes a little break while they beat on stuff and bleed! LOL
Love Member drop day!!! Love the episodes always.
But what about me I can't watch any
I could watch you guys all day long. And Erin isn't too talkitive but right to the point Shawn. Give us more. Plz❤
QA1 Has Front extended shock for K5 Adjustable they Rock You Got to try them. Just bought a set.
Really enjoyed the video, laughed all the way through it.
Who doesn’t love a cam at a stop light
Y'all, I'm definitely a moron, but that thing on the lift is even giving me anxiety LOL
Oh yea know that feeling well hitting myself with drills and impacts. Perks of the job.
Nice to see Dalton
Thanks for posting every videos. It's always fun to watch you guys work on cars ! 😊
Thanks for the updates on shop time ❤️uall have a great weekend ok later 💪🏼 🏁

Oh this is the shiz love all the racing stuff but y'all's projects are the best and top notch
I love these videos you guys are so funny good job 👍
Seven days of the week, seven days for square body Chevys! Love K5 Blazers.
Great seeing Dalton back on the channel
Ahh man,I miss my 85 k10 wishing I still had it. Great video
Watch the hammer toe hahahaha 33:22

Down the rabbit hole, this whole episode. Maintenance items kept rolling in, relatable 😂.
I did a 88 model GMC Jimmy with a GM 383 stroker crate motor and added the Holley Sniper and it made it extremely pleasant driver. That TBI is just junk compared to this setup!
I spy lil dice in the mirror of the burnout truck awesome 👌
Good point about the narrow frame. If yousee a car made into a lifted vehicle it probably on a blazer frame
When Shawn dropped the hammer getting the cover on the transfer case😂. “F it, good enough for me” vibe
Looks like y'all have the shop superintendent bird doging. 🙂
Usually the proportion valve needs to be taken apart cleaned and reassembled. Especially in old drum break autos.
It almost always stops the one wheel lockup. Balances those breaks good.
All I know is season 7 champs back in the shop having fun.
Lightly clean and coat with Corroseal, best converter I have used, then chassis black!
44:20
Am I going to hell since I laughed at you. Hard😄😆🤣
24:42 “That’s an aggressive chain!” 😂
Love the way he said no we blame it on the boys and then he blames dalton
Hell yeah new episode for work today
It’s a Chevy! No maintenance needed, my old Chevy leaked so much oil I never had to change it due to adding it so much.
Great to see how far the boys have come in a couple of years. Looks like all the ball-busting worked...lol
love erin sitting with feet propped up watching her phone looking up now and then --- WAY to supervise lol
Great video luv the family stuff
My 89 pulled hard to the right, brake upgrade with lines and master, still did it. 4 inch lift with 33s.
Hell yeah the content i miss love the racing stuff but shop talk and shop maintenance/build are the best
Ilove you too murdernova and phantom 405 and the 55 187customs ❤️
Man i swear i was watching myself doing the breaks. Lmao
Man you ain't lying. I pay people to do drum brakes. That's some mystical shit that I don't want to know how to do.
What a man will do for his ❤!
I see the Boss (Erin) supervising the work on her K5 in the background sitting on those nice chairs you guys bought.
Nice job Dalton, I mean Shawn 🤣.
We ❤ these video guys!
🔦🏁💰🤑🇺🇸
Can you drop a link on those shop chairs you bought, thx!

Yes, he does.

finally caught up.. found the channel recently and went back to watch from day 1
Ready for a steady dose of 187 content. Keep em coming fellas.
working on it
Was I the only one looking to make sure the spring was back in lol.
Come on guys. Give that thing an overhaul. She deserves her truck to be nice. She is a good woman that stands behind you 100%.
Good sealer to use on the transfer case is the GM sealant or the Right Stuff.
I was drilling out broken off fly wheel bolts of a Cat Engine and was using an old 3/4 drill with lot of TORQUE it had 2 foot pipes of both sides of the drill and it caught, spun around hit me in the forehead and knock my ass out cold! 😂 😂
Outfreakingstanding gentlemen, great job on everything and keep up the good work!!!👏 👍 👌 💪
Ahh Yeah!!! Back to some reg. shop videos... I like the off season... 🤘
Let's go More shop content my favorite 💯🔥🏁🦅🇺🇲🏆
42:50 well I don’t have a 64’ fairlane but I have a 1963. She’s mint, it’s not for sale sorry Dalton but I’m sure you would love this one even though it’s not your year.
“Man, what sucks now is Daltons gonna have to take these axles out.” Hehe.
I love Blazers. Not too many of them here in Australia unfortunately.
Semi trucks are starting to switch over to disc brakes now. But they are a SUPER PAIN to work on.
That thing is never gonna leak for sure 😂😱 love you guys 👌🏼💪🏼
Fluid film on that bare metal would work wonders
Shawn.. I need a quick video on how you cut the sleeves off your shirt perfectly every time!
lol Erin does it
Old lady just chillin in the background watching 👀 😎.
I've watched my father in law do that to aluminum for 20 years it's fine
The sealent will fill in the highs and lows from the buffing around the transfer case
You guys were talking about the fuel fill being on the passenger side on the square body trucks with the single tank it's always on the passenger as well
Thanx for your video I enjoyed it.
I love the 66-67 Fairlanes. My favorite car of all time.
Man this just made a crappy day better.
You guys need to stand on the starting line with two top fuel cars. It’s 10x pro mod stuff. I’ve been lucky enough to be directly between them a few times when I worked for the safety safari
I'm guessing since they know clay millican they may have experienced it. Lol
Damit shawn you can order a complete rolling frame slide it under it be done with it
Oh, you said there was a tail gate problem opening up. The vertical rod from the handle is bent or broken, common problem. LMC carries them.
It looked like it was about to tip backwards on the lift. I had my 85 K5 blazer for a very very long time.
Lol
I love you guys! And hello from Finland!
Yes! Back to home car revival video's
Yo who blue Chevelle is that In back ground.looks damn clean
Shawn’s brothers
@@187CustomsI thought Shawn bro Chevelle was a different color then that. Must have been awhile since I seen it I guess but thanks bro
@@187Customsy'all men keep up the great hard work n vid y'all put out for us to see
@@obezzyjohnson9680 it was a different color, it got painted.
Love the shop and build videos, I'm surprised you don't have a 4 post lift instead of the sketchy 2 post lol
Four post makes it harder work on brakes and stuff. Two post way more useful than four post in my book.
Check out the 1963 1/2 ford galaxy. They are my favorite
I’ve had a bad temp sensor by the water neck cause a tbi to die in gear.
Please update the 187 intro with the NEW Elite ChAMPIONSHIP Pics!
Funny how shawn talks about ole wreck it rick ! 😂
Ford is coming out with a 2025 Excursion it will be for sale in September!!!
I love what you are doing mat and I love you cars
I think we need a shop update to catch up with things, where's your race cars at and your show cars, just see a bunch of trucks around the shop, did you sell your new trailer don't see if or maybe it's around the back
These are the best videos except for Shawn using his head the wrong way twice! Lol. Thank you for the content. #moronnation
The way she was talking about that thing acting up, I wonder if that fuel tank isn't venting
The front brakes need new rubber hoses. That's why when you slam the brake on it wants to go everywhere
How about a walk around video of the F250/excursion?
